The Five Pillars Of Islam
The five pillars of Islam are five official acts considered mandatory for all Muslims. The Quran
presents them as a structure of devotion and a sign of obligation to faith. One most accomplish
them all to live a good and responsible life according to Islam. These pillars comprise of: Shahada
which means the declaration of faith, preforming the five daily prayers, giving money to the needy
and the poor, cleansing the soul through fasting during the month of Ramadan, the pilgrimage once
in a lifetime to Mecca for those who are able.

The first pillar of Islam, is Shahada, it is the most essential expressions of Islamic beliefs. The
Shahada consists of two depositions. The first, There is no god but God, affirms belief in a single
divine reality. The second, Muhammad is the messenger of God, affirms submission to God through
accepting that Muhammed is the messenger of God. This simple yet deep declaration signifies
acknowledgement not only of Allah and his prophet, but of the entirety of Islam. As one of the
Pillars, the Shahada must be narrated accurately and loudly with full understanding and internal
acceptance at least once in every Muslim s lifetime. Moreover, it emphasizes the monotheistic nature
of Islam.

The second Pillar, the prayer, also known as Salat. Adult Muslims are expected to pray five times a
day: at dawn, midday, afternoon, sunset, and evening. Each Salat does not take more than five
minutes to perform. Having particular times every day to be close to
Design Parameters And Contingency Factors Essay
Introduction

In the context of management, organisation structure is a backbone of an organisation. Mintzberg

(1980) suggested five general types of organisation configuration, constituted by coordinating
different elements of organisation (basic parts of organisation, coordinating mechanisms, design
parameters and contingency factors), which will be illustrated indirectly as preferring to present in
different version to describe Mintzberg s configurations in this essay. In effect, his suggested
structures are related to scientific management in some senses. This essay will reveal the abstract of
Mintzberg s five configurations with arguments, and personal perspectives of how his work help us
gain more understanding beyond scientific management in terms of contingency factors and
standardization.

a. Simple structure

Mintzberg (1980,pp.331 332) suggested this comparatively flat and informal architecture has
minimal hierarchy, which only consists of top managers and operation, coordinating through direct
command. Task allocation, work instructions and training are unnecessary due to the simple
mechanism. The importance of this structure is organism, because of little hierarchy and decision
centralization on chief executives that provides flexibility and adaptability, enable quick reaction
and response to emergent environment as an advantage. Success heavily depends on executives
capacity to operate. However, Dewar
The Founding Fathers Summary
In the book Founding Mothers and Fathers: Gendered Power and the Forming of American Society
by Mary Beth Norton, she explores not only the initial formation of the American colonies, but also
how it related to the family unit, which was quite important to both English society and the one
forming in the colonies. This text, which explores the time period from 1620 to 1670 is written in
three parts, each centered on a familyor individual who defied the traditional societal norms as well
as analyzing the ways in which the colonies dealt with these dissenters from the social norms. The
book begins however with an explanation of the view of the world that the colonists likely lived by
when they first arrived on American shores, as well as its lack of femaleinfluence, and how it would
eventually change to something not unlike what we have in our society today.... Show more content

He believed that the central power of the state, as well as the family, centered on the male
influence of the family. It was a power based in scripture, specifically the Fifth Commandment
which ordered each and every believer to honor thy father and mother. If men failed to fulfill their
obligation to keep their families stable in order, which the head of the Pinion clan, as will be later
addressed, failed to do, then both the family and society will fall into disarray. The purpose of this
book as a whole is to explore and analyze the power relationships in society and politics in colonial
America through the analysis of surviving court records, which were abundant in the New England
colonies but less so in
The Current Principles Of Early Year s Pedagogy And...
(Fisher 2013:5) The years from 0 7 are a period of human development with the capacity to learn.
This quote links into this assignment as it shows how important the first couple of years in a child s
life can affect them the throughout their life. It shows how important it is to have the pioneers input
into the practice and teaching of children as its important they have the best start in life to help them
develop.

