C. S. Lewis s Chronicles Of Narnia
The Twentieth century was fraught with many tragic moments. The two main tragedies of this
century were the two world wars. Many lives were lost due to these wars and many nations
grieved these losses, especially Britain. The world, after the two wars, turned to despair and all
faith and trust in God in a movement of modernism. Through this movement of modernism
people rejected the idea of the antiques and lost faith in religion. With the world wars, leading to
the postmodern period, this only got worse. People believed that God left them as they all asked
the question, not so new to us, why has an all good God allowed all of these horrible things to
happen? When people have placed their trust in an all good, all powerful God and He does... Show

Lewis s Chronicles of Narnia series. The first story to be published was The Lion, the Witch, and the
Wardrobe. The pevensie children are evacuated into the country during the midst of world war
two. While under the care of professor Kirke they come to find a wardrobe where it leads to the
fictitious land of Narnia. Narnia seems beautiful, but has been under the control of the white
witch for at least a hundred years and the children are called to defeat her with the help of the
Christ like figure, Aslan. When Aslan sacrifices himself the children must somehow defeat the
witch, but due to a deeper magic that has been around before the dawn of time,in which an
innocent person will one day be resurrected. When Aslan resurrects he helps defeat the witch and
peace is restored. This story helps give hope that good will always conquer evil, no matter how grim
it seems as Jesus did when He sacrificed himself on the cross for us and resurrected three days later.

While not only finding God in the midst of suffering, there is also the fact that we need to live in
virtue. T.S. Elliott explains this in his poem, The Waste Land, in which he describes a society that
has become violent and immoral, much like the society described in Lord of the Flies where
children are left on an island and must survive. Eliot was describing a society after the first world
war and would only continue to get worse after the second world war. In the end of the poem, Eliot
prescribes a solution to keep society from furthering into this waste land through giving, self control,

with his term, which is to visit his office to demonstrate his math skills and he would have to see
a therapist. After several therapy sessions, many of the therapist would not take Will due to his
foolishness. This was a problem for Lambeau so he went to seek an old friend who was willingly to

Moral Of Antigone
The play begins as Antigone and her sister Ismene speak of the death of their brothers Polyneices
and Eteocles. However, it is important to note that what events precluded this scene, which was
sparked by Eteocles s taking reign of the Thebes after Oedipus had died. It ultimately caused
Polyneices to wage a battle against his former city and drove the two brothers to kill one another
(Sophocles8). Thus, leaving Creonwho was both of brother s uncle in control of the city of Thebes.
Antigoneand Ismene discuss the proclamation newly put forth by Creon which was due to the fact
that Polyneices committed treason against Thebes he would not be granted a burial, thus foregoing
the Unwritten Law protecting the rights of the dead (Sophocles 9). It was this decree that provoked
Antigone to opposed Creon as she decides to bury Polyneices herself and she attempts to recruit
Ismene to help her with this action, however, Ismene tried to persuade Antigone not to go through
with the burial.
As the play progresses it comes to Creon s attention by one of the guards that Polynieces body has
been buried and eventually the guard determined it was Antigone and brings her in front of Creon.
Antigone admitted to the burial and Creon ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Therefore, it is important to analyze the main characters from the story and determine, specifically,
what characteristics came to comprise each of them. To begin we shall consider the role of Ismene
who was more concerned with respecting the law and doing what she was told by the authority in
power. For she was fearful of the repercussions the that would be inflicted upon her if she disobeyed
the law rejecting Polyneices burial. She let fear take control and ultimately affect the relationship she
held with
Aviation And Aerospace Decision Making
Aviation Aerospace decision making by pilots

Abstract

A pilot s career doesn t just start up as soon as he takes the license, but it s a start of a long way
that would be accompanied with technological advancements and multiple trainings to be on top of
things since its well known that a high percentage of accidents are usually human based. Training
pilots is one factor that has to be balanced by decision making skills such as a great pilot judgment.
The issue of pilot decision making has a great impact on the safety of aviation, hence our aim here is
to help the pilot s in improving their decision making skills in accordance with mitigating risks that
accompany each flight.

