Self Impliance In Emerson s Concept Of Self-Reliance
Emerson explored the concept of self reliance in trying to come up with a universally accepted
module of evaluating self needs and how to come up with ways to provide for these needs.
Emerson express the soul plays a very significant role in trying to define the basis under which one
should avoid from being dependent on other parties for both intellectual and spiritual needs to
coming up with a line of thinking that makes them less reliant on external bodies and hence self
reliant. According to Emerson, the sentiments that the soul provides are of more value compared to
the mere thoughts that it may contain. As Emerson said Whoso would be a man must be a
nonconformist. He who would gather immortal palms must not be hindered by the name of
goodness, but must explore if it be goodness. Nothing is at last sacred but the integrity of your own
mind. Absolve you to yourself, and you shall have the suffrage of the world (7). Emerson considers
it genius for a man to believe truly in his heart that whatever he or she believes to be the truth or fact
is the same opinion that is held by another humanbeing of group of individuals whose thinking
spaces are not interrelated in any way. The same spontaneous impression that drives our intuition
while driving art work should be the same that would drive us to examine the matter at hand in all
the day to day dealings of our lives.
However, Emerson insists that it is difficult for most people to be self reliant in their day today
operation.

humans to believe they are in a stable world except they are not, is another allure transpired by
governmental forces to control society.

Smart phones allow us to not only talk and text on the phone, but also various other duties that a
computer would such as check emails, send documents, browse the Internet, and find locations.
With the allure of smart phones comes the catch of now transmitting personal and confidential
information into our phones, allowing unwanted users or hackers to view our data without our
consent. In addition, there was a time when the typewriter was the only machine used for data
entry, but in present day, we have laptops, desktop computers, and also netbooks. With these fancy
gadgets, Web 2.0 had also been created. In our text, we read that Web 1.0 was the ability to
perform read only but with the creation of Web 2.0, we are able to read and write (Bowles, 2010).
This notion is shown on our social networks as we post statuses of how we feel or where we are
going, or what we are doing. Little do we know, that with every pro comes a con. By inputting our
information on such sites as Facebook, Twitter, or Blogger, we subject ourselves to a lifetime of
invasion of privacy. No matter how many letters or words we type, edit or delete on these sites,
they are stamped in the World Wide Web indefinitely. Lastly, with the allure of virtual reality and
being able to plug in and experience what it s like to be someone else (Kurzweil, 2005), we set
ourselves up for yet another
The Importance Of Caritas As A Catholic Social Organisation
Part A:
In New Zealand has a lot of Catholic social organisation. In this assessment I choose Caritas as a
Catholic social organisation.

Caritas Internationalis is a catholic organisation and social service. Their mission is to work to
build a better world, especially for the poor and oppressed. Caritas has social service
organisations in over 200 countries. And I will identify Caritas in Thailand because Thailand is
my homeland and Thailand has a lot of poor people. Many people in Thailand need the helping
from organisation and I think Caritas Thailand is a great organisation to service people. Caritas
Thailand is not only help or service people, they teach about the Catholic teaching to the people too.
Also people will get the Catholic social teaching from Caritas Thailand and this Catholic social
teaching is important for live.

Caritas Thailand is set up in March 1968, Catholic Bishops Conference of Thailand (CBCT) had
established commission for relief and development. At home or abroad, Caritas Thailand is able to
deploy immediate and effective humanitarian relief to people in needs. It has recently work in close
partnership with the global Caritas network to provide humanitarian aid to thousands of Syrian
refugee, providing foods and medical cares.

Caritas Thailand s manager include providing cares and supports to the elderly and the disabled,
developing sustainable agriculture projects and exploring methods to prevent child trafficking and
exploitation.

Business Intelligence and Technology
Introduction
In modern business, vast amounts of data are accumulated, which makes the decision making
process complicated. It is a major mutual concern for all business and IT sector companies to change
the existing situation of mass data, poor knowledge and support better business decision making and
help enterprises increase profits and market share. Business intelligence technologies have emerged
at such challenging times. Business today has compelled the enterprises to run different but
coexisting information systems.