In this assignment I am going to compare previous and current pioneers that have and are
influencing the current principles of early year s pedagogy. For example how they are influencing
the four principles of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). This assignment will get me to
look at different views that theorist have to education and how they can be used in current
practice. It will provide me with the information on how they influence early year s pedagogy and
current practice. Throughout this assignment I will be referencing from current reading that I am
doing, these will range from eBooks to articles. I will be using nursery world articles to provide
information about each pioneer and what their work has done for current principles in early year s
pedagogy.

The EYFS is a framework for children up to the of five, it sets out the six key areas of learning
which activities that are planned for children should be based upon. It also sets the learning and
development requirements that practitioners must follow for children below the age of five. The

Citizen Kane Film Review

Citizen Kane Film Review

Citizen Kane, some parts were bland and hard to follow, but in the end it all comes together leaving
the audience with an Aha moment. There was good sound quality throughout the film, something a
little unexpected in a film of it s age. Despite it being in black and white the visual effects were
interesting. At different parts of the film close ups and backlighting are used, also due to the high
number of flashbacks there are many fade outs. The acting is of a fairly good quality especially
considering that during the film many of the actors were new to film. The storyline is well
developed although it can be hard to follow unless you pay very close attention.

Winter Garden Heritage Museum Report
Culture is important in identifying what type of background a person has come from as well
defining some aspects of a person s personality. Therefore, there are numerous locations that center
on different types of cultures in society where one can reflect upon culture and humanity in places
known as cultural centers. There are numerous types of cultural centers within the Orange County
area, one of these being the Winter Garden Heritage Museum, located in downtown Winter Garden
on Plant Street. I had the fortunate opportunity in visiting the Winter Garden Heritage Museum and
was fascinated by the numerous exhibits they offered. Out of all the different types of exhibits in the
museum, there were two that caught my attention in particular.
Essay On Canarium
1.0 Introduction
Canarium schweinfurthii Engl. (Burseraceae) is a large tropical tree widely distributed in East,
Central, and West Africa. A mature tree reaches a height of 45 57 m with a straight cylindrical
bole up to 27 m with a trunk diameters of 1.2 to 1.5 m over a slight buttress root (Mbagwu et al.,
2008). The tree is cultivated for its fruits which are edible and produce oil which is harvested on a
large scale in West Africa. The oil from the resin is also used in perfumery and medicines due to its
lavender like smell. In Uganda, the resin from the tree is usually burnt to produce incense for
ceremonial purposes(Ssegawa and Kasenene, 2007). The stem and bark are used to treat coughs,
venereal diseases and exudates (Ngbede et al., ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
So far, no work has been done on the use of Canarium oil.
The resin of Canarium contains a high percentage of essential oils with known antioxidant and
antifungal properties (Koudou et al., 2005; Obame et al., 2007). Therefore, we were interested if the
essential oil could be used as a protective agent against termites as well. Furthermore, location and
climatic conditions have an effect on the growth of a tree and its production of resin and essential
oils. Therefore we wanted to establish if the oil from Uganda contains the same components as the
oils obtained from other parts of Africa.
In this study, the chemical composition of the essential oil from the resin of Ugandan Canarium was
determined, and its anti termitic activity was established.
2. Experimental procedures
2.1 Plant materials
The resin of Canarium schweinfurthii was harvested from the bark of a mature tree in Sango bay
and stored in a freezer. Termites used in the assay were Macrotermes bellicosus as these have been
found to be the most destructive to wood and timber. Termites above the third instar were used.
2.2 Isolation of essential oils
The essential oil was obtained by steam distillation of the resin (50g) for 4 hours. The oil obtained
was dried over anhydrous sodium sulphate and kept in amber coloured bottles at 4 oC prior to
analysis.
2.3 GC MS analysis
The essential was analysed on an Agilent GC 6890N/MSD 5973B with a fused
Persuasive Essay On Human Trafficking
