The Evolution of the Concerto from Classical to Romantic...
The concerto form was developed significantly from the Classical to the romantic era; producing
changes within its instrumentation, form thematic material and rhythmic devices. The societal
attitudes towards the composition and consumption of the concerto form also changed during this
time.

A concerto is an arrangement with solo works performed within the piece, alternating between a
larger ensemble and the soloist. The root of its definition was believed to mean to skirmish with one
another (Boyden, 1957), this definition helps explain the idea of a concerto, it displays a notion that
the soloist is skirmishing with the remainder of the ensemble. The defining characteristic of a
concerto is its arrangement. It has a contrast in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This marked the first actual publication of the concerto grosso genre (Jander, 1968). Corelli s
Opus 6 was comprised of entirely strings. The solo section known as the concertino that must be
made of two violins and a cello. This soloist group then alternated with a larger group called the
ripeno, which usually consisted of two violins, a bass and a viola, of which the numbers can be
increased; there was also sometimes a continuo. This was the standard instrumental setup for the
concerto grosso and other composers such as Handel used this.

Bach was a prolific composer during the later parts of the baroque period, he was also a prolific
concerto composer also, He himself composing many pieces in concerto form. Most of these
works were composed around 1720. Bach was the Kapellmeister for Prince Leopold of Anhalt
Cothen during this period; this was also the period in which his wife died suddenly, perhaps
striking inspiration. Many of Bach s concertos used additional and varied instrumentation to those
of Corelli and the concerto grosso form. They often had woodwind and brass instruments such as
the oboe, recorder, trumpet and piccolo. There was no standard instrumentation for Bach s
concertos, the instruments he used varied from piece to piece. To contrast this, Bach s concerto No.

It s pretty funny that just a few days ago, Maher delivered a rant in which he declared that Truth is

be laughed at; now he s linked at. Lies are the new truth.

1967 Cultural Revolution of China
Question:
Why did Mao launch the Cultural Revolution? For instance, do you think the occurrence of the CR
had any connections with the CCP s organizing principle and guiding ideologies, such as democratic
dictatorship and the democratic centralism, or was caused more by other reasons? Also, although
many things people did during the Cultural Revolution look so absurd, irrational, and even cruel
today, millions of Chinese, especially the Chinese youth seemed to be obsessed with the movement
during that time. What do you think motivated the public to respond to Mao s last revolution so
actively? Please give your explanations. Moreover, please also discuss: How some Cultural
Revolution mentality or phenomena remain working nowadays and ... Show more content on

For Mao, It was impossible to tolerate the fact that political elites of CCP were no longer cohesive
and shared the same ideology. In order to achieve pure communism in the state, there was a need to
remove other ideology which might probably undermine the governance of CCP. Therefore, Cultural
Revolution was triggered off to eliminate people and elites who caused class struggle and violate the
dominant dictatorship of CCP.
4. Explanation for active public response.
4.1 Cultural Revolution gained public supports though some scholars described it as Ten year
disaster . It did really badly affected people s livelihood at that time. Indeed, it has aroused many
scholars interest to study the general public s enthusiasm for this massive movement. In order to
transform China into a pure communist state, massive propaganda work has implemented to
promote Chinese political philosophy. During the First Five Year Plan , the Campaign on Education
of Illiteracy was launched to infused people with communist ideology. People who are the lower
class of society like peasants, students and workers were the most targeted group because they
occupied a larger proportion of population at that time. Mao manipulated people s mindset by
instilled people with communist value and ideals. (Guo,2013) People were easily controlled and
influenced at that time for having not much education and more importantly communism was
promoted as
The Massacre Of Israeli Delegates At The Summer Munich...
The events of the past have a way of transforming themselves over time. Something that occurred
mere minutes ago can evolve over the next few hours, and an event that seemed so straight
forward many years past finds itself a new meaning within the greater context of the period. The
same concept applies to a specific event a mere 45 years ago, namely the massacre of Israeli
delegates at the summer Munich Olympics of 1972.
This event is now portrayed in standard textbooks as being part of a larger event of the time
period, one of the lingering effects of the Jordanian Civil War of 1971, an event that has been
dubbed Black September in the history books. As a result of the efforts of the Jordanians placed
against various Palestinian groups during the war, the Fatah, a militant Palestinian group and PFLP,
another radical group, jointly created a terror group named after the conflict. The Black September
Organization attempted to force revenge on both the Jordanian authority and the Israelis, who had
occupied their lands in Palestine. The organization became known to assassinate Israelis abroad in an
act of revenge (Smith).
However, at the time of the Olympics, the world s reaction was not as cut and dry as it is today. In
both the political and public worlds, the attitude was one of shock and horror. The Secretary
General of the United Nations said that while the event was, on its own, one that was terrible, it was
made worse by infringing on the idea that the Olympic Games
The J. Paul Getty Museum
For this essay, we were required to go to the Getty Villa in Malibu and look for specific works of
art in the J. Paul Getty Museum. The Getty Villa is on a hill adjacent to Malibu beach and
requires a reservation to get inside. They do not allow pedestrian entrances, so I had to take
public transportation and show proof of my Metro bus receipt to get in. Once inside, I took a
shuttle up a curvy hill to the actual museum. When I got to the actual entrance, I was taken aback
by how beautiful not only the view was, but the Villa was as well. It did not take me long to find
the five artworks. The first work of artwe were required to look at was a grave stele. There were a
collection of them against a wall on the second floor of the Getty Villa. The one that stuck out the
most to me was titled Grave Stele of Herophanta and Posideos which was dated around 150 B.C.
It is a Greek grave stele that was made in Smyrna, which is what we today call Turkey. The stele
was around 4 feet tall and made out of marble. The back of the stele was not viewable, but the
front had a lot of detail. On the front at the top displays what resembles a triangular pediment
typically seen in Greek temples. Underneath that are two wreath like objects. In the center, there is
a portrait that shows a family consisting of a husband and wife with two children. The woman is
holding a wreath and the two kids are crowded around the father. Each member of the family is
wearing stylized drapery. Underneath the
The Importance Of Listening And Deep Listening
It is inevitable to be surrounded by sounds. No matter where you go, there will never be a place
without sound. This is precisely why causal and deep listening are both necessary skills to have. In
my paper I will address the theme of how deep listening makes us better understand the world and
the importance of adhering to both causal listening and deep listening. I intend to show that by
analyzing the differences in causal listening and deep listening and by referencing the works of
Hendy, Chion, and Novak, as well as my own personal experiences.
The actual process of deep listening is a difficult task. However, when done right, it opens up a
world full of sounds. One thing to establish before moving on is that deep listening, also known as
reduced listening, is very different than causal listening. To further define it, reduced listening is the
listening mode that focuses on the traits of the sound itself, independent of its cause and of its
meaning (Chion). In other words, reduced listening is something that we have to forcefully enact. It
is not commonly implemented in our daily lives, and oftentimes, it takes a very trained ear to do so.
Listening solely for the purpose of analyzing sound, and sound alone is no easy task. For example, it
was very hard to differentiate sounds during my assignment. I over generalized most things, and
needed a visual representation to comprehend most sounds.
On the other hand, causal listening consists of listening to a sound in order