ETL plays an important role in BI project today. ETL stands for extraction, transformation and
loading.
ETL is a process that involves the following tasks: Extracting data from source operational or
archive systems which are the primary source of data for the data warehouse; transforming the data
which may involve cleaning, filtering, validating and applying business rules; loading the data into a
data warehouse or any other database or application that houses data.

ETL Tools provide facility to extract data from different non coherent systems, transform (cleanse
merge it) and load into target systems. The main goal of maintaining an ETL process in an
organization is to migrate and transform data from the source OLTP systems to feed a data
warehouse and form data marts. ETL process is the basis of BI and it is a prime decisive factor for
success or failure of BI.

Today, the organization has a wide variety of ETL tools to choose from market.
Differences Of New England And Southern Colonies
As more and more Europeans moved to the New World, colonies were created for specific groups
of people. Colonies were created for varying religions, lifestyles, and economic reasons. The New
England colonies had numerous difference and few similarities with the Southern Colonies. These
differences created distinct features of the regions and the people who lived there. Due to the
geographic location of the Southern Colonies, their economic development relied mainly on
agriculture. Being closer to the equator than New England, the south received longer planting
seasons and also had good soil for planting. The Southern Colonies mainly produced corn, rice, and
tobacco, which were very valuable exports. Unlike the Southern Colonies, in New Englandthe soil
was worse and often times the areas were rocky, often making it much harder to plant and even be
profitable. The South was very reliant on African slaves for... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Naturally, they stayed this way, and their lives were centered on their religion. One of the New
England colonies, Rhode Island, even granted complete religious tolerance, a first of its kind. The
Southern Colonies were settled for an economic gain of the settlers. For example, when the colonists
first arrived in Jamestown, a number of them immediately started to look for gold. In the Southern
Colonies, there was little religious tolerance and the colonies were mainly Anglican and Baptist.
Religion wasn t central to life in the Southern Colonies but still influenced its followers. The
presence of religious toleration in the New England Colonies helped steer people of minor faiths to
immigrate to the New England colonies from the Old World and within the New World. The New
England colonists were usually more dedicated to religion, where the Southern Colonists seemed to
care more about economic growth and opportunity than practicing
Teen Activism
NTRODUCTION We live in a world that is in need of change. Many of us have strong opinions
about things, including teens. These teens speak out about what they believe in, in order to make
the world a better place. These people are called teen activist. In this essay, you will learn about
what teen activism, the examples of Malala Yousafzai, Abby Reiman, and Zea Tongeman, and
you will also learn what I would do if I were a teen activist. So keep reading and enjoy! What is
teen activism? Now you re probably wondering, what is teen activism anyway? Well, teen
activism is when young people express themselves in order to make a change for the better. For
example, think of Malala Yousafzai. Since I will be writing about her next, I won t go into full on
detail mode. Anywho, she started a fund called the Malala Fund to help kids, but especially girls
to be able to have an education. Now that you know what teen activism is, let s look at some teen
activist. Malala Yousafzai Malala Yousafzai is a pakistani schoolgirl. When she was little, she
didn t get to go to school, because in her country, girls weren t allowed to go to school. But, she
went anyway. Soon enough, she was targeted by the Taliban. When she was 12 years old, she was
on her way home from school, when she was shot in the head. Luckily for her, the bullet didn t
touch her brain. After 5 hours of surgery, she was almost better. I say almost because she was
paralyzed in the left side of her face. After this whole
How Black Nationalism Helped Civil Rights
In the United States, racial tolerance in society has been a product of various struggles by civil rights
groups and individuals over several decades. As racial tolerance should be a basic foundation of any
society, it unfortunately had to be attained through various routes in the American society; some
peaceful, while most not so much. For African Americans, tolerance through civil rights was
achieved through two overlapping movements. The first type of movement was the desegregation
movement, aimed at ending the separation of blacks and whites and trying to make them into one
American community, such as the movement headed by Martin Luther King Jr. The other type of
movement was the black nationalist movement whose aim was to empower... Show more content on

These black nationalists did not want to mix with the white population, and many wanted to
eventually create a separate nation for African Americans. The black nationalists wanted to create a
sense of black pride and unity (Brooks. Black Nationalism. ).

