The Effects Of Pornography On Men And Women
The following speech focuses on how prolonged exposure to porn affects men and women, more
specifically how it affects the hypothalamus in the male brain. Men watch more porn than woman so
I first hypothesized that this difference in viewing weakens the hypothalamus and in turn leads to
desensitization with the act of natural sex. I then found scholarly sources to support my overall
claims. This speech will cover the following points: 1.) How Pornographydesensitizes the male
brain. 2.) How pornography causes its viewers to replicate porn style relationships in own life,
leading to lack of intimacy. (Detachment from reality) 3.) The effects of pornography have on
women 4.) How pornography promotes the objectification of women. These very small variables
play a huge role in weakening the male brain. In addition, I will briefly touch on why woman aren t
effected from an over exposure in the same manner as their male counter parts. The overall aim of
this paper is to reveal how this phenomenon effects males and why they should take immediate
action to not become a statistic.

Why men shouldn t watch too much porn.

A.One can infer that most men view or have viewed pornography at some point in their life.
According to Dr. Patrick F. Fagan, men are more than six times as likely to view pornography and
spend more time viewing it when compared to females. Most males first view pornography during
adolescence at age 13 and continue watching through adulthood.

An Evaluation of the Effects of a Global Advertising Campaign
An evaluation of the effects of a global advertising campaign
Advertising is a general method used by many companies and organizations all over the world.
Those organizations or companies use advertising in order to increase selling of the company
goods as well as services. More than one hundreds of ads are publicized throughout the mass media
such as television, newspaper, radio, billboards as well as the internet. These channels are major
tools that we use and see in everyday life. Nevertheless, not many products will be successful, nor
become remembrance for everyone. However, PEPSI advertisings are different. This is because
most of their customers have brand loyalty which probably the key to the company success. Hence,

Pepsi created this ad aiming children as its target group in the hope to expand the market but the
reaction of Indian people was far from what they expected.
Pepsi advertising in India, depicting a young Indian boy carrying a tray of Pepsi drinks to the
players of Indian national cricket team, was claimed by Indian child labour activists to promote
child labour. Child labour activists filed a complaint seeking to ban the ad as they viewed the ad
as the media trying to undermine the dignity of children and harm the sense of morality. They
insisted the media should know better to take responsibility in protecting children rights. Pepsi,
however, denied the charge. Pepsi did not believe the ad had any intention to promote child labour
and in no way violated the anti child labours principles. Pepsi argued that the ad was about cricket
and how the sport brings joy and excitement to the young. The child labour activist group involved
in this case is known to have targeted other companies on similar charges in the recent past (Rose,
2004). As a result, the miscommunication in Pepsi ad resulted in the protest by child labour activists
and followed by the prohibition of the ad in India. If Pepsi put this advertisement in some other
countries the result might be different since all countries have different cultures and different points
of view. One should think of every aspect that would have the effect on the people when it comes to
advertisement.
My Abstinence Experience
For my abstinence experience, I decided to give up Korean media for nine weeks. This type of
media included YouTube videos involving reality shows of different popular Korean figures,
Korean shows, and news involving Korean popular culture. I chose this habit because it has been
a part of my life for a few years now. Last year, I noticed that I was addicted to watching Korean
shows and other Korean media on YouTube up to a point where I would watchit almost every day
and I was not able to get through the day without watching at least part of an episode. It came to a
point where I was watching these shows during school (high school) when we were given a work
day. Instead of doing work, I would engage myself in watching these shows. During my... Show

Almost every day, I would have thoughts about watching Korean media. When it came to the
second week of abstaining, I had constant thoughts certain scenes and certain episode of shows
that I watched before. This proves that Korean media was a part of my life and I was essentially
taking it away. I had feelings of extreme boredom because I never really knew what to occupy
myself with when I had spare time. I noticed that I increased my behavior of listening to music,
especially Korean pop. I also noticed that I started to be a little more social than I was before.
During the first 4 weeks, I was actually surprised at how I felt without Korean media and how it
started to change my way of going about spending my spare time. During the last 5 weeks, the
thoughts of using started to decrease a little and I continued to behave in the way I did during the
first 4 weeks. I was talking to people a lot more and I was soothing my stresses by not consuming
my time with Korean media, but instead listening to music. My extreme boredom turned into
extreme productivity. I was getting a lot of my priorities done and I also started to enjoy getting
high marks in my classes, because I noticed that before, a lot of the reason for my low grades were
because I was using up a lot of my time watching Korean shows. Just like the first 4 weeks, I was
surprised at how much time I was wasting just by
The Eyes Of Mahatma Gandhi, Harriet Tubman, And Oprah
Are human rights prominent enough to be defended? In the eyes of Gandhi, Harriet Tubman, and
Oprah, they are. Gandhi was a man who wanted to end racial justice in all parts of the world, while
Harriet Tubman wanted to help guide the slaves from the South to the North so that they can live a
free life. However, instead of taking a more direct approach, Oprah Winfreyused a public method.
These three passionate individuals stood up to enact change by fighting for human rightsand staying
persistent and determined. Mahatma Gandhi enacted change by striving to end racial injustice. He
did this to show that anyone of any race or religion should have equal rights. According to Satyagraha
: Gandhi s Legacy , it states, Gandhi developed his philosophy of Satyagraha, or resistance through
non violent civil disobedience to defend his rights and the rights of all Indians and non whites
(Studysync Editors). Gandhi himself had been faced with discrimination. However, instead of
ignoring the situation, Gandhi took a stand and did what was right to ensure equality among all
people. The Studysync Editors stay, As had been the case in the southern United States, Indians and
other non white people were forced to ride at the back of trains, use separate facilities, and were
treated as second class citizens. Gandhi believed that this was wrong . With his opinions in mind,
Gandhi decided to get his beliefs out by starting non violent protest. As the leader he was, he lead

