Analysis Of A Raisin In The Sun
In A Raisin in the Sun by Lorraine Hansberry many character have dreams. Beneatha s to become a
doctor, Mama s to buy a house and Walter s to own a liquor store. These dreams affect each
character differently. In A Raisin in the Sun, Lorraine Hansberry illustrates Walter Lee s dream of
owning a liquor store affects him negatively by causing him to constantly be thinking about money
and causing him to make bad decisions, it also affects him positively, by teaching him an important
life lesson.

Walter Lee s dream of owning a liquor store impacts him negatively because it makes him desperate
for money and constantly worrying his financial situation. It has been in his mind so much that it is
almost all he thinks about, he is constantly asking Mama when his father, Big Walter s life
insurance check will arrive. Walter Did it come, Mama Can t you give people a Christian greeting
before you start asking about money. (Hansberry 70) Walter s constant worrying about when the life
insurance money will arrive impacts his life negative because it leaves him stuck on the thought of
money. If he is always thinking about money then he isn t thinking about other important things like
his family or his work. Furthermore since he is always thinking about the life insurance money it
means that his thoughts will be snowballed. First he is always thinking about when the money will
come, then he will be stuck thinking about what the Younger s will do with the money and if he will

Rawls Social Justice Theory
The four social responsibilities of business theories are all equally important, however the one
that I am able to support most enthusiastically is Rawls Social Justice Theory. While deciding
which of the theories I could support, I found Rawls theory to be the most well rounded and
versatile of them all. More importantly, it is easily adaptable to ever changing business, and social
environments, and in the world we live in today we all know how quickly everything is changing
around us. John Locke and Jean Jacques Rousseau developed the social justice theory under the
presumption that each person entered into a social contract with all others in society to obey moral
rules that are necessary for people to live in peace and harmony (Chessman).
Characteristics Of Femininity In British Literature
According to The Broadview Anthology of British Literature, There was much debate concerning the
proper place of women and the ideal characteristics of femininity throughout the nineteenth century
(610). Formally, the Victorian Era followed the reign of Queen Victoria in England from 1837 to
1901, but the era is not so rigidly set. The ideologies, values, and mores associated with the Victorian
Erawere present before Queen Victoria, and then followed into America and also lived sixty years
past its recorded date of death. In the United States during the 1950s and 60s, the idea of femininity
was still being explored, just as it was a century prior in another country. Women in the Victorian Era
and in 1950s and 1960s America experienced similar oppressions, suppressions, questionings of
worth and intelligence, and similar legal restrictions.
American female authors such as Sylvia Plath and Adrienne Rich called on their dexterous writing
abilities to convey their feelings of displeasure in regards to women s treatment in the 1950s and
1960s. In Sylvia Plath s The Bell Jar, Esther Greenwood is a young woman of 1950s America, but
she has thoughts, opinions, and feelings that do not align with those of her society. Similarly,
Adrienne Rich s poem Aunt Jennifer s Tigers features a woman whose society has found its way
into her personal life and her home. Both women cannot escape the Victorian worlds in which they
live. Esther attempts to reject it and fight against it, while

Many studies in consumer buying behavior have suggested that shopping orientation and store image

Western Religion
The main Western religions are Christianity, Judaism, and Islam. The common core of these three
religions is faith or belief in one God. Mysticism is a constellation of distinctive practices, discourses
texts, institutions, traditions, and experiences aimed at human transformation, variously defined in
different traditions. Spirituality is a process of re formation which aims to recover the original shape
of man, the image of God. Western Christianityconsists of the Latin Church, Catholic Church, and a
variety of Protestant denominations. Some of the central beliefs of Christianity are that Jesus is the
son of God. The Trinity, which is the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit allows

die you will be going to heaven if you were a good Christian or Muslim or if you were not, you
would be sent to hell. Another core belief Islam have are that angels are like a middle man with
God and The Prophets. Spirituality in the Islam religion is just like your everyday life if you are a

