William Of Orange And James II And The Glorious Revolution
Background On July 1 1690, William of Orange and James II led their respective armies into
battle at the River Boyne. James II was a Catholic king who gained power in England after King
Charles II died in 1685. Many of James opponents were Protestant, and they were strongly against
the Catholic monarch. James daughter, Mary, was married to William of Orange, and she was
Protestant. For many years, Mary was James only child. This meant that if James II died, she would
take the throne. This brought great comfort to the Protestant groups in Ireland, as their ruler would
no longer be Catholic. However, when James wife had a son, the crown would be passed to him,
and England would have another Catholic monarch. This caused panic and outrage from James
Protestant opponents, which led them to invite William of Orange to invade England and overthrow
James II (BBC: Battle of the Boyne). William accepted, and he and his army invaded England in
November of 1688. The invasion was successful, and William and Mary were awarded the throne
as joint monarchs. This event was known as the Glorious Revolution . For a year, James II chose
not to fight. Many English nobles were taking the side of William. This made James reluctant to
attempt to regain the throne (BBC: Battle of the Boyne).

The flintlock musket. Ironically, the flintlock musket was originally designed for King Louis by a
Frenchman named Marin le Bourgeoys. As opposed to matchlock, flintlock muskets didn t require a
lit match to ignite the gunpowder. Instead, the flintlock created a spark that did this. The shooter no
longer had to use a match to fire the weapon. This increased the fire rate and limited the amount of
gunpowder used while shooting. This innovation led to the birth of the modern firearm (The

Comparing Mason City, Iowa
There are many beautiful places around the world to live, choosing one is a very difficult
decision. There is also a lot of different countries but the United States is where I will stay, even in
America, though, there is such a variety of places to live. Savannah, Georgia has caught my eye
in many ways but I don t know if I could ever leave small town Iowa, like Mason City. While
considering these two places, I know that there are a few things that I have to keep in mind such as
the job outlook, cost of living, things to do, and one of the most important, weather. Mason City,
Iowa has a lot going on when it comes to weather: below zero winters, blazing hot summers, and in
between autumns and springs. Iowans seem to get it all. The average annual high temperature isn t
actually very high, with a low number of fifty six... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One you get a small community feeling and other is close to a small community I know and grew
up in. When it comes to weather, Mason City experiences various types whereas Savannah is mostly
warm and predictable. Both cities, however, have high humidity. Another thing they have in
common is the growth of the occupation of a physician assistant and the cost of living is fairly
close as well. Crime wise, Mason City seems the safer route with my family being close by and it
having a lower crime rate in general. There is a lot more things to do in Savannah than in Mason
City, I wouldn t find myself getting bored with all the history to explore. Mason City, however, is
closer to my family and I know the area. Because both places are lovely and great places to live, I
could see myself living in both. I think that moving out of Iowa to Savannah after college before I
settle down would be a great eye opener and allow me to experience more American culture. I
would love the history and being close to the beach at all times. Then, like my parents, when I m
ready to settle down, move back to Iowa close to
The And Divine Command Theory Overview
Expressivisim and Divine Command Theory overview

Moral Nihilism states that the world contains no moral features and under this theory are two
theories which are error theory and expressivism. The reason that both of these theories are under
Moral Nihilism is because they both believe the statement that there are no moral features in the
world and that no moral judgements are true. The defining point of Error Theory is that it believes
that our moral judgements try and always fail to describe the moral features of things. Although
expressivism is a little different, they believe that morality doesn t exist, but they don t think there is
anything is wrong with it. They believe that at the core of our moral believes that there is no true ...

Take for example:
1.Killing of innocent life is immoral
2.When people kill young animals they are taking innocent human lives
3.Therefore eating baby animals is immoral
If expressivism is true this argument is false because there are no moral feature and everything is
just an expression of emotion. Therefore it cannot be a logical argument. This is a hard pill to
swallow because we have been having moral arguments for years, so how can we say that
expressivism is correct? Also another factor that puts a hole in the theory is an Amoralist. An
amoralist is a person who strongly believes an action is right, but is completely indifferent when it
comes to actually doing them. Now if this person exist then this negates all of expressivist teaching,
because to an amoralists, emotions are not a factor in the reason why they believe things are right. If
Error Theory is correct ethics is in a lot of trouble. Ethics is the knowledge of moral principles, and
if error theory is correct this knowledge is nonexistent and now false. The Knowledge that has been
obtained is now just said to be emotional ties and nothing more. So if expressivist are right it
jeopardizes all of morality meaning that nothing is right or wrong anymore just simply an expression
of personal emotion. After reviewing expressivism I think that it fails, because when you take
psychopaths for instance they know what they did was wrong but they

Mandy and the Story of Courage This is me, Mandy. I m a twelve year old girl. I have brown hair
always in pigtails. Sadly, I m an orphan because when I was two, my parents thought I wasn t
good enough for them. But look on the bright side, I m in a cool, small orphanage with the
manager, Ms. Lomesto, in charge. I actually made these cool two friends Lisa and Betty, but they
aren t that right for me because they always want to sneak out of the orphanage. I m not smart like
them, so it doesn t work. Anyway, my dream is to go to the Fun Fair because of the cotton candy,
the games, and the prizes! But that will never happen because we can t escape the orphanage.
Anyway, one day Lisa, Betty and I were sitting for lunch until they had this plan. Their plan was to
escape.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
No, it s not, Betty replied. Well, I m gonna give it a tiny no, I said, and I walked away, rolling my
eyes, heading to my room. Then I saw Ms. Lomesto. She said, Mandy, go outside and pick up the
mail, please, so I went to get the mail. When I got it, I read, Free Fun Fair Tickets on Anise Road.
Last Call! So I looked both ways and went there, but then, nothing was there. All I saw was
construction. I looked at the mail again: on Shervine Road. I read it wrong. I ran as fast as I could,
so I d make it in time before they noticed. When I made it, I noticed that I didn t say sorry for
leaving Lisa and Betty, and still, nothing was there. I looked at the mail again and it read, Edited by
George. That meant it was all fake, so I went back. When I was back, Lisa said, Where were you?

