California Drought In The United States
Compared to more arid areas California has it easy in supply of water. Northern
California is a very lush area the issues running through all of California relate to water delivery and
recycling. An example of an area not having enough water is Afghanistan.
There is only 13 percent of the country that has drinking water available
(www.ecorazzi.com). Compared with California the delivery of the water is no drought an issue but
it s more of not having water in general.
We as California have at least before the drought did not have awareness of the water problem. Most
average Californians probably did not know about any water issues.
So the idea of conserving was not on their mind. So water smarts were not an aspect of people pre
drought.

The people of California are the utmost importance to change. With the support of the people
California can do anything. Voting for change is a empowerment the government gives to the
people. Many people can play a key role for example California senators and representatives even
motors of cities will have the challenge of getting the people heard. Getting the people to support
change in this topic it has to be sold to the people. This is a better time then ever to get the support
of the people because of the recent drought. Most people are relatively educated or at least aware
of issues the drought brung. Knowing that the people are no more the ever ready for change. The
obstacle is selling it. The facts need to be shown of the positives a new system would show.
As a Northern Californian I have an opinion that the twin tunnels project will not solve anything. It
will short term help supply SoCal with sufficient water but at the extent of NorCal. It just moves the
problem somewhere else. So in long term it will cause more problems compared to fixing them. A
plan needs to be put together that can create a steady movement and supply of water but even a
better recycling system. As
The Importance Of Marching Band
What is Marching Band? Marching band is not what people think. It strains your body and takes a
lot of hard work. An example of a practice would be, when you get there you start out by getting
into stretch block. While you are in stretch block, You might feel like you get harassed and annoyed
by the leadership. Then after you do that you go and tune with your particular section. Then, you go
back to music warm up. Finally you to practice. The most popular quote you hear, is when the Band
director says one more time, it is not really one more time. Onto leadership.

There are many different leadership positions in band to make the band run smoothly. The positions
are: Drum major, Band Captain, Lieutenant, Brass/Woodwind Captain, Section Leader, and
Librarian. The Drum Major is responsible for conducting the Raider Regiment in all rehearsals and
performances. They oversee uniform inspections, keeps time during breaks and transition time, and
oversees cleanliness of facilities. They are the most important part of leadership. The band Captain
Oversees program operations and reports to the Band Director. The band captain supports Section
Captains in their responsibilities, they supervise events, reports damage to the Director, plans and
conducts student leadership meetings with Director oversight. They oversee program operations in
the absence of a full time Band Director. They basically would run the band if the Band direction
left. The lieutenant is the assistant
Battle Of Francis Marion Research Papers
Promises that you make to yourself are often like the Japanese plum tree they bear no fruit, said
Francis Marion. The youngest son of six children from Gabriel and Esther Marion was born in
1732 at the family plantation in Berkeley County, South Carolina, whose name was soon to be
Francis Marion. The Marion family moved to a plantation in St. George when Francis was only a
toddler so that the children could receive an education in Georgetown, SC. When Francis turned
fifteen, he decided to take a job as a sailor and register as the sixth crewman on a schooner, which is
a type of sailing vessel with several masts. After a voyage to the West Indies, on the trip back the
ship was reported to be hit by whale and sunken. After a week in a... Show more content on

Just two years later in 1775, he was elected to the South Carolina Provincial Congress which
pushed for colonial self determination. Finally after an abundant amount of tension between the
England and the Colonies, there was an outbreak of the American Revolution. As the South
Carolina Provincial Congress formed three regiments, Marion received a commission as a
captain in the 2nd South Carolina Regiment. Authorized by William Moultrie, the regiment was
assigned to work to build Fort Sullivan in Charleston. After putting finishing touches on the fort,
Francis and his men enforced defense of the city of Charleston during the Battle of Sullivan s

British fleet into the Charleston Harbor to but was attempt an attack In the fighting, a British
invasion fleet led by Admiral Sir Peter Parker and Major General Henry Clinton attempted to
enter the harbor and was overthrown by Fort Sullivan s weapons. For Francis s effort in the battle,
he was promoted to lieutenant colonel in the Continental Army. Marion strived for the next three
years to train his men at the fort before he would accompany the failed Siege of Savannah in the
fall of 1779. In 1780, Francis returned to Charleston for a dinner party which wound up to be so
bad that he jumped out of a second story window to try to escape but actually breaks his
Essay We Must Have a Right to Privacy
The Information Age has emerged with speed, excitement, and great promise. The electronic eyes
and ears of technology follow us everywhere. There are those enamored with the rush of
technology, who b elieve that the best of worlds is one in which everyone can peer into everyone
else s lives. In fact, we now live in a world consumed with the ecstacyof communication (Karaim
76). Americans line up to reveal their darkest secrets of their m ost intimate moments, or just hang
out their dirty laundry on the numerous television talk shows. The more exposure, the better. So it
may be absurd that we should worry that our privacyis being endangered, our personal life and even
our se crets made public. The loss of privacy is on the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of the most popular devices today, which is used on toll roads, office buildings, banks, and
stores to deter crime is the surveillance camera. But how can a law abiding citizen protect his
privacy when he is constantly being filmed? The cellular phone, a best seller in the 1990 s, provid
es convenience of calling while on the go. Are the calls a person makes on these phones
confidential? No, a call can be intercepted and people who have police scanners can pick up
access numbers. Perhaps as popular as the convenience of using the cellu lar phone, is the ease of
paying by credit card. But even the cards can be monitored electronically, making everything that a
person purchases known to outsiders (Quittner 32 33). Then, of course, there is the Information
Superhighway, whose users numbe red 30 million in 1996. As citizens perform more social and
commercial transactions in cyberspace, it becomes easier to track down their spending habits,
interests, life styles, and beliefs. A computer expert can take any person s Social Security number
and find personal details abou this or her life and the history on the Internet (Everett Green 158).