Supply Chain Paper
Introduction The area of business that we have decided to research is the world of automobile
dealerships. When discussing the supply chain of car dealerships, it is important to discuss both
their brick and mortar facilities and their organizational web sites. Both the brick and mortar
facilities and the web sites play a vital role in the success of modern day car dealerships, so it is
important to discuss both. First, we will the brick and mortar environment. Brick and Mortar Supply
Chain Describing the supply chain of a traditional brick and mortar automobile dealership is very
similar to explaining the supply chain of a typical business to consumer organization. The suppliers
provide the materials to create parts for the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many people dislike going to car dealerships because they do not like pushy salespeople or
haggling for an acceptable price for the vehicle they are searching for. The web site provides an
easy way to get a quote for a price that the consumer may like and go to the dealership to finalize
the sale. The web sites that provide this type of service receive income from the dealerships that
provide the lists of their cars and quotes. Most of the time the quoted price is fair because most of
the time individuals who use the web to get a quote have already done their research on the World
Wide Web for prices on the vehicle he or she is interested in. So how does the supply chain differ
than a brick and mortar supply chain? Like the brick and mortar supply chain the car
manufacturers are important to the supply chain. The car manufacturers produce the vehicles that
end up sitting in car dealerships or warehouses ready for distribution. Car dealerships are the next
key component that makes the supply chain work. The car dealerships provide web sites such as
newcars.com with a listing of their cars with its corresponding quote. The web site is paid by the
car dealerships to display their cars and quotes online. The web site then must pay for their
registered domain name, internet marketing and web hosting costs. There is also cost involved in
the designing and re designing of the web site to appeal to those visiting
United States Abortion Laws Pro Choice
United States Abortion Laws Pro life versus pro choice has always been a controversial issue due to
religious reasons and our countries constitutional rights. The woman s right to have a say on her
pregnancy has slowly progressed throughout our countries history, while only allowing women the
right to make their own choice on whether or not to keep their unborn child within the past 50 years.
The 1973 Roe v. Wadedecision guaranteed a woman s right to an abortion, states Judith S.
Baughman, editor of American Decades. However, this was not always the case and still causes
controversy among many people living in America due to religious reasons.
Those who follow specific religions argue that abortion is a murderous act and that it is the
government s duty to protect all life. On the other hand though, the other side believes that it should
be the woman s choice on whether or not to keep her child. This is because it is her own body and
she has the right to do as she please with it. No matter what the woman decides though, both sides
make strong points and raise questions to what actually should be the right decision.
When you deny me a means to end my unwanted pregnancy, you deny me the opportunity to
participate in society in the way that my brother or husband can. Better nurseries, better financial
support can mitigate some of the consequences of motherhood but nothing can mitigate the impact
of pregnancy itself, which is why women need the means to end it mentions
Factors Affecting Juror Behavior Towards Perpetrators and...
Our current study examines juror behaviour towards perpetrators and victims in a criminal trial
setting. Taken into account, are two factors hypothesized to influence the judicial outcome of
criminal trials in Canada and the United States. Primarily, that a juror s level of belief in a just
world (BJW) influences his or her decisions towards both the perpetrator and victim, with those
jurors measuring higher in BJW being more apt to blame the victim for his or her own misfortune.
Second, that the relationship between BJW and the victim blamingbehaviour of the juror is mediated
by whether the victim is portrayed as innocent, having done nothing to deserve victimization; or
portrayed as non innocent, having contributed to their own misfortune through careless or immoral
behaviour. We analyzed data for main effects of both BJW and victim type on outcome variables
perpetrator sentencing and victim monetary compensation. Data was further analyzed for possible
interaction effects between BJW and victim type using multiple regression analysis, retaining the
continuous characteristic of the BJW predictor variable. Results revealed no significant interaction
effects or main effectof BJW on either dependent variable, however, a significant main effect of
victim type was observed.
It is not uncommon for people in unfortunate situations to be cited as the source of their own
troubles. If someone has been mugged walking home, they must have somehow been responsible by

The Trouble with Violence in Northern Ireland Essay
In the past century we have experienced a vast majority of violent acts towards minority groups
such as blacks, Jews, homosexuals and others. According to BBC the Troubles of Northern Ireland
represent one of the latest examples of religious, ethnic, geographic and political conflict. The
Troubles started in the late 1960s and it is considered by many to have ended with the BelfastGood
Friday Agreement of 1998. After more than 30 years of civil conflict, peace had finally been
achieved. However, random violence acts have continued since then. How did the Belfast Good
Friday Agreement end the Troubles in Northern Irelandand how is the country today? The island was

