Nazi Propaganda In The 1940s
Propaganda is in use practically everywhere and has been for hundreds of years. Various forms of
propaganda has been used throughout history to effectively relay different messages, such as
positive messages or harmful, discriminatory messages. However, all forms of propaganda are
utilized with the same intent to alter public perceptions into the initiator s beliefs. Propaganda can
vary from being an innocent company slogan, such as Apple s Think Different , to the crucial factor
that determines the difference between winning and losing a war. Example.......... Propaganda itself
is neither sinister nor evil. It is really no more than the organization of methods designed to persuade
people to think and behave in a certain way, and in wartime that usually means getting them to fight
or to support the fight. Though propaganda has been used in various ways... Show more content on

The film Der Ewige Jude , The Eternal Jew, is a prime example of anti Semitic Nazi propaganda
during the 1940 s. In The Eternal Jew, also translated as The Wandering Jew , the Jews are
portrayed as mere parasites who live off the hard work and effort of the Germans. The Jews who
possessed riches were accused of earning it through usury, swindling, and fraud (The Eternal Jew,
35:11). Fritz Hippler, the director of the film, also depicted the Jews as rats, which accentuated the
belief that Jews were subhuman specimens. Whenever rats appear they bring ruin, they ravage
human property and foodstuffs. In this way they spread disease. They represent the elements of
sneakiness and subterranean destruction among animals. Just as the Jews do among mankind
(Giesen 2003). This dehumanization not only created fear and resentment towards the Jews, but it
also allowed the Germans to justify the atrocities they inflicted upon the Jews. It s wrong to kill a
person, but permissible to exterminate a rat ( Smith

Title: Community Relations for NIKE

Author: Isuri Rajapaksa
Faculty Sponsor: Katrina J. Quinn

Abstract:
This case study examines the community relations efforts of Nike Inc. This project gives an
overview of the company and shows how the community relations programs can be developed
globally. It also consists of the comparison between Nike and Toms. Finally this case study also
includes and insight on an interview, suggestions and an evaluation.

Nike is a multinational corporation founded by Phil Knight and Bill Bowerman in 1964. Nike
produces, markets and sells athletic footwear, apparel and other accessories. Even though they
have a great reputation with their products, Nike is not seen as a good corporate citizen. Nike does
not have enough campaigns that they do globally, especially in Asia after allegedly being accused
of Violating Labour Laws in 1996. Nike was involved in Child labour. The only active campaign
they have running globally is the Active Schools Campaign.

There are many strategies and tactics that Nike could use to build back their reputation and regain
the consumer base they lost when this issue started. With the large social media platforms Nike has,
They are able to show the campaigns that they do and the causes that they believe in.

Toms being a smaller company compared to Nike, do so much more for the community they have
many corporate social responsibility programs. Nike still
Religion And The Modern World Essay
Religions and civilization have always gone hand in hand, forming and evolving as time goes on.
With so many various religions represented throughout history and in our diverse cultures, there are
various subjects, ideas, and themes depicted and repeated. With so many concepts available to us in
so many forms, we are able to easily compare and discuss their presence and how they integrate into
concepts of the modern world.
Two forms of religion are animism versus anthropocentrism. Animistic religions are the oldest kind
of religion (though only ten percent of the world currently practice) and maintains the belief that
everything around us has a soul animals, plants, the elements. Animistic religions view everything as
sacred, so the Earth and those who inhabit deserve to be treated with respect. Anthropocentric
religions, however, hold a drastically different opinion. While animistic religions view all as sacred,
anthropocentric religions, such as Christianity, believe that only humans have a soul, placing them
on a pedestal and regarding them as something superior to all other lifeforms. Due to the beliefs of
anthropocentric religions, it can be argued that they benefit the capitalist economy. The capitalist
economy likes to turn anything and everything possible into a profit, and by placing humans on a
pedestal and viewing everything else as a lesser being, anthropocentric religions allow the
exploitation of natural resources without the accompanying guilt of
The Mcdonaldization of Society Essay
Introduction to Sociology

The McDonaldization of Society

George Ritzer, in his book The McDonaldization of Society, has given a good understanding of the
kind of world we live in. He describes the concept of McDonaldization, which is the process in
which the principles that form the basis of McDonalds are greatly influencing the rest of society.
McDonalds runs its business on the following key elements: efficiency, calculability, predictability
and control by non human technologies. A fifth element, which Ritzer perceives as a disadvantage of
McDonaldization, is the irrationality of rationality. This is the idea that a society which is based
entirely on rationality is not a normal human society because humans are not ... Show more content

