Heart Attack Research Paper
Myocardial Infarction
Heart disease is the leading cause of death in America. 1 in every 4 deaths in the United States is
from Heart disease. 720,000 people suffer from heart attacks per year of these 205,000 are repeat
heart attacks. More than half a million people actually die from heart attacks each year. So you can
see this is a major issue with society today. Most of these deaths could be avoided with the right
knowledge. If everyone was informed on what causes heart attacks, how to prevent them and how
the process takes place then less people would die from it.
Heart attacks are caused by a disruption of blood supply to the heart muscle. When the blood supply
is interrupted it will cause the muscle to die or cause damage because the ... Show more content on

There are many different conditions that can happen with this complex system but there are also
many antibodies and cells that are in place to prevent fatal things from occurring within the body.
With a heart attack that is brought on by plaque buildup, there are phases in which it will occur. It
all starts in the endothelium. This is a thin layer of cells that lines the inside of the vessels,
arteries and lymphatic vessels. Our endothelium is very important because that is the surface that
the blood touches while flowing through the vessels in the body. The endothelium can be
damaged by smoking, toxic chemicals and metals, unhealthy dieting, high insulin intake, stress
and high blood pressure. Endothelium is normally very smooth and the damage causes it to
become porous. The pores give fat particles in the blood steam a place to become wedged into the
internal lining of the endothelium. There are also some uncharged molecules that will stick to
the fat particles and damage them and turn the formation into LDL (low density lipoprotein). This
becomes oxidized and the immune system kicks into action. Cells then surround the area in the
layer and release chemicals and it causes inflammation, while the intima layer under the
endothelium is also releasing a sticky substance for monocytes to stick to. They are focused on
getting any foreign objects out of the body so that it can resume the normal body function. White
blood cells also surround the site and they get stuck and destroyed. This cycle happens with many
different cells trying to rid the body of the foreign object and they end up getting stuck and this is
when a fibrous cap is formed around all the dead cells and fatty substance. It bubbles out of the
artery wall like an inverted swollen bulge in a hose pipe. So basically plaque buildup creates more
plaque to arise. This large growth of plaque in the blood stream can be deadly because
Actus Reus And Mens Reus
Actus Reus and Mens Reus regarding murder.
Actus Reus is the physical act of the crime why the defendant did what they did? Referring back to
murder the defendant could have unlawfully kill someone if they had a bad intention but if the
defendant did it for self defence then it is not classed as unlawful. Omissions as Actus Reus is
killing the victim e.g. stabbing them, running them over, shooting them etc. the natural rule of
omission cant actually make the defendant guilty of the act he has committed. This was told by
Stephen J, a 19th century judge in the following way and I quote A sees B drowning and is able t
save him by holding out his hand. An abstains from doing so in order that B may be drowned. A
has committed no offence an omission is only agreeable for the Actus Reus, where there is a duty to
act. There are four important positions in which such duty can exist.

A contractual duty is an arrangement which involves a legal agreement between people, for
example in Pittwood (1902) a railway crossing keeper has a duty of shutting the gates of the
crossing when a train was due, but he failed to do so. A person was crossing the line was struck
and killed by the train. Because the keeper failed to do his duty the keeper would be guilty for
manslaughter.

A duty because of a relationship is duty a person has towards another person for example a duty of
a parent towards their child. The parent has a duty of ensuring the child is fed, clothed and safe. Foe

Lady Macbeth Foil
In the play Macbeth there are many characters that you would say are a foil character to the
Macbeth, however, the one who is a major foil to Macbeth is his beloved wife Lady Macbeth. Lady
Macbeth is a woman that is more ambitious than her husband, she is a person who is not scared of
murder, and pushes Macbethto commit the murder of King Duncanthus making her a foil character
to Macbeth. Macbeth is a physically powerful man with a kind heart because of this Lady
Macbeth worried that it would get in the way of their plan to kill the king. This worry caused her
to call upon the power of darkness, saying that she would commit the murder herself if she did not
have the womanly feelings she would receive afterward such as guilt and remorse.
Peyton s Character Analysis
As a child Peyton s only toys were real puppies and dogs all other toys were ignored. She never
used baby dolls either, it had to be an animal. Peyton was a shy person not scared of a situation,
but observed and watched before joining. Peyton s made lots of friends, after she warmed up to
the children and opened up. There were never any issues with getting along with people Peyton
gave everyone a try. As far as activities go, arts and crafts along with being outside were big. Being
from such a small town and a stay at home mom Peyton wasn t in many outside activities. Infancy
with Peyton was very difficult, because nothing was by the books and development was above
average. It was important that everyone was on the same schedule in the household. By three days
old, Staci had to spoon feed cereal to Peyton to get her on a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Peyton would nurse bottles a lot as a baby and projectile vomited almost all brands of formula. So,
by 6 months of age Peyton was eating regular food and drinking whole milk from a sippie cup.
Peyton also surprised Staci when she was walking by 9 months and how she has always been
able to hold her head up since day one. In the toddles years Peyton was stubborn, hard headed, and
very defiant personality that really came through. It was mind boggling that she had a child that
didn t like cartoons or animation everything watched was real life. Peyton had extreme spouts of
anger as a toddler and the only calming elements were water and puppies. Staci still isn t sure if it
was due to not hearing correctly as a child. As an adolescent Peyton turned out to be very docile
and never had another temperament of anger since toddler years. During free time Staci wanted to
keep her kids busy as possible and got a part time job for a roller arena she was able to take her
children teaching Peyton to skate independently by 4 years of
Ian Hodder
Another particular contribution of Ian Hodder to the development of archaeological thought can be
considered the development of reflexive archaeology and reflexive methods in archaeological
excavation. The details of what constitutes reflexive excavation methodology are based on
overcoming the gap between theory and practice by incorporating extensive interpretation during
excavation (Hodder 1997, 693). Hodder s viewpoint lies largely on a synthesis of critical engagement
in interpretations and theories while committing to the use of cutting edge methods in scientific
analysis. Emphasis is put on the idea that archaeological assumptions need to be reflexive, relational
or contextual, interactive and multivocal, all of which are factors incorporated into... Show more