with God s pleasure. Islam mysticism is called Sufis and their way to life is

SPECTROPHOTOMETRIC DETERMINATION OF EQUILIBRIUM CONSTANT FOR A

REACTION

ABSTRACT

UV VIS spectrophotometry is one of the most widely used methods for determining and identifying
many inorganic species. During this experiment, this spectrophotometry was used to determine the
equilibrium constant, Keq, of the Fe3+(aq)+SCN (aq)↔ FeSCN2+(aq) reaction. By determining the
amount of light absorbed, the concentration of the colored FeSCN2+ solution was also quantitatively
determined. From that data, the concentrations of the reagents at equilibrium may also be
determined. This experiment should thus provide a Keq value without computing for the
concentration of each of the species in the reaction. This ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Beer s Law states that absorbance is directly proportional to the concentration c of the absorbing
species, and to the path length b of the absorbing medium by a proportionality constant called the
absorptivity a. In our experiment, we expressed the concentration of the absorbing species in terms
of mol/L and the path length in centimetres. Thus, the proportionality constant becomes the molar
absorptivity ε. We set the wavelength of the spectrophotometer to 447 nm so we could achieve
maximum sensitivity. At this point, the change in absorbance per unit of concentration is greatest
and there is greater adherence to Beer s Law.

make noise that might frighten animals. Intersect they give way to any pedestrians and vehicles.

Presenting Issue and Background Mr X is a 45 year old man who has worked at the same Estate
Agency for 18 years. He has presented to me with the issue that he would like to apply for the
manager s position at his branch but his lack of confidence is holding him back. Mr X has stood
in for the current manager on many occasions so he knows that he is capable of doing the job but
has reservations as he doesn t want to cause any upset amongst the other staff or management if he
is not successful. Further discussion with Mr X revealed that one of the reasons he would like the
job as manager is so that his mother would be proud of him and show him a little more respect. She
is currently living in a home and he visits her regularly every... Show more content on

However, as the lack of confidence seems to be prevalent in many different parts of Mr X s life, and
having taken all of the information provided into account, I believe he is suffering from a lack of
self esteem as well as confidence. I would go as far as to suggest that his relationship with his
mother probably has a lot to do with his current confidence and self esteem issues. It seems as
though she still has a lot of control over her son and he considers her thoughts and feelings above
everything else. I believe he is always searching for her approval and respect and maybe this is
another reason for not asking his girlfriend to marry him as his mother may not approve. I believe
there is a secondary gain for Mr X in that if he increases his confidence enough to apply for the
manager s job and gets it he will then be in a position where he will feel as if he is a good enough
prospect to propose to his girlfriend. If she were to say yes then that opens up a whole new set of
issues regarding his family and specifically his mother. Will his mother approve of his girlfriend
and their impending marriage? Will his mother understand and accept that he will then have
other family related responsibilities which may take priority over her? Or is Mr X really as keen to
be in a position to propose to his girlfriend as he says? He calls her a sort of girlfriend and to me this
doesn t suggest he s
The Pros And Cons Of Shingled Roofing
Anyone who has owned an asphalt shingled roof has seen the black streaks that form in the areas
on the roof that get less sunlight. Commonly mistaken for mold, these streaks are actually algae
that feed off of the limestone filler used in the shingles. This algae is not only an eyesore, left
unchecked it can cause the granules on your shingles to fall off. It is a good idea to get rid of this
menace as soon as you notice it. Most of the New Orleans roofing experts agree that a homeowner
should use a non corrosive roof cleaner. This will ensure that you do not cause any unnecessary
harm to the roof. There are many to choose from at most hardware stores. Make sure that whatever
day you plan to clean your roof, it is cool and calm out. If it
The Omnivore s Dilemma Summary
How much do you really know about the food you eat? Reading the book The Omnivore s Dilemma
by Michael Pollan, Getting Real About the High Price of Our Cheap Food by Bryan Walsh, and the
movie Food Inc. gave me an idea of how our food is made and what is in it. Also reading the books
gave me an idea, Michael Pollanmostly talked about corn and Bryan Walsh talking about high prices
of our cheap food. Robert Kenner explains how we should look into our food to save us from
getting sick or becoming obese.

Michael Pollans argument is how corn is in everything we eat. His claim is, most of what we eat
is corn, in one way or another. Corn is in pills, diapers, charcoal, and batteries. That s crazy. We
don t eat batteries or diapers. When we eat our food it just doesn t taste like a ball of corn. His
evidence is corn feeds the steer that becomes your steak, the chicken that lays your eggs, the pig
that becomes your pork, the catfish in the catfish farm, and the corn that feeds your dairy cow that
becomes your milk, cheese and ice cream. Everybody thinks since corn is a
Bunn 2 vegetable it s in all of our foods we re eating healthier and getting our vegetables but were
not. Just because corn is a vegetable doesn t mean the corn in our food is healthy. Most of the corn
in our bad foods is High Fructose Corn Syrup. It s that sweet taste in most of our foods but just
because its made out of corn doesn t mean it s healthier for us. All that extra stuff is doing is adding
