Analysis Of Nathaniel Bacon s The Name Of The People
In Bacon s Declaration in the Name of the People , Nathaniel Bacon lists every major offense of
Sir William Berkeley, many of which collide with one another to display how the governor s
actions and inactions built upon each other to create turmoil for the people of Virginia. However,
Berkeley defends himself and proclaims Bacon a traitor in, The Declaration and Remonstrance of
Sir William Berkeleyhis most sacred Majesties Governor and Captain Generall of Virginia . In order
to gainthe king s favor, both men write separate declarations, but one has everything to lose while the
other has everything to gain.
The first of the offenses listed by Bacon is the demanding of unjust taxes which are not being
used to better the colony at least not for the underclass; thus, Berkeley has also been accused of
abusing his power as governor. With the purpose of monetary gain, Bacon applies for a trading
license but is denied by Berkeley and the council, which consists of many of Berkeley s cronies.
This leads Bacon to make the allegation that Berkeley has made a monopoly of the beaver trade
which is true but Berkeley only denied Bacon s request because he knew Bacon wanted more power
and where there is money, there is power.
In the midst of the two men s quarreling, the lower classes of Virginia are demanding land. They
begin to migrate to Indian Territory and are consequently murdered by the Indians. Though there is
an army at his command, Berkeley does not use them against the
Essay on Use of Tone in Literature
For example, if the events that took place in The Things They Carried were described in a
newspaper, we might understand what happened, who died, and what was statistically important, but
we probably wouldn t be told why certain things happened, how people felt about these things, and
what emotional toll the the soldiers endured. In this particular story, tone acts as spot light which
illuminates the informational aspects of the literature. In other words, due to the casual and personal
tone of this particular story, certain things must be said; we the reader must be privy to certain
thoughts and feelings of the characters in the story; this information is neither granted to us, or
expected from us when we pick up a newspaper and read... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We can see tone in literature in the same way it is heard in music. While different instruments are
able to play the same notes, the tone of an instrument gives the notes character and texture. This is
the difference between one of Beethoven s symphonies played on a cell phone compared to a violin
the basic notes are there, but tone breathes life into them and gives them meaning, thus making them
perceptible not just as frequencies, but as music.
In the Death of a Salesman the importance and meaning of the story goes beyond salesmen dies in
car crash. The overall tone of the play, as well as the tone of each character in the play, is crucial
in helping us understand who and why these people did what they did. Willy Loman s ramblings
and hallucinations have a wild and disjoint tone that serves to inform us of his mental state, fears,
feelings, regrets, and emotions. If the content of his hallucinations were presented directly as
background information, or as a coherent dream sequence, we would not understand Willy in the
same way. It is not just what Willy says, but how he says it that gives us such a clear picture of
how far down he has fallen and just how bad things are for him. The contrasting tone of Willy s
wife helps to make Willy stand out even more. Similarly, the tones taken on by Biff and Happy
reveal that they represent the two sides of Willy a realization not easily determined by the

REVIEW OF FACTS
Rock Creek Golf Club is a public golf course owned by a private company and managed by Lee
Jeffries. The case entails a debate about the golf carts used to take players around the course
instead of walking around. The carts they already owned were old and there was a need for new golf
carts.
Approached by two salesman, Lee Jeffries was forced to chose to make a deal with one of them.
Salesman A offered carts at $2,240 each and at the end of five years the expected salvage value was
going to be $240 each.
Salesman B proposed to lease the golf carts for $500 dollars per cart per year. This was payable at
the end of the year for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Recommendations and Conclusions
In conclusion of this case, we learned that leasing and purchasing items for the purpose of business
has different implications on the financial status of the company. This is especially true when the
terms for each are different.
Another point to consider is the future impact of either buying or leasing a piece of equipment has
on the future of the company. Does the company hope to depreciate the value of a purchased piece
of equipment and then gain some salvage value at the end. Could any salvage value come from
taking this approach? Would there be any potential buyers for the used equipment if it was yours to
sell at the end of a useful life? These are all questions to consider along with the NPV and terms and
payments and financial stability of the company when determining whether one should buy or lease
something.
I would recommend that Mr. Jeffries take all the analysis he can consider into account before
making his decision keeping in mind that the revenues and expenses he will generate will be the
same regardless of whether he leases or buys the carts. I would then pick the option with highest
NPV and with the payments for both principal and interest that make sense for his company.

I Don t Believe Youths Should Be Jail For Having...
I don t believe youths should be jail for having consensual sex .Example ,I know of an individual
who had a daughter her age Sixteen years old was dating a seventeen year old boy ,the parents did
not approved the relationship ,but these two seem in love ,as soon as the boy turned eighteen her
mother had him arrested and charged for having sex with her daughter ,that ruined the young man
life, because that stigma as a sex offender, would prevent him from having opportunities in his life
,such as decent jobs. In 2007, Florida created a law known as Romeo and Juliet law, to address
issues such as high school youth being labeled as sexual offenders or sexual predictors, as a result
of participating in consensual sexual relationship. Reason being these stigma, can have long term
consequences, which can affect the offenders, ability to attend his or her child s school functions,
and where the offender can live.(Florida Senate ,2011). Several states have also participated in the
Romeo and Juliet Law this law intention is to protect young sexual offenders who are close in age
to their victims and engage in consensual sex ,from registering as sexual offenders. However
Florida, have done this using a motion or petition process for registration relief, some have
provided age gap provisions. Some states has legalize certain sexual condition between minors, and
/or those close in age to avoid not only registration requirement but to avoid but the criminal charge
