Why Demographic Trends Spell Trouble For China And Russia
Introduction All around us there are forecasts predicting the future. Whether it s an article in
Forbes entitled Why Demographic Trends Spell Trouble For China And Russia And Prosperity
For US predicting a prosperous economy for the United State and Canada in 2035 (Preston, 2015) or
the CEO of Facebook Mark Zuckerberg at the F8 2016 Conference unveiling his roadmap on what
Facebook would look like in 10 years (Buxton, 2016). Both are examples of predictionthat use
different forecast techniques to predict a future outcome. The article from Forbes, predicts a possible
future due to demographic trends, whereas, Mark Zuckerberg forecasts a preferably or probable
future due to advancements in technology. However, there are number of different forecasting
techniques that are used today in business, government, and military to predict future outcomes. This
paper looks at the different techniques for forecasting the future and how some futurists use these
different techniques for predicting future trends, technologies, and events.
Forecasting Methods First it must be noted, that no forecasting technique can be certain, however,
they can come close to a possible, preferable, or probable future. Second, the further into the future
the predictions the higher the uncertainty of the forecast (Gordon, 2009). The reason for greater
uncertainty is the possible of a wild card or black swam event happening that would be a total
surprise and have a major effect on the long term
Bodybuilder Research Paper
Fitness has grown to a multibillion dollar industry. The idea of fitness has influenced millions of
lives whether the correlation was as a career, lifestyle, or an occasional hobby. People globally
compete in bodybuilding, physique, and powerlifting meets earning thousands of dollars depending
on their successes. Though they seem pointless at first, even the sixty second long infomercials on
television advertising the new and approved anywhere gym equipment or perfect diet has made the
viewer at least contemplate their health. People often confuse fitness as a sole concept of either
exercising or dieting, but fitness depends immensely on both. Some people in the fitness industry

The overall process can change from bodybuilder to bodybuilder, but they usually have a bulking
season and a cutting season. Bulking seasons are indicated by a surplus of calories in order to build
as much muscle as possible. While building muscle seems simple enough, they are actually very
precise about their lifts and nutrition as they need to keep symmetry amongst their muscles. The
purpose of cutting is to have their body at a point of definition where striations can be seen in all
of their muscles. The ability to see separation of muscles comes from having a low enough body
fat percentage. While cutting, bodybuilders must ensure they are eating enough calories to
preserve muscle mass while burning the necessary amount of body fat. This is when having a
strict workout regime with a mix of cardio and weight lifting comes into place. Though all ranges
of reps have been proven to stimulate muscle growth the traditional range is between eight and
twelve reps per lift. A traditional workout will consist of multi joint compound moves as its
primary focus with single joint accessory work afterwards. Compound moves include the bench
press, dead lift, and squat while accessory lifts include pectoral flies, back extensions, and leg
extensions. The list of compound and accessory lifts is far more vast, but these simple examples.
There can be extreme variations is styles of lifting which change in accordance to the lifters
experience. Cardio is typically only used during cutting season while trying to reach an appropriate
body fat percentage. The typical times for cardio change per person, but will usually be in the
morning upon waking up, before weight lifting, or directly
Essay Comparing The Yellow Wallpaper And A Doll s House
Throughout the nineteenth century, gender assumptions were made stating that women were the
substantially and intellectually the weaker sex. Due to this mindset, it was believed that women
must always serve under male control. This belief caused most women in the nineteenth century
to bask in an aura of oppression and repression. Feministic views commence from the awareness
of the inequality of treatment that women faced. Many stories such as, The Yellow Wallpaper
written by Charlotte Perkins Gilman , and the The Story of an Hour written by Kate Chopin ,
demonstrated the oppression that women endured and expressed women s regression. However,
only The Yellow Wallpaper and the The Story of an Hour are attributable to the play A Doll s
House through it s use of symbolic symbols. In A Doll s House, Henrik Ibsen symbolic use of the
letter box, tarantela, macaroons, and the Nora s slamming of the door, exhibits a change in the... Show

