Zebra 2.

1 ReadMe
Congratulations for obtaining the demo version or full version respectively of u-he Zebra2 - it's a great software synthesizer. But before you start, please read these lines to ensure the best user experience!

Before you install

If you already have an older version of Zebra 2.0 installed it is recommended to backup your presets because the ones coming with this download have been updated, adjusted and newly sorted. Some have been discarted even, so if you miss one of your favourites, it's still gonna be in your backup. It's furtherly recommended to remove existing les associated with Zebra 2.0, such as the infamous (but now deprecated) uhe_data directory on Windows.

Installation Quick Guide

VST Windows: Please make sure that "msvcr71.dll" is installed in your System32 directory. If it isn't there, you can just download it here: http://www.dll-les.com/dllindex/dll-les.shtml?msvcr71 When you got that, just doubleclick Zebra2Installer.exe and follow the instructions Audio Units: copy Zebra2.component to following location: Macintosh HD/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/ copy the folders "Zebra2" and "Zebralette" to following location: Macintosh HD/Library/Audio/Presets/u-he/ VST Mac: copy Zebra2.vst to following location: Macintosh HD/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST/ copy the folder "Zebra2" and "Zebralette" to following location: Macintosh HD/Library/Audio/Presets/u-he/

What's new in 2.1?

Version 2.1 adds several bugxes and improvements such as import for .tun les and context menus for MidiLearn. Of course, lots of new presets were added. It also adds two new lter modules, XMF1 and XMF2. Being based on a MiniMooglike ladder architecture, these lter types provide for extremely analoguish and screaming sounds. They are self-oscillating and do FilterFM (with SideChain).

Presets
The presets that come with Zebra are in ".h2p" format. This is a proprietary preset format for newer (released after September 2006) u-he plugins. These presets can't be loaded via the host interface, they can only be loaded from within the software itself. It has compressed portions and thus it is considerably smaller than .fxp or .aupreset, thereby minimizing the download times and bandwidth for the software. If you prefer to have the presets in .fxp or .aupreset formats, separate downloads are available here: http://www.zebrasynth.com/index.php?item=downloads

User Manual
An evergrowing manual is available online here: http://www.zebrasynth.com/manual/ It is based on blogging software because Zebra is an evolving software with a complexity that requires additions and clarication in the manual every now and then. Also, tutorials and other features are planned. An offline version will be made available for download as soon as possible.

System Requirements
System Requirements apply as stated here: http://www.zebrasynth.com/index.php?item=technical Now have fun! Urs Heckmann (c) 2004-2007 Urs Heckmann VST is a trademark of Steinberg Media Technologies AG. Audio Units is a trademark of Apple Inc.