Black Nationalism started in the late 1700s, starting with the American Colonization Society, or the
ACS (McNeil and Mintz. Black Nationalism and Black Power ). The ACS wanted free blacks to
move to Liberia, on the western coastline of Africa. African Americans didn t start believing in this
idea until a wealthy African American man named Paul Cuffee started to support the cause (Davis
and Brown. The Antipathy of Black Nationalism. ). Another one of the early black nationalist
leaders was Martin Delany, an abolitionist from the 1800s, who wanted blacks from the north to
move back to Africa where they can settle back down and along with the natives and help build
nation states. The African leaders needed help building countries in the devastating chaos the
Europeans brought (Brooks. Black Nationalism. ). Marcus Garvey

In the 20th century, a major driving force of the black nationalist movement was the creation of
black oriented religions that fueled enmity and hatred against whites, the foremost of which was the
Nation of Islam, or the NOI. The NOI was formed in the 1930s by a Detroit peddler named W.D
Fard. Fard influenced a young,

Reserve Grade, Local Australian Rules Football Match in the Eastern Football League
Blackburn Football Club v Balwyn Football Club
5/4/2014

Introduction
Australians are renowned for their passion for sport, in particular, the four main football codes
(Australian Rules football, Rugby League, Rugby Union and Soccer). In terms of the participation
rate among these four codes, Australian Rules Football ranks second behind outdoor soccer, with
419 000 individuals or 2.6 % of the population participating in the sport. (Australian Bureau of
Statistics 2009)
The majority of the individuals who participate in Australian rules football, participate at the local
level, as Australia adopts a community club based system for all sports. This ensures that everyone
that has a desire to partake is very much able to at a local level which includes clubs like the
Blackburn and Balwyn Football Clubs. (Shilbury, Deane, Kellett 2006, p. 19)
Thus, the purpose of this report is to analyse different aspects and contributions to a local game of
Australian Rule Football, to determine areas of praise and improvement.

J.W. Loy Jr describes sport as an activity of play like in nature, involves an element of competition,
is based on physical prowess, involves elements of skill, strategy and chance and has an uncertainty
of outcome. (Loy 1968, pp.2 8) All such elements are satisfied by the sport of Australian rules
Pushing The Herd Off The Cliff Edge
Introduction

The idea of institutional herding has a striking implication for security price volatility. Estimations
from the essay Sending the Herd Off the Cliff Edge suggests that the predominance of herding
behavior may explain why the financial system in 1990s had been in crisis for 40 out of the 120
months or 33% of the time (Persaud, 2000). These concerns, along with the increasing stock market
ownership of institution investor in comparison to individual investors, is often used as a basis for
advocating for an increase in monitoring institutional trading in equity markets in hopes that it that
would lead to a reduction in the dominance of institutional investors in the financial market.
However such claims are not fully supported by empirical research in the literature. Two schools of
thoughts emerge the first being that herding enhances pricing efficiency, and second ascertains that
herding initiates short term trend reversals.

