12 Angry Men Psychology
There are many examples of social psychology illustrated in the movie Twelve Angry Men
directed by Sidney Lumet. This film takes place around the 1950 s and jurors have to choose
whether or not a man will be charged innocent or guilty on the murder of his dad. In the beginning
of the film, only eleven of the twelve men choose to plead guilty. Then shortly after a strong debate,
the jurors begin to change their minds to charging the boy as innocent. This movie shows strong
examples of social psychology through aggression, group process and conformity. This analysis will
explain some of these social psychological examples in much more detail.

For example, aggression is shown when the jury is discussing who has changed their mind on the
vote. Some and even most of the jurors are mad because one of the others is trying to explain why
he s changed his mind on voting non guilty. Many of the examples of aggression come from the
frustration of the jury against each other. There is a moment when a switchblade acts as a sign of
aggression by one of the jurors showing one how to use it properly showing that the boy was
aware of how to use the blade. Some of the scenes where the jury is discussing why or why not the
boy should be proven guilty or non guilty show conform to support the social psychological
example of aggression in this film. Several examples of group process are also shown throughout
this film. Group polarization is when a group discusses something that will strengthen the main
point of a subject, which is an example of a group process. This normally leads towards a negative
shift in decisions. Twelve Angry Men shows these processes but only with ridicule by Fonda and his
allies. Group process includes things like group polarization, social compensation, groupthink and
social loafing. Another example of group process shown in this film is All of these are examples

Mona In The Promised Land
Mona in the Promised Land plays in 1968, a time when identity politics and ethnic allegiance had
developed into prominent and pompous features of the American cultural landscape. Gish Jen set out
to restore some perspective to the acculturation debate. She did this with wit, and reminding us that
the debate itself has roots, in the 1960 s, one of the most illustrious decades of the twentieth century.
THESIS?
What is race? Some people attach race to a biological meaning, yet others use race as a socially
constructed concept. Most biologists and anthropologists do not recognize race as a biologically
valid classification, in part because there is more genetic variation within groups than between them
(. So, it is clear that even though race does not have a biological meaning, it does have a social
meaning usually detrimental to our social harmony. Race is neither an essence nor an illusion, but ...

The setting and time period of this story supports the adventurous innocence of its youthful
characters, as well as enriching the story s momentous and climactic confrontation between the
forward looking Mona, and her more traditional mother, Helen.

Helen holds onto the more traditional values she was taught to live by growing up in an oppressive
China. Although, we find that even Helen is not completely sure what being Chinese looks like,
having been raised by French nuns. But she is holding on tightly to the things she associates with
being Chinese, like being a good Chinese daughter
Mona, on the other hand, carries a kind of open mindedness and curiosity that is sometimes
associated with idealistic American youth: never just accepting things for how they are, and
questioning anything that seems unjust. Mona no longer will put up with inhabiting the role of
good Chinese daughter that her parents especially Helen have laid before
Slasher Informative Speech
The Slasher Film: The Modern Day Fairy Tale

General Purpose: To inform the audience about the psychological appeal of the slasher film, a brief
history of the genre, and the links to urban legends and fairy tales.
Specific Purpose: To inform the audience about direct link to morality tales and the slasher film
genre.
Thesis Statement: Slasher films are modern day morality tales, rooted deeply in urban legends and
fairy tales, as clearly depicted in John Carpenter s Halloween, where characters are punished with
violence for their risky behavior.

I.Introduction

A.When asked to describe the two types of horror films, director Guillermo del Toro stated: Much
like fairy tales, there are two facets of horror. One is pro institution, which is the most
reprehensible type of fairy tale: Don t wander into the woods, and always obey your parents. The
other type of fairy tale is completely anarchic and antiestablishment Guillermo del Toro. (Attention
Getter) In my presentation I will focus on the aspect of the slasher film genre as modern day fairy
tales, with an underlying message of morality.
B.John Carpenter s 1978 film Halloween epitomizes the slasher films, encompassing the most
common themes of this genre, including teenagers making the transition into adulthood by engaging
in reckless behavior, a maniac using violence as a teaching tool for the audience, a final survivor
girl, and an immortal maniac. (Thesis)
C.In my presentation I will briefly describe the history
How To Stop Frisking
Stop and frisking is where officers are able to come up to you if they have reasonable suspicion of
someone that might be hiding something illegal. There are no set parameters that have to be
made for them to stop someone, allowing them to go up to anyone, anywhere, at any time and
search them for illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia along with unregistered guns. When
reasonable suspicion is brought into this it just makes it all a mess. Even though there are specific
things that someone need to meet to be frisked most of the time it is up to the officers discretion.
Making it a big problem because if the officer does not have a body camera that is on when
approaching the suspect, they can say that they met what was needed to search them. This can be a
problem because the policecan either knowingly or unknowingly be racially profiling people. People
get nervous for no reason, afraid that the police will target them or harass them for nothing. This is
something that is a concern for the community, causing a loss in trust and a concern about the
legitimacy of what the police are doing. Another... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When they came up to the homeless people in the park, right off the start they starting racially
profiling them. Thinking one of them was a Crip, looking in the bushes for stuff they might have
tossed out, etc. All of these people where African American, and when they stopped and asked the
people out side the Dunkin Doughnuts what they where up to, they where Hispanic, and the kids
who were walking on the side of the road, they too were African American. The two officers deny
racial profiling but from what I read in the article it is hard to believe that race did not play a role
at all in who they were stopping. Another time they stopped two Cubans one with a knife on them
and the other carrying alcohol. Right away the officers were asking them if they were apart of a
known gang in the
Art Building 1943-59
This essay will inform the contrasts of two very important art galleries built 9 years apart. The
Guggenheim, 1943 59, was built solely for Solomon R, Guggenheim to exhibit his collection of
both modern and contemporary art from around the world. This building in New York was said to
be one of the architect s most important public projects , the architect being Frank Lloyd Wright.
The building that will be put into contrast with the Guggenheim is the Neue Nationalgalerie in
Berlin, 1962 68. Mies Van der Rohe was asked to design this new gallery during the modernism
period in an act to revive the city of Berlin after the war as part of Kultureforum , a development of
new cultural institutions . The Guggenheim museum in New York is unlike any other art gallery
/ museum in the world. Its round, top heavy shape is something like no other and Wright prided
himself on this artistic integrity1. The section of the Guggenheim, shown in Figure 3, shows that the
main exhibition spaces are ramped from the top floor all the way down to the ground floor. This