In The Story of an Hour, it states ...in the face of...possession of self assertion...she..recognized the
strongest impulse of her being...free body and soul (Chopin par 12). Ibsen s macaroons are
analogous to Chopin s statement about Mrs.Mallard. Macaroons are Nora s strongest impulse of
her being because they are her guilty pleasure. Nora s craving for macaroons caused her to eat
them even though Torvald forbidden them; Torvald had forbidden me...{b}ut just for once ( Ibsen
11). This action is comparable to the narrator writing in The Yellow Wallpaper. The narrator
strongest impulse of her being is to write even though she is sick and John told the narrator not to;
absolutely forbidden to work...I...write...in spite of them ( Gilman par 8). The macaroons and
writing serve as a symbol of the strongest impulse of women which is rebellion. It also displays the
woman s first step into
Literary Devices In The Pedestrian By Ray Bradbury
Author s often use literary devices and techniques to further improve imagery, mood, setting and
much more, The Pedestrian by Ray Bradbury is a short story that consists of a sane man in a
community that explains his thoughts as he walks. Some thoughts include on how the main
character is the only one who isn t addicted to electronics in his dystopian society. Using literary
deviceswill improve the witters success on most anything. In The Pedestrian, Bradbury uses literary
devices and techniques of figurative language, setting, and symbolism to further enhance the
negative impacts technology will have on his society.

To Start, Bradbury mostly describes Mr. Mead walking the streets in a darker time of day. The dark
can signal being alone, and feeling indifferent in a certain place. The own, obsessed with
electronics, thought differently of Mr. Mead because he favored nature. For example, when Mr.
Mead walks he changed to sneakers because his other shoes had a hard heal, and lights might
click on and faces appear, when they heard him passing (3). Others thought it was different for a
man to walk the streets in order to receive fresh air. Secondly, Mr. Mead was walking and came
across a police car. With the short story taking place in 2053, it was a driver less car. This one
lone car wandering and wandering the empty streets, happened to be the car to represent
symbolism in the short story(12). Written in 1951, The Pedestrian predicted driver less cars in
the future of 2053. It also hints to the fact that the government had more control than needed.
Thirdly, Mr mead describes walking through his town as Walking through a graveyard where only
the faintest glimmers of firefly light appeared in flickers behind the windows (2). Mr. Mead was
the only alive person living in his society, while the others take an effect of being brain dead from
the cause of technology overrule. With updated technology, the community in which Mr. Mead
lives in will spend less and less time outside, making Mr. Mead seem different from the eyes of the
cities view. In all, by using symbolism with time of day, new technology, and living ways of the
society, Bradbury impacts readers view on
Narrative Of The Life Of Frederick Douglass, An American...
While Slavery was against human nature and while Abolitionists believed in ending the practice
of slavery, the South had their own reasons why slavery was needed in America and how
basically they supported pro slavery. For instance, some arguments for slavery followed this so
called logic: Sudden end to the slave economy would have had a profound and killing economic
impact in the South where reliance on slave labor was the foundation of their economy. If all the
slaves were freed, there would be widespread unemployment and chaos. And by comparison with
the poor of Europe and the workers in the Northern states, that slaves were better cared for
(ushistory.org). But in a section from, Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, an American
Slave, written by him, Douglass describes some of the brutality that he had witnessed. The
overseer s name was Plummer. Mr. Plummer was a miserable drunkard, a profane swearer, and a
savage monster. He always went armed with a cowskin and a heavy cudgel. I have known him to
cut and slash the woman s heads so horribly, that even master would be enraged at his cruelty, and
would threaten to whip him if he did not mind himself. Master, however, was not a humane
slaveholder (Douglass 44). This shows the brutality that even female slaves endured and while the
Maser may have showed some sense against the cruelty that the slaves faced, it wasn t enough to say
that they too were also cruel. Just putting aside the inhumanity depicted in true
Yahweh Exile Essay
The exile was an act of divine judgment towards the nation of Israel due to their consistent
unfaithfulness to the covenantal agreement with Yahweh established at Sinai and their failure to
seek Yahweh as their Lord. Throughout the time of exile, Yahweh remained gracious, and faithful to
his covenant people, proving it to be a time of great restoration and formation for the nation. The
exile can only be seen as a turning point, for the people of Godand the nation of Israel; Karen Jobes
said, It is difficult to exaggerate the significance of the exile and restoration in shaping Judaism. In
this period of time, as recorded in the book of Daniel, and throughout the subsequent years of the
post exilic period, Yahweh showed himself to be... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The community was disillusioned with God, and unsure if he was faithful to his promises. Exile
and the fall of the Davidic Monarchy had caused hopelessness and the nation was living in a state of
despair and apathy. The shortsighted misinterpretation of prophetic words uttered by the prophets
Jeremiah and Ezekiel (Jer. 33:15; Ezek. 34:23 24) left them anticipating a king, in the lineage of
David, reigning in the Promised Land. With that not coming to pass, when and as anticipated, it
shook their core beliefs and national identity.
The Chronicler s aimed to provide a theology of hope to the minority of Israelites who felt called to
return. This hope, discoverable and restorative, through exploring afresh their history, and the
faithfulness of Yahweh in keeping his covenantal promises, namely the Abrahamic Covenant (1
Chron. 16:13 17) and the Davidic Covenant (1 Chron. 17:26 27; 2 Chron. 6:14 16). The Chronicler s
use of genealogies is meant to counteract this identity crisis. The genealogies, fortify both a historical
and theological connection, reestablishing continuity with the true people of God, and their place as