To Make Lemon Water
Making lemon water is super simple. It takes less than 5 minutes of your precious morning time.
Just squeeze half a lemon in lukewarm water. If you weigh more than 150 pounds, use a whole
lemon.
Why use lukewarm (or room temperature) instead of cold or hot water to make this healing
morning drink? Well, hot or cold water takes more energy to process, so your first glass in the
morning should be lukewarm or at room temperature to slowly wake your body and kick start
digestion.
If you love the taste feel free to add more lemon water to your diet during the rest of the day, cold or
hot. It adds up to your daily water need, is less boring than plain water, and adds tons of benefits for

Drains In Bamber Bridge
Do you require assistance with blocked drains in Bamber Bridge? Apart from the terrible smell, a
blocked drain can result in the unwanted overflowing of wastewater, causing leaking roofs, walls
or ceilings, damage to wiring and electrical fittings. There are a number of aspects that can cause
a blocked drain. If the drain in question is outside, falling leaves and garden debris could be cause.
Tree roots are also known to cause this problem by growing into the drain and causing a blockage.
Drains inside the home are most commonly caused by hair build up, as well as grease. Grease will
dry and result in sticking to the sides of the pipes. This will also build up over time, eventually
stopping any liquid from passing through. In Bamber
How I Personally View Success
Ever since we are born we are told by our parents, relatives and friends that in order to be successful
you need an education. Our parents are constantly doing everything that is in their hands to ensure
our future. Coming from parents that were not given the opportunity to get a proper education, they
have enforced and prioritized education in myself as well as my siblings in order to have a better
future. Most, if not all of our parents want us, their child, to be better than them, to achieve better
things in life. There is one thingthat we all have in common, that is our desire to be successful. Now
the ideawith the word success is that it can be interpreted in many different ways, depending on
who you ask. I personally view success as being financially stable as well as spiritually. When
thinking of a person who I viewed as successful, I thoughtof my friend Airam. I have known Airam
for about five years now, if not more. Airam has been a nurse for a little bit more than two years
now. I recently asked her how did she view success. Airam described being successful as being
academically, economically and self accomplished.
In order to get a better understanding on the reasons of why Airam views success that way, I
asked some follow up questions. These questions helped me get a better perspective of how
success is interpreted and how it is similar as well as different to my own view of success. Always
wanting to help others in their time of need and her having an
Holden Caulfield Censorship
In 1951, the public was introduced to sixteen year old Holden Caulfield, a character created and
narrated by J.D. Salinger, in his first novel, The Catcher in the Rye. Throughout the book s
lifetime, it has been a subject of constant debates and controversies. The novel has only been the
target of ridicule and criticisms, but has also sparked intriguing discussion on its validity for use of
high schools (Top 10 Censored Books). The Catcher in the Rye is banned due to meeting the
requirements for censorship. Censorship is the practice of officially examining books, movies, etc.,
and suppressing unacceptable parts (Merriam Webster). The novel centers around the life of the

addition, he is so much into teenage sex as revealed in his words sex is something I really don t

his personality for their own. Consequently his intolerable personality is unacceptable in the society,
and the book teaches that it is an undesirable
My Experience With Pancreatitis
Today was my first day at metro hospital. I had an interesting situation with a patient. The patient
was admitted with a hemorrhagic pseudo cyst and a history of chronic pancreatic with complaints
of abdominal pain. After doing a CT scan, they found splenic hematoma. They did a CT scan and
found a large gastric mass, with evidence of pancreatitis. That might have been what was causing
the pain. This did bring bad memories of the last patient I had. Pancreatitis is not a joke. I went in to
meet the patient to find that he was grumpy. I noticed while talking to him that he just wanted to
leave the hospital. I even found out that he has been a chronic smoker for majority of his life.
Nevertheless, since his admission, he has not smoked since.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net