I agree with the general stance of the author, and that is that I am extremely suspicious of
McDonaldization and whether it is really a harm to society rather than a blessing. I disagree with
three of the five key elements of McDonaldization, those being predictability, calculability, and
control by non human technologies. Firstly, by making the daily interactions of life more and
more predictable, life loses some of its meaning. People are meant to confront all different types
of situations and interactions to get a feel for the possibilities of life. For example, in the case of
home cooked meals, if people were not to occasionally receive a meal which was bad tasting, how
would they be able to appreciate a really delicious meal. The whole idea of predictability goes
against our human ness , because we were all created to perform differently. Secondly, calculability
leads to a belief that quantity is more important than quality. According to Ritzer, In terms of
processes, the emphasis is on speed(usually high), whereas for end results the focus is on the
number of products served(usually large). (pg. 59) In my opinion, the reason the majority of
Americans are overweight is because of this bigger is better theory. The quality of other things is
also affected in this way, such as of education, healthcare, and general productivity in a business.

Sprint And T-Mobile Merger Analysis
Many companies in the United States are struggling to survive. These companies are experiencing
significant decreases in revenue, reduced assets, and increases in liabilities. Companies that already
filed, or are at risk for filing bankruptcy are struggling with keeping up with their competitors,
causing the companies to lose their value. When a company files for bankruptcy, the company no
longer gets to make the business decisions. The bankruptcy courts begin to make the decisions for
the companies in efforts to restore the businesses. If the company is unable to revive itself from
bankruptcy status, the company goes out of business. If this occurs, the company must sell
everything it owns in order to compensate its shareholders and repay... Show more content on

This means that the next 3 5 years for the company, currently known as Sprint, looks promising. The
merger may not create perfect business conditions for the company, but financial improvements will
appear evident and Sprint s legacy is likely to survive. However, if the merger does not go through,
Sprint Corporation is still at risk for closing its doors within the next couple of years. If Sprint does
not merge with T Mobile, and the executive leaders fail to develop effective strategies to revive its
current financial situation, I am predicting that Sprint Corporation will no longer exist in the near

Innovation according to Steve Jobs distinguishes a leader and a follower because in innovation
you create something new, it is different from an invention. Innovation is an insight or an idea that
is original and useful and in demand, it is something that nobody had done before and it meets the
needs of the present. Innovation is usually a technology or it may be a process or a system that
provides a solution to a problem. The importance of eco entrepreneurs and innovative initiatives in
the local communities of America could be the best prevention if it may not be a complete cure.
Eco entrepreneurs are those people who can identify opportunities in the midst of an economic
downturn. They are creating a sustainable business and they conduct their business with love and
respect to our Earth and its people. Eco entrepreneurs have a long term goal and they want a
sustainable business. An example of eco entrepreneurs in the United States today, according to
Majora Carter (2010) in her talk on Ted there are three existing eco entrepreneurs in the Unites States
of America today, for example our first eco entrepreneur to create a new innovation that could start
the change in smaller communities is based in Chicago, Brenda Palms Barber, CEO of Sweet

friendly products her company s real ministry is to train and employ ex convicts who wants an

Integrity In Research Paper
If integrity is never challenged, it cannot be measured. How many times have we heard people
say, I would never do what she did or I cannot believe he would do such a thing? Life can appear to
be a series of one epic fail or test after another. We have watched the rich and famous fall from their
lofty pedestals while those with integrity are rarely highlighted on the evening news. Integrity is
doing the right thing, even when nobody s watching. If integrity is the glue that holds our
perception of a good person together, how do we choose to be a person of integrity? Do we have the
innate ability to develop an integrous personality or are we forced to defy nature and overcome
nurture? To seek a Godly example of a life denoted by... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We are hard pressed to find any fault in the life found in the pages of the book of Daniel. His example
of integrity is second to none in the Old Covenant. We do not have the first recordation of a
stumble or fall as with most of our biblical heroes. As we observe the integrity found in the life of
Daniel, we catch him in Chapter 6 headed to the lion s den. The famous Bible story of Daniel and
the lions den is more than a simple account of God s deliverance. It also shows that no one is a
match for the true God. Daniel had been in captivity approximately 66 years serving faithfully and
with distinction in the reign of the Babylonian kings Nebuchadnezzar and Belshazzar. When the
Medo Persian Empire conquered Babylon, Daniel begins serving King Darius. With Daniel s
background and wisdom, he is quickly promoted by the new king to an elevated position of envy.
Daniel was given the gift of prophecy even though he would not claim the title of prophet. In
addition to being blessed with the ability to interpret dreams, he could also see what God had in
store for the Jewish nation. As the Lord revealed to Daniel his plan for his chosen people, he no
doubt saw glimpses of the holocaust and the multiple attempts to destroy Israel. There is always a
remnant after each catastrophe proving the Abrahamic Covenant withstands the test of time. God is
faithful. In spite of the countless years of slavery, the Israelites have endured hardships and continue