My Sassy Girl As A Hero s Journey
The Hero s Journey is an observation of the hero archetype in literature, as well as a story template
and idea. John Campbell s The Hero with a Thousand Faces details each step a hero may pass
through during his adventure. The book contains detailed descriptions of each of the twenty one
steps. Although, these can be summarized into five basic steps: Call to Adventure, Refusal of the
Call, Crossing the Threshold/Passage into the Realm, The Road of Trials, and Return to the World
of the Common Day. The Heros Journey archetype is represented heavily in popular culture. My

The Girl throws up and passes out on the train due to excess alcohol consumption. This is where
Gyeon woo s journey begins. His call to adventure is the choice to either help or not help The
Girl. He initially dumps her at the subway but he turns around, picks her up, and takes her to a
motel. These are the steps Refusal of the Call and Passage into the Realm respectively. The
majority of the film takes place during The Road of Trials step. This is the step that Gyeon woo
articulates his journeys goal besides finding love. He is continually surprised at The Girl s
beauty, brazenness and lack of respect for him. Even more odd, The Girl forces Gyeon woo on a
sequence of bizarre dates despite her flippant nature. After one of these dates again ends in Gyeon
woo carrying her back to the motel, he vows to, ...heal her sorrow . He overcomes this challenge
by being supplicant to The Girl s every whim. While not immediately apparent at the onset, the
girl is sad and drunk at the beginning of the movie because her boyfriend, who is the cousin of
Gyeon woo, had died one year previously. Gyeon woo s presence, which reminds her of him, allows
her to forget her boyfriend s death. His refusal to quit after suffering abuse at her hands emotionally
overwhelms her and they separate while making
Harry Potter And The Sorcerer s Stone
Can you imagine growing up with almost nothing, then miraculously thinking of an imaginary boy
wizard, who makes you a multimillionaire? This is the story of how Jo Rowling, or more
commonly known as J.K. Rowling, came to write the best selling book series of Harry Potter.
Rowling, an English born woman, has been inspired throughout her life to write Harry Potter. After
her first book, Harry Potter and the Philosopher s Stone, which was later changed to Harry Potter
and the Sorcerer s Stone, became a success, she continued to write the rest of the books in the
series, including a book explaining the background, The Tales of Beedle the Bard. Throughout
her life, J.K. Rowling has been inspired to write the Harry Potter series, which unexpectedly
helped her to become not only a household name, but one of the wealthiest women in England.
J.K. Rowling came from humble beginnings, born in Chipping Sodbury, England on July 31,
1965. As a child, her parents struggled to keep the family on welfare. With Joanne, J.K. Rowling s
real name, and her little sister Di to support, Anne and Peter Rowling, had to make enough money
to allow them to get a private school education. *insert quote here*. Throughout Rowling s life in
England, which was also the place where the Harry Potter series took place, there were many
influences that may have helped with writing the books. One of the most important impacts on the
book series, was how Harry got the scar on his forehead. As a child,
Imagine John Lennon Analysis
John Lennon s Imagine is a very popular song from the music mogul. The song examines Social
issues and injustices throughout. The literary elements and underlying messages in the song are
phenomenal, Lennon examines issues in the cultural, economic, social and political context.
Keeping these four topics in mind, it is necessary to understand the political, social, cultural and
economic environment in which Lennon lived in during the making of this song.
Imagine was released in 1970. The 60 s was an important decade for us humans, but specifically the
United States. We had many positive accomplishments such as the Moon landing, and the end of
segregation through the Civil Rights Movement. We also had negativity throughout the decade, for
example, the Assassination of John F. Kennedy, The Vietnam War, and the Nuclear Weapon Threat.
The 1960 s was also the time when the peace movement was at its peak. Anti war demonstrations
were a common sight on every street corner. Anti communist ideologies were at an unprecedented
high following the war (Vietnam War). The uncountable lives lost by both sides made plenty realize
the futility of war and provoked them to spread the message of love, unity, and peace.