The emergence of two seemingly polar opposite beliefs is not as a result of lack of scholarly
competence but rather due to the nature of complexity within the subject leading to conflicts in
assumptions and methodology. Conflicts in assumptions and methodology often arise due to rational
definitional irregularities on institutional herding. An example of such a definitional irregularity
occurs when as Avery defined herd behavior as a trade by an informed agent which follows the trend
in past trades even though that trend is counter to his
Not Our Stars, But The Most Well Known Epic Poems Of The...
Not in Our Stars, But in Ourselves

Whose fault? / Whose but his own? is a question that has been raised many times in human history
(Milton 3.96). Many authors and poets have tackled the question of why humanity is constantly
tested and tempted to sin, and, further, whether humanity has the free will to decide its own fate.
After the Reformation of the Catholic church that created Protestantism, the idea of predestination
was very popular. Protestant ideology claimed that only a few people were destined to be saved
or damned by God, and that only some people will be saved. This created a general anxiety about
faith and free will in Renaissance England, leading many to question who was at fault when human
beings sin. Two of the most well known epic poems of the Renaissance era are The Faerie Queene
by Edmund Spenser and Paradise Lost by John Milton. Both poems feature characters that face
trials and tribulations, and how the respective poems deal with the trails reveals different ideas
about fate, free will, and the idea of being tested. Both poems use temptation relation to female
bodies and sexual desire, diverse reactions to falling and failure, and prophecy that contribute to
two different ideas about free will and the role of God in the lives of his creations.
Female seduction and sexual temptation are featured both in The Faerie Queene and Paradise Lost,
but are represented in different ways. In Paradise Lost, Eve leads to the eventual downfall of Adam
because she
Atheism, Secularity, And Well-Being By Phil Zuckerman
A Whole New World A favorite song of ours waking us up on the morning, a well written book
helping us escape reality and enter a completely different universe, and a simple movie scene can
show us a whole new world from a different perspective right in front of our eyes. Over the past
100 years, language has become the most powerful thing that influences people, whether it would be
making us do things that are unintended, things that can completely change our mood, or can even
make us become more knowledgeable then we could imagine. These three things can help motivate,
change and figure out what kind of person we want to be. It has happened to almost all of us, one

And not just wars, but even small time crimes, for example, from 1990 2007; over 20,000 people
have been killed in the name of religion in Nigeria (Crabtree). In a paper written by Phil
Zuckerman, titled Atheism, Secularity, and Well Being , Phil talks about the effects on society
religion takes, and he concludes that atheism and secularity affects society much more positively
than religion. Now of course, religion has not only done just bad things, there are hundreds of
fantastic charities that are set up world wide that help millions of people everyday. In a chart that
shows the top fifty charities around the world, a catholic charity was listed third, and that charity
has spent over 79% of its profit to help set up programs for their work (CSMonitor). Lastly, there
are movies; can they have just as much as in impact when influencing people as books and
music? Absolutely, movies have been around for a long time and still today people talk about the
first movies ever made and how it has affected their lives. Romantic movies for one example, have
given people hope and tips on how to better their love life. Romantic movies also can help people
persuade their loved ones

The Man Called Peter Brook
On March 21st, 1925, in London, England, a man named Peter Brook was born. He was the,
younger son of two Russian scientists who came to Britain in 1914 as refugees, and set up a
successful pharmaceuticals company, whose bestselling product was a laxative called Brooklax .
Peter s older brother became a psychiatrist , (Peter Brook).Ever since Brook was a little kid, he had
a huge interest in film making. He went to school at Magdalen College of Oxford to read English
and Modern Languages. Brook s first job after graduation was as a writer/director with the Crown
Film Unit. Although theatredirecting was his second career choice, he was soon employed and early
classical productions at the Birmingham Repertory Theatre were followed by Shakespeare in
London and Stratford, (Peter Brook).
Mr. Brook is known for directing theatrical productions, but he didn t start off doing live
entertainment. His first completed project was a movie that he did as an undergraduate student at
Magdalen College Oxford. He made his first film on a budget of £250, using redundant sets and
some fledgling actors from among his friends and classmates an early indication of his confidence
and his ability to attract casts and funding,(Peter Brook). According to the New York Times, Brook
directed an amateur adaptation of Laurence Sterne s eighteenth century novel A Sentimental Journey
(1943). From that moment on, little did he know that his career in the theatre world would take off.