The IRA targeted soldiers and policemen, but while doing so they killed civilians. To keep them
apart, the capital, Belfast transformed into a war zone, and walls were built to prevent the groups
from attacking each other. For many years Belfast was known as the Barricaded city . Protestants
also formed groups, which carried out attacks against Catholics. In the 1970s and 1980s,
approximately 3,000 people were killed, with many more injured. Despite the Protestants majority,
the creation of Northern Ireland did not bring security to them because it was clear that London was
never as committed to the Union as the Protestants were. The Protestant leaders assumed that the
new state could only exist if they had the power therefore they made sure that their power should be
both strong and permanent. As result they changed the voting system and the electoral boundaries
(gerrymandering). Nationalists and Catholics were considered as second class citizens, and
dangerous to the state. They were seen with being less deserving of jobs and houses than their
Protestant neighbors, they were discriminated in the public service, in education as well. The
representatives of Nationalists and Catholics were also banned from political power and influence.
In addition to being discriminated they were also complaining to the government because of the use
of special powers against republicans.
Destruction Of Innocence
Isn t it crazy how growing up works? Every child is born innocent, yet how they choose to lose it,
is dependent on what choices they make in life, and others choices. In To Kill a Mockingbird by
Harper E. Lee, Jem and Scout symbolically represent the mockingbird by illustrating that innocence
is often destroyed at the hands of others experience.
Jem had a particular way of destroying his innocence. Although To Kill a Mockingbird was
primarily about racism and bigotry, Jem experienced backlash and hatred even from kids he knew.
One clear example of this new experience, is when Jem barked, My sister ain t dirty, and I ain t
scared of you (Lee 78). Jem is still a young child, and many people seem to forget that. Jem
experienced a lot for being ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Adults were often the reason for Scouts destroyed innocence, and even some of her childhood.
People would say things that scout recognized as bad. As she was with her family, she said A
nigger lover. I ain t very sure what it means, but the way francis said it... (Lee 86), while referring
to Francis. A mockingbird is someone who is realizing the world as a destruction of innocence. In
this case, she does not know what a nigger is, but she knows that it is wrong. Her innocence is
starting to leave, like the true mockingbird she is. Even if it is at the beginning of her life.
Innocence can also be portrayed through an understanding of social justice. It is a main theme in the
book, but scout is starting to understand this more and more. The Tom Robinson case was no
different with social justice, and the issues that were present. When told that there were four
different types of people, she questioned I told Jem if that was so, then why didn t Tom s jury
made up of folks like the cunninghams, acquit Tom like the Ewells? Jem waved my question away
as being infantile. (Lee 226). People were questioning Scout as she gained a clear understanding of
problems with social justice. A mockingbird is a very smart bird, as Scout is a very smart girl.
Through her destruction of innocence she is starting to realize that the world isn t as fair, or as true
as she thought. Others decisions have helped her gain an understanding of the world and with that,
her lost innocence. Scout being very smart does not help with her depleting innocence, but others
decisions are making it worse and worse, and she knows too much for a little
Rationing And Allocation Of Health Care
RATIONING AND ALLOCATION IN HEALTH CARE SCARCITY

Abstract The cost and availability of health care have been the focus of contentious for both public
and political discussion. Even though government and private organization contribute to health care,
costs continue to rise at a rapid pace. The rising costs and the increase in health insurance premiums
making complication to the greatly challenged notion especially in western societies. Many factors
influence the increasing the cost of health care, making different to keep quality for healthcare
resources. Measures have been taken to provide efficient and equitable allocation of health care
resources. Many clinicians taking the ways to impose efficiency to care and a better monitor the
efficiency. However, in retrospect stand alone efficiency improvemnt strategies have proven to be
insufficient.
With the increase in health care rising fast both physicians and administrators face scarcity for
resource. Under these face, relative scarcity the distribution of resources becomes ethical as well as
finanicial issue. When we look through the ethical view it is better to find the answers for the
distribution of resources. Distribution of resources is served with need, equality, contribution, ability
to pay, effort and merit.1

Introduction:
Health care rationing goes by price which means it is for them who can pay for it. When healthcare
is increased it is often viewed for the one who is in need and the facilities are given for a
The Effects of Rising Sea Levels Essay
The Effects of Rising Sea Levels
Introduction:
Over the last several decades, climate change has evolved from a polarizing discussion to what will
likely be the largest collaborative research project of our generation. While many aspects of climate
change are still misunderstood, there is little debate that the concentration of carbon dioxide in the
atmosphere is rising at an alarming rate. This rise is considered the main cause behind an increase in
global temperature, which has set in motion a chain reaction of climatic events.
Atmospheric carbon impacts the temperature of the Earth because it is a greenhouse gas. When
visible light from the sun heats the surface of the earth, some of the energy is transmitted back
towards the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While thermal expansion is difficult to observe on a small scale, such as a glass of water, it can
have a significant impact on a massive volume of water such as the combined oceans of the world.
Melting land ice, the other major factor in the sea level rise, is a more straightforward issue. As
global temperature increases, land based glaciers and ice will melt sooner and accumulate later.
Naturally, this runoff will lead to an increase in the total amount of water in the ocean.
The combination of these and other trends was an estimated average sea level increase of 1.5mm
per year between 1961 and 2003, which reached 2.4mm per year in the decade from 1993 to 2003.
The decades prior to this trend showed only minor fluctuations in sea level, suggesting that the
current rate exceeds what could be caused by natural cycles. While the exact impact of rising
oceans is difficult to determine, it is certain that the consequences will include some degree of
flooding, integration of salt water into water tables, and a loss of land due to coastal erosion and
submersion.6

Hypothesis:
Decades of research suggest that sea levels are rising, and will continue to rise as a result of climate
change. This rise will have the most immediate and significant impact on