What is troubling about the issue of privacy, assaults on that privacy by the Information
Superhighway, surveillance cameras, electronic tolls, and numerous other high tech devices, is that
there is little, if any, debate about whether such practic es are good for
Pulp Fiction Narrative
Pulp Fiction is a film directed by Quentin Tarantino and was released on May 12, 1994. The
movie is presented in a non linear format, wowing audiences at the time and making big stars out
of its actors. The central characters of the film are mob contractors Vincent Vega and Jules
Winnfield, played by John Travolta and Samuel L. Jackson, respectively, and Butch Coolidge, a
professional boxer and played by Bruce Willis. All three of them are connected by their association
with gangster Marsellus Wallace, played by Ving Rhames. Vega and Winnfield are tasked with
bringing a briefcase to Marsellus, their employer. Coolidge ends up killing his boxing opponent,
even though he was tasked by Marsellus to throw the match. After a series of violent events,... Show

After a long and eventful morning, Jules and Vincent enjoy breakfast at a local diner. As soon as
Vincent excuses himself to use the bathroom, a robbery unfolds. In an attempt to not only steal
Jules wallet, but also the briefcase, Ringo loses concentration long enough for Jules to grab
Ringo s gun, take out his own, and gain the upper hand of the situation. But Jules must now deal
with Yolanda, Ringo s partner and love interest. When Yolanda realizes that Ringo no longer has
his gun, but rather is looking down the barrel of Jules , she almost loses control. Jules disperses
the situation by referring to the famous character from Happy Days, suggesting that all three of
them act like three little Fonzies. This reference has the viewer smiling, when in real life one
would almost surely be paralyzed with terror; that is, when an insane burglar is set to shoot you
dead, it may not be the best idea to tell her to be cool like the Fonz. This behavior is utterly
opposed to the reactionary depiction of a gangster. Gangsters do not want to resolve situations
peacefully and make you chuckle, they want to murder you and take your things. Tarantino s ability
to make the viewer chuckle at inappropriate times is one of his defining features as a director and
writer. This adds to Pulp Fiction s authenticity, while also furthering the claim that Jules Winnfield
transcends the stereotype of a dull and violence driven

Dr. Joan McClennen The life experience students in the human services field bring with them may
affect their ability to interact with certain populations. These life experiences form the basis of each
individual s perceptions of certain situations, populations, or individuals. These perceptions may be
influenced by their political beliefs, religious values, social status, or previous experiences with
certain populations (Lee, Jones, Lewis, 1990).
The National Coalition for the Homeless, (n.d.) found there are over three million people homeless
in America at any given time. Research as shown that homeless individuals often are treated
differently just because of other people s perceptions toward them (Boydell, Goering, Morrell Bellai,
2000; Harter, Berquist, Titsworth, Novak, Brokaw, 2005). Persons wanting to work with homeless
individuals should be aware of any biases they bring with them when working with this population.
Homelessness in a growing problem in America today. Several studies have been performed
investigating the perceptions of students toward homeless people (Kane, Green, Jacobs, 2010;
Phillips, 2015; Speak, Tiple, 2006). Kane, et al. 2010 studied the perceptions of students in the
human service field toward people of different age or gender. This study found that

Understanding Apple SWOT Analysis Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) now has the largest market cap
of any company. It zoomed past Exxon Mobil (NYSE: XOM) and never looked back. It is one of the
most popular and recognized brands worldwide, although it seems to draw as much hatred from
some as love from others. So let s take a look at the iconic brand here a bit removed from the daily
headlines. I. Strengths 1 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This allows for a level of integration that otherwise is not available. It also allows for greatly
simplified quality assurance testing. In the end, Apple has been able to deliver an overall much
more solid, robust experience to the end users. This is prized by users who do not want to spend
time fixing their computer. I used to say that the problem with Apple was that they did not have
an open system, and that the problem with Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) is that they did. In
smartphones tablets, Research in Motion (NASDAQ: RIMM) is following this path with
Blackberry 10. 6 One less understood characteristic of Apple is the ability to wait. I think this is a
lesson learned from the Newton project one of the original PDAs with handwriting input, it failed
in part because it was too far ahead of its time, That is, it was a great idea (as Palm was to prove),
but the hardware technology of the time was not up to the task. Apple can work on an idea for years,
but wait for the moment in time when it can introduce a new product with sufficient power and style
to carry off the new functionality in a form meets their standards. Thus, the iPhone waited for the
development of LTE chips that met Apples specifications, particularly in terms of power
consumption. They would wait and be