Persuasive Essay On Finding Nemo
I m very excited that you have decided to let us students help pick the name, mascot, and color of
the new school because I believe it is great to have the students involved in the county. If I were to
choose, I would name the school Nemo, make the mascot a clownfish, and have the colors be blue
and orange.
First of all, I would name the school Nemo because I love one of the themes in the movie Finding
Nemo. In the movie Dory sings just keep swimming, until they get to Sydney, which I think could be
an important part in the school. It can encourage students that no matter how much homework they
might have, how low their grades are, or how far behind they are that they just need to keep pushing
on until they succeed. In our society today,
The Photography Of The Freer Gallery
The Freer Dagger, called such because it currently resides in the collection of the Freer Gallery, is
an example of the finely crafted arms and armory created in the Islamic world throughout history.
(Fig 1) However, despite it taking the form of a weapon, the construction, materials, and decoration
of this dagger suggests that it was most likely not used for combat purposes, but instead served
primarily as a symbolic accessory, or a form of protective amulet. The bladeis made of curved
watered steel that has been ribbed.(Fig 2)With it s complex pattern of dark and light lines , the
pattern of the steel indicates that the blade was worked a great deal as it was forged, and then
etched in order to reveal the watered pattern.1 This... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first and second cartouches on each side consist of persian inscriptions against a vegetal
ground, while the center contains Koranic inscriptions in Arabic on a plain background. The sheath
has a similar decorative layout to the handle. At the opening for the blade, there is an oval
cartouche, with inscriptions. Along the length of the sheath are six more cartouches, linked
together, alternating between being filled with scrolls and inscriptions. The remaining areas are
filled with gold inlaid vegetal and floral scrolls, as well as with stylized depictions of deer and
birds. The center cartouche is now empty, having been scraped, and probably once contained the
name of the patron or owner, or similar identifying information.4 The remaining cartouches contain
Persian inscriptions. The decorative scheme of the dagger and sheath is overall very symmetrical
and balanced, resulting in a very stable and harmonious composition, despite the wide range of
decorative techniques that have been applied to it. The dagger and sheath together contain a Persian
poem, read first from the handle (front, then back), then around the sheath from the opening to the
tip. The complete inscription reads: In the time of the reign of the Zand emperor The just king,
ruler, heir to Dara, Khan of the world, favorite of Ali, Master of the time, lord of
`` Daddy `` By Sylvia Plath
Over six million innocent lives were taken during the Holocaust. It had a significant effect on
much of the world s population, and it still has an impact to this day. In Sylvia Plath s poem,
Daddy , she shows her emotions for her father, Otto Plath. Sylvia Plath lost her father at eight
years old when she still had much love for him (Famous People Biography ). After a number of
years, hatred is built up inside of Sylvia towards her father. When her father first died, she loved
him and she grieved over her father s death. After years of confusion, she eventually decided and
wrote, Daddy, Daddy, you bastard, I m through (Line 80). In Daddy by Sylvia Plath, the author
resents her father and husband so much that they are comparable to Nazi Germans, showing her
feelings for them through poetic devices. The speaker says that her German father is like a Nazi
and that she feels like a Jew. This metaphor is the most powerful one in the entire poem. It shows
us as readers how she feels like she is a victim of her father. She never directly calls him a Jew
though. She points to the fact using metaphors and imagery. For example, the author wrote: I
thought every German was you. And the language obscene An engine, an engine Chuffing me off
like a Jew. A Jew to Dachau, Auschwitz, Belsen. I began to talk like a Jew. I think I may well be a
Jew. ( Daddy Lines 29 35) She compares the German language to a train, taking her to a
concentration camp. Her father speaks German so this
Analysis Of The Poem Lycidas By Paul J. Alpes
The traditional pastoral poems follow a creative style that romanticize rural life and landscapes,
which drifted away from industrialization. The quintessential pastoral poems have been described by
Paul J. Alpes as a double longing after innocence and happiness; that it is based on philosophical
antithesis of Art and Nature; that its universal idea is the Golden Age; that its fundamental motive is
hostility to urban life. (10). Some literary critics have made the assertion that Milton s poem Lycidas
follows the traditional pastoralconventions, for instance, Samuel Johnson recognized the poem as a
traditional pastoral because it depicted an idealized life of rural leisure. Moreover, he claims that