Due to pervasive demonstrations all over the world, there were social disturbances. As always, any
period of social uneasiness has a negative effect on the economy. Due to the huge war expenses and
lack of manpower to run the economy, the late 60 s and early 70 s experienced

Israeli war of independence Started as 6 months of civil war between Jewish and Arab militias at
the end of the British Mandate of Palestine and turned into a regular war after the declaration of
independence of Israel and the intervention of several Arab armies. In its conclusion, a set of

In 1978, Israel launches Operation Litani the first Israeli large scale invasion of Lebanon, which
was carried out by the Israel Defense Forces in order to expel PLO forces from the territory.
Continuing ground and rocket attacks, and Israeli retaliations, eventually escalate into the 1982 War.
1982 Lebanon War Began on 6 June 1982, when the Israel Defense Forces invaded southern
Lebanon to expel the PLO from the territory. The Government of Israel ordered the invasion as a
response to the assassination attempt against Israel s ambassador to the United Kingdom, Shlomo

by the Palestinian guerilla organizations which resided in Lebanon. The war resulted in the
expulsion of the PLO from Lebanon and created an Israeli Security Zone in southern Lebanon.

Research Paper On Polar Bears
Polars bears are top predators in the Arctic and are therefore exposed to high levels of pollutants
through their food. The popular belief that polar bears live in a pure frozen wilderness is a
fantasy. The food chain in the Arctic contains high levels of toxic chemicals. Bears who have
high levels of persistent organic pollutants have low levels of vitamin A, Thyroid hormones, and
some antibodies. These are important for a wide range of biological functions, such as growth,
reproduction, and the ability to fight off diseases (2016, WWF). Female polar bears with partially
developed male sexual organs have be seen in around 1.5% of the polar bears observed in Svalbard
in recent years, it is believed this could be the result of long range pollutants
Les Florets
Post Negotiation Analysis Les Florets Entering Les Florets negotiation, I had set for myself rules.
Besides my will to buy the restaurant, I had some intermediary objectives to help reach my goal.
First, I needed to learn more about the seller s reasons to sell. This way I could offer her different
solutions to solve the situation. Second, I needed to be flexible, despite the limit of $160,000. That
meant I needed to maintain a margin in the negotiation around the price, and I decided to start with
a price of $140,000, saying since I am not usually in charge of buying new restaurants, I am limited
in the money I can spend. This way, I could difficultly raise my offer to $150,000 but negotiate other
things, notably that the seller would... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
My intent was simply to make sure she knew she needed an agreement with me, more than I did. I
needed her to believe that reaching an agreement with me was her best alternative. Obviously, our
price targets were different and unmatchable. She needed to have $190,000 and I could not pay
more than $160,000. Just making propositions and trying to be flexible on additional things
besides the price was not enough, because she thought she needed the money immediately. At least,
it was not enough until the seller knew she had no better alternative outside the one I was able to
offer. Also, I learned that although it may seem a lot better to maintain cordiality and an
atmosphere of trust during the negotiation, at some point, when it is not going anywhere, it might
be better to adopt a stronger position. Mainly, it had to be used to show the other party that even if
an agreement is profitable for both parties, there is a point of no return, that it is time to really start
looking for other solutions, more creative ones. After having established my position over the seller,
making new propositions was a lot easier. Also, she had realized that not reaching an agreement
with me meant that she could not pursue her life s dream, whereas reaching an agreement with me
made it possible for even if it meant having to delay for a few months. Adopting a stronger position