A History Of The World In 6 Glasses Analysis
From the first living creatures to modern day homo sapiens, we all have at least one thing in
common: the way that drinks affect survival, culture, and day to day life. Water is not the only
drink that humans have become, in a sense, reliant on over time, as shown in Tom Standage s novel
A History of the World in 6 Glasses . Standage states, other than water, that beer, wine, spirits, coffee
, tea, and Coca Cola greatly shape the events of our world s history. Beer has been around since the
time of the hunter gatherers in Egypt and Mesopotamia, otherwise known as the Fertile Crescent.
Around 10,000 BCE, these hunter gatherers used crushed up wheat and barley to add to food, such
as soup, and stored it for long periods of time. The first settlements
How Does Polypeptide Occur In Protein Synthesis
Our genetic material is DNA. A polypeptide is a chain of amino acids otherwise known as a
protein. DNA is used to make polypeptides in a process called protein synthesis. THe assemblance
of polypeptides occurs in protein synthesis. Protein synthesis is the process where genetic info is
taken from the nucleus and into the ribosome. Proteinsynthesis uses two RNAmolecules and two
types of processes called transcription and translation. The two RNA molecules are messenger RNA
(mRNA) and transfer RNA (tRNA). mRNA contains genetic info that travels from the DNAto the
ribosome. It uses an amino acid chain sequence of proteins. tRNA (transfer RNA) uses its specific
amino acid, takes it, and matches it with its predestined codon. The process
Rhetorical Analysis Of MLK Speech
Robert F. Kennedy delivered a speech to communicate that even though Martin Luther had sadly
passed away, we as american citizens should continue to bring MLK s dream to life and should
pass on his lessons. In his speech, RFK, uses sympathy and honesty to deliver the message
without the crowd rioting and getting worked up. Robert Kennedy also seems to stress quite a bit
that this country can be a great place with out the violence. In the beginning of RFK s speech, his
main point was that MLK was assassinated. Originally, his speech was about his campaign but he
had immediately asked the crowd, Could you lower those signs, please so he could continue on
with what he claims was very sad news for all of our fellow citizens. Robert Kennedy asked the
crowd to lower the signs as a sign of respect, not for Martin Luther, but for the crowd because
MLK was many people s only source of hope and the speech was no longer about him, but about
Martin Luther s death. JKF rips off the band aid by saying, Martin Luther King was shot and
killed tonight in Memphis, Tennessee. The reason for this and not saying that Martin luther had
just passed away was so that the crowd did not need to find out later on that he was actually
murdered. It was to protect himself and to protect the people s emotions from becoming
completely overwhelmed with anger and grief and a urge for revenge. The next section of Robert
Kennedy s speech was now him using sympathy to keep the crowd calm and try to comfort them
through such a horrible time. RFK continues his speech mentioning how Martin Luther had
dedicated his life to love and justice between fellow human beings. RFK makes it very clear that
Martin Luther did not have bad intentions but was sadly punished because someone else s hatred
towards his ideas and opinions. He also gives the crowd a time to think by saying, it s perhaps
well to ask what kind of nation we are and what direction we want to move in. His message is that
there is no reason to cause more chaos than there already is and to honestly think about how we as
americans, can make the situation brighter and better and take something so negative and turn it into
a positive. He also claims, or rather gives permission to the
Persuasive Essay On Minimum Wage
My hands were sweating, and my legs was shaking while I was paying my college bill, realizing
that I have nothing left over from my savings. To begin with, a Minimum wage is stressing
people out and leading them to huge failure in life. Students and families are being destroyed
because of low income wages, students have been quitting their education because of not earning
enough money and parents also are losing passions toward their future and kids because of not
affording their family s needing. Moreover, studies and research show that there is more than 60
million people in the United States have been suffering from minimum wages. As a person who
have experienced how someone could suffer from not having enough money to continue in life.
Being not able to pay a one semester college bill makes a student feel the worst feelings in life
ever, and it s so hard at a young age dealing with difficult situations, caused by not having enough
money. Seeing a father who s losing his passions and getting smaller and smaller in his kid s eyes
is also an upsetting moment. Then these moments started to become a part of our daily life routine
and all the family members were not worrying ore thinking of anyone in the family. Families starts
to argue and hate each other s because of minimum wages, Minimum wages are destroying families.
As a person who is facing a huge problem by being minimum waged I want to do something and