Though America is often seen as the land of opportunity, there are those who are willing to risk
their lives to obtain that which we often take for granted. People searching for better lives resort to
human trafficking as a result. It is a worldwide issue that can be defined as the trading of humans,
most commonly by force, sexual slavery, or commercial. It is one of the top leading crimes in the
world today that puts men, women, and children in harm s way. Human traffickingis a worldwide
issue that has been going on for ages, and all the issues of the trafficking would make one wonder,
how can it be stopped? Human trafficking has become a modern day version of slavery, it can be
associated with sex and drugs, and it is happening with a lot of women for reasons such as
technology.
On January 31, 1865 the House of Representatives passed the 13th amendment, this amendment
abolished slavery in the united states. To this day, the 13th amendment reminds others of the black
slave trade; but, human trafficking has resurfaced as the status quo of an ideal that was once
thought abolished. Every year, 1.5 million of men, women, and children all around the world are
victims of a human trafficking criminal enterprise. In 2012, there was 20.9 million men, women, and
children that were victims of human trafficking (Ark of Hope). This issue is not taken seriously,
because it is not what one would normally expect to see. Human trafficking is especially noticed by
the government,
Inclusion And Full Of Half Truths Essay
Introduction
In 2000, Professor Geneva Gay wrote that culturally responsive teaching connects students by their
cultural knowledge, prior life experiences, in a way that legitimized and validated what students
already know. By embracing all socio cultural realities and having a thorough understanding allows
the culturally responsive teacher to negotiate the classrooms with their students and have an accurate
reflection of their communities where students develop and prosper.
In doing my research, I found this topic to be fascinating, somewhat bias and full of half truths. Of
course, there was research conducted, statistics, graphs, and charts, by so called professionals within
education who want people to believe their conclusions. These findings are merely illusion of
inclusion and used as tools to utilized as it relates to the educational system. Let s study this a little
deeper. For instance, I teach criminal justice in a predominately black high school. This subject
affects all cultures, races, and economic status despite educational levels. It s real, authentic and most
of all troublesome. I must raise several questions of concerns as it relates to culture and diversity on
educational attainment.
The words educational attainment is used mostly by statistician s and defined by the Census Bureau
as the highest level of education one has completed. Educational attainment is one of the primary
indicators of social class in the United States (Ehrenreich, 1989). Is this
What Is A Controversial Issue Affecting Our Society
The topic Abortion is a controversial matter affecting our society. People feel as though there are pro
cons of the procedures being done. Which cause all branches of the US Government to engage action
on the issue. The supreme court, Legislators,
Presidential is now ending the federal funding of abortions. Abortion rights causes arguments
amongst men and women who support and don t support it. Regardless of the bitterness in political
debate of abortion it can be overcome by compassion. The executive branch will vigorously defend
the law against any who would try to overturn it in the courts. However, the Judicial Branch
including Hillary feels as though women have the right to make their own decisions.

In the case Roe v wade the constitution protects a pregnant woman s right to an abortion. States

committed to the protection of women s health, including protecting a woman s access to safe,

The legislation passed an abortion bill that permanently ban federal funding for abortions. The Hyde

Republicans will need eight Democrats in the chamber to support the Hyde Amendment. The

Preterm Babies
Preterm babies are those that are born before 37 months of pregnancy are over. It is the under
developmental state of these babies that puts them at a higher risk of developing complications after
birth. Good examples of these are complications of the respiratory system that affect the ability of the
neonate to inhale and exhale air. Lung complications are common respiratory problems in preterm
infants. In most cases, the lung matures after 36 weeks, but this differs in fetuses as they exhibit
variability in their rates of development. Respiratory distress syndrome (RDS) is a common lung
problem in preterm babies, and it occurs as a result of the inability of the lungs to synthesize enough
surfactant. The surfactant is important in the lungs