The speaker challenges the customary idyllic landscape like the laurels and myrtles by
destructively picking the flowers and berries off the trees, instead of the speaker being grounded
in nature like the other speakers in traditional pastoral poems, he destroys it. Furthermore, Milton
turns the pastoral into one of mourning because the speaker s compulsion for disturbing nature
before season due all stems from the death of Lycidas who died in his prime . As the poem
continues, the speaker explains the romanticized pastoral landscape where he and Lycidas were
once shepherds: For were nursed upon the self same hill, / Fed the same flock, by the fountain,
shade, and rill. Together both, ere the high lawns appeared (23 25). These lines display how the
speaker can reach nostalgia with these pastoral fantasies that distance him away from reality.
However, the speaker soon leaves the romantic when he laments about Lycidas: And old Damoetas
loved to hear our song. / But O the heavy change, now thou art gone, (36 37). The speaker being
able to come back to reality demonstrates how the Milton is unable to emphasize the traditional
romantic pastoral setting of peace and joy because of the emotional anguish the speaker has.
Furthermore, Milton alludes to the fact that one must remove themselves from an idealized world
for them to grieve properly. The amount of control that the speaker had over his decision to leave
his pastoral fantasy is
People have been asking what FINA is going to do about the...
People have been asking what FINA is going to do about the world records set using the now
banned swim suits. Thirty eight of the forty two world records have been broken by swimmers
wearing the LZR Racer while it was legal. Twenty three of these records were set at the 2008
summer Olympics in Beijing with the suits on. Ninety four percent of the gold medals were won by
people wearing these swim suits and eighty nine percent of the total medals won were by swimmers
in these illegal suits (Cole, 2008). These statistics say a lot about how much the polyurethane swim
suits have changed the sport of competitive swimming. Records are made to be broken, but it is a
clear indication that these suits should not be allowed when twenty three world... Show more content

The most plausible option, however, is to place an asterisk mark next to every record set with the
polyurethane swimsuits. Fortunately, FINA has come to this conclusion and from now on the
records set in the LZR Racer swim suits (or in any other now banned swim suit) will remain in
their own separate asterisked category. The old records held before the suits will also stand in a
different category to be broken by people wearing legal swim suits that are FINA approved and
are going to stay FINA approved. FINA has stated that world records in any competition will only
be recognized as world records if the swimmer was wearing a FINA approved swim suit (FINA,
2013). Both of these categories should be equally credible, the only difference is some records are
with the swim suits and some are without the swim suits. This issue has caused a huge riot
throughout competitive swimming. FINA has done the best they can at covering up a mistake that
shouldn t have been made in the first place; swimming, however, will never be the same. If they
bring these suits back, this will all happen again. Why repeat past mistakes?
Legal Advancement in Swimming Accessories
Much has been done to improve swimming as a sport. After much research and experimenting, we
have learned that by making pools deeper and building gutters around the edges of the pool, we can
reduce the amount of waves working against the swimmer. Lane lines also help keep each swimmers
waves in their own
Significance Of Vlad The Third Or Vlad The Impaler
In 1897, Bram Stoker wrote Dracula, the story of a monstrous Transylvanian count who terrorized
local villages and fed on the peasants who lived in them. The book is today widely recognized as a
historically significant literary work, and its importance has caused many scholars to debate whether
Bram Stoker s main character Draculawas actually inspired by real historical figures. Although all
evidence used in the debate is somewhat unreliable, it can be established that Bram Stoker based his
character Count Draculaon historical figures to a certain extent. Many scholars believe that Vlad
the 3rd or Vlad the Impaler was the direct inspiration for Count Dracula. Vlad the 3rd was the son
of King Vlad the 2nd Dracul and as Prince, was the heir... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Interestingly enough, after people discovered these murders she had committed, she was never
put on trial, instead she was locked away in her castle till the day she died, which was on August
21, 1614. Like Dracula, Elizabeth was well educated and she was taught to read and write in
several different languages, including the language of the peasants. Like Count Dracula, Elizabeth
Bathory s status as a noble person gave her almost complete control over the peasants who lived
in the villages she controlled. Elizabeth Bathory was able to bring young girls into her castle by
offering food and money ( Elizabeth Bathory 0:6:17 0:7:00), but when these girls never returned
home it wasn t noticed or cared about by the King because the massive debt the King owed to her