Maxwell Equations Essay
when attached to a solenoid it gives it a lot of power to do things like power houses. The solenoid
makes the electromagnetic field stronger causing it to do more and bigger tasks.
Multiple scientist developed theories about electromagnetism. One of the most popular ones is the
Maxwell Equations. The Maxwell equations are equations explaining electromagnetism and how it
works. These equations were formed by different equations and experiments. According to (Gale,
2001, WWW)Albert Einstein James Clerk Maxwell set the platform for physics and future
scientists. Maxwell s theories were opposite from what other people thought. Maxwell´s theories
also didn t have a lot of mistakes but there were quite a few mistakes in the velocity area. Maxwell s
theories brought a big change to electromagnetism. His theory connected and brought electricity and
magnetism together.
Maxwell was the first to collect and publish research about ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Albert einstein was born in Ulm, Germany he even own a nobel prize for physics (Gale, 2008,

successful scientist. Doing research on electrons einstein discover electromagnetism was wrapped in
the energy of electrons. Einstein gave credit to other scientist such as James Clerk Maxwell and
even went as far as to say they set they set the platform for modern physics. Another scientist that
helped with this discovery was Heinrich Hertz. In the 1880s Hertz produced electromagnetic waves,
these waves went farther than visible light could these waves are now called radio waves. Hertz
(Gale, 2006, WWW)contributed quite a bit to electromagnetism, not only did he discover the waves
but he did research in the topic of electromagnetic radiation. He didn t always want to be a scientist

7 Deadly Sins In Hamlet Research Paper
In the play Hamlet by William Shakespeare, there are many of the seven deadly sins used to show
feeling, however the most prominent of the seven would definitely be wrath. Of course all of the
seven deadly sins were used in the play, and many were very prevalent and reasonable. The sin that
stood out to me the most however, was wrath. The play started off with an envious sin being
committed but from there that sin quickly disappeared. Lust was also prevalent in a few scenes but
quickly faded; whereas wrath quickly and constantly increased each scene and once it started I didn
t see it fade out like the others.
Act 1, scene 5 of Hamlet, lines 43 92 consist of the ghost of Hamlet s father talking about how his
own death went about. He claimed that Claudius, Hamet s uncle, saw his father napping outside in
the courtyard and decided to put poison in his ear. His father quickly awoke and began choking,
thus resulting in him lying there dead only moments later. Claudius committed this tragic sin
because he felt envious over what his brother had the title of king, a beautiful wife, and wealth. That
envy quickly built into wrath and that s when Claudius decided to take it all for himself. Hamlet s
father uses guilt to persuade ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Laertes and Claudius had planned his death out of wrath of Laertes father´s death. They planned to
have Hamlet and Laertes sword fight, and eventually plant the same poison that killed Hamlet´s
father, onto Hamlet. However so, this trap did not go anything like planned. Hamlet at first began
to beat Laertes in the first rounds of sword fighting, resulting in Hamlet´s mother wanting to
celebrate with a drink. Thanks to Laertes and Claudius, that was poison that she drank. Even more
raged due to fact he just killed the wife he literally killed to get, Claudius rubs the poison on Laertes
sword, who successfully manages to slice it into Hamlet s
Kony 2012
When I was a senior in high school, I participated in the Kony 2012 and Invisible Children social
movement that focused on highlighting and identifying the controversies happening in Africa as a
result of the Lord s Resistance Army (LRA) and their leader Joseph Kony. While I had no prior
knowledge to what the charity, Invisible Children, stood for, it was not until the popular video
Kony 2012 released on YouTube that I wanted to be actively involved in the campaign. The Kony
2012 movement had identifiable leaders who were the creators of the viral video, which included
Jason Russell. At the same time, the movement included the Invisible Children organization, which
Russell is a founder of, which the video came as a result of. The movement was not established by a
government office and was targeted to reaching anyone who came across the viral... Show more

During the heightened popularity of the initial Kony 2012 video that was what many people
were talking about and it even cause several politicians to rethink strategies in Africa and
motivated them enough to pass a resolution to send troops near the lines of the LRA. It was
successful in its initial goal for awareness, but it was highly criticized for creating inaccurate
depictions of what was going on in Africa as well. The movement gained support from the US
government and as a result became a part of the social norm during that year in activism, but would
be forgotten by a majority of the public in the next year. Besides this brief resolution, the movement
did not encourage many to join the cause of Invisible Children and resulted in many forgetting their
support and the movement entirely. Russell s controversy tainted the image of the Kony movement,
which may have impacted the Cover the Night event. Kony 2012 is a success because it asked
people to go to action, but it failed because no