The reason he did this was to distinguish the museum from every other tall building that created
the then skyline of New York. To do this, he showed the building on an entire block with an
apartment building on the left and a ramp on the right and inbetween the two, offices and museum
work facilities7. Figure 5 shows the revised plan for the Guggenheim. The Public and private
spaces can be clearly differentiated through the thick walls and large, open spaces. Such examples
are the main entrance located in the centre of the bottom of the plan and the main gallery space
which are both open spaces exposed to the public whereas the studios on the outer walls of the
gallery are smaller and shut in with thick
What Are The Similarities Between Kanye West And Hype...
Kanye West and Hype Williams have been accused by the film director Gaspar Noé for ripping
off his fantasy movie Enter the Void for the All of the Lights music video. The similarities
between the two videos were criticized by fans and critics in 2011, but Noé remained silent about
it until now. In an interview, the film director finally addressed the controversy and has spoken
about it. He revealed he was never consulted by the rapper during the making of the music video.
Instead he was surprised when he saw Kanye s video and couldn t help but notice the similarities
of it. He said he was totally in shock after he noticed William s name was added to the content,
using his typography. The director (Hype Williams) was someone else who
Case Study Of The Alaska Milk Corporation
Table 4.10 Key Success Factors (KSF) KSF Type:Rationale: Established Brand Name and Customer
LoyaltyThe Alaska Milk Corporation is already on its 44th year in the market and Filipinos grew up
with this brand of quality milk products. It cannot survived throughout the 4 decades if they didn t
have the strong brand equity that they built all over the years. Distribution AMC serving not just

With the continuous Positive growth for the of our economy (GDP growth and one of the fastest
growing consumer spenders) it will become a factor in AMC s increase in sales because Filipinos
will become less price sensitive in buying their milk products they are willing to spend more on
perceived benefits and the level of being price conscious are slowly becoming relaxed and they
are more willingly to spend in addition Alaska s products are affordable. The rise of the Lifestyle
on the go and healthy consumption trend among Filipino consumers also give rise to Alaska s
milk products with their products having ready to drink properties and also milk itself naturally
has healthy benefits to the body of an individual. The continuing effects of El Niño in the country
have positive and negative effects for Alaska milks products. The positive effect is an expected
increase in their canned evaporated milk products which is used by Halo Halo makers in our
country especially during hot season. The negative side of this phenomenon is we all know
whenever the temperature is high milk products are easily to be spoiled. The regulation of the
Government to Junk food drinks (soft drinks and artificial juices) gives rise to the milk product as a
healthy alternative to the said regulated drinks. The Government s regulation on breast milk feedings
can be a threat to manufacturers of
Video Games Come to Life
My heart hammered in my chest as I raced out of the doorway just ahead of another explosion.
Fragments from the blast sent pinpricks of searing pain shooting through my nervous system and
gave me a new spurt of energy. Screaming like a madman, I sped across the courtyard and then
scrambled over a low wall, falling into what I hoped was some sort of temporary refuge. The
constant string of explosions abated, so I attempted to collect myself and take stock of my
situation. My injuries weren t all that serious, so I hastily popped a pain pill into my parched
mouth and washed it with a refreshing swig of water from my flask. Noting an angle in the wall
to my left, I scurried around a small shrub towards the safety of two solid walls at my back and
the protective screen of the bush. And I found my salvation there, nestled in the shadows of a
recess at the bottom of the wall. Like a jackal to carrion I pounced and scooped my prize up, then
crouched in my obscure hiding spot. I tensely scanned through the leaves of the bush in front of
me, alert for any hint of movement. My search was almost instantly rewarded, as my pursuer,
howling like a banshee, burst through a pair of large wooden gates about twenty yards in front of
me. I popped up out of my hiding spot, centered the crosshairs of my newly acquired rocket
launcher, and squeezed off a shot just as he turned in my direction. I was close enough to see the
look of bloodlust on his face turn to mortal fear in his microsecond