Throughout his works that focus on reflexivity, Hodder proposes that in the past decades, there
has been a growing discrepancy between theory and practice in archaeology and that new ideas
and approaches are needed to bridge this gap (Hodder, Karlsson Olsen 2008, 37). His approach to
excavation is therefore a result of trying to move the practical side of archaeology away from the
relatively positivist and objectivist stance that has been prominent in the past years, and steering
it towards the ideals proposed by the post processual movement (Hodder, Karlsson Olsen 2008,
37). He achieves this not only by critical evaluation of himself and his methods, as has been
suggested by Salzman in his critique of reflexivity, but also by recording the thought processes in
the form of videos, diaries and interviews on site (Salzman 2002, 808). There has been much
discussion whether such approaches have been fruitful and brought any significant addition to
archaeology as a discipline (Hassan 1997, 1021; Yoffee 2003, 862; Chadwick
Analysis Of The Movie Good Morning Miss Allen
Good afternoon Miss Allen, how may I be of assistance? Barry heard Gideon, her personal
interactive artificial consciousness ask her as she walked into the small private room.
Gideon, show me the timeline that you wanted me to see.
The timeline in question showed up using Gideon s holographic features; Central City in ruins with
warps every other block while dangerous metahumans ran amok. The innocent civilians sitting in
their homes too afraid to leave the comfort of their houses, and the Flash doing everything she could
to stop the metahumans from tormenting them. Barry looked at the hologram in shock as she saw
burning buildings, cars turned each or every way, shattered glass, and bodies stacked on top of one
another.
Why is this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Upon entering she saw her scarlet friction proof suit staring back at her, taunting her, as if saying
she had to bring down Warp no matter the cost. She ignored the feeling and walked past it into the
training room to begin her afternoon exercise in order to think of a solution. By the time all three
of her teammates arrived she had over 750 mph and crashed into the padded wall about four times
before staring to run again. And a possible idea.
Hey Barry, we re all here. What s wrong? coming to a slow stop the female speedster looked up to
see Cisco Ramon talking to her through the intercom a worried expression on his face. Giving him
a small smile, she walked out of the training room and gestured to the cortex in which Caitlin and
Harry were waiting for them. Upon their arrival to the cortex, Caitlin and Harry looked from their
seats behind the computers. Caitlin shared the same look as Cisco while Harry had a curious
expression.
Barry took a deep breath, Gideon, I need you to show them the new timeline.
On que, the AI showed the hologram that she had showed her creator just 30 minutes ago. Seeing
this the Flash crew looked at the hologram with utter surprise, Cisco didn t even care about how
Gideon let herself be apart of the main interface. Barry felt their eyes staring at her waiting for her to
say something, anything.
Gideon has given me the news about the change in timeline due to the arrival of Warp,
The Catholic Church s View on Contraception Essay
Contraception is the deliberate prevention of conception or impregnation by various drugs,
techniques, or devices also more famously known as birth control. This research paper will examine
the views of both the Catholic Church and the view that opposes the Catholic Church on this
practice. Each view will be examined thoroughly with the reasoning behind each unique view.
The Catholic Church s view on contraception is simple. They believe that any act of sex must be
both unitive and procreative Birth control, by any means or techniques will halt the procreative
process and over time diminish the unity created by sex (Catechism). During the 1960s there was a
major boom in contraceptives; The Pill had just been created. It is at this point ... Show more content

He said that before sex there must be some responsibility and outlook on the future welfare of the
unborn child. The method that Pope John Paul II was referring to is called period continence, also
known as natural family planning (Natural Family Planing). Natural family planning is a means of
birth control through sex during infertile periods. According to the Catechism of the Catholic
Church, this is within the criteria of objective morality because it respects the body of the spouses,
encourages tenderness between them, and promotes an authentic freedom (Catechism, 2370).
In terms of the Catholic Church s point of view on certain subjects, their view on contraceptives is
the most dissented. Out of the 63 million women in the children bearing age (15 43) within the US,
43 million are both sexually active and do not want to have a child. Out of these 43 million, 89%
use contraceptives. The most common forms of birth control include the pill (or day after pill ),
tubal sterilization, the male condom, and vasectomy (Facts on Contraception). A survey in 1998
taken by Catholics for free choice claimed that 96% of catholic women had used contraceptives at
some point in their lives and that 72% of Catholics believed that one could remain a good catholic
without obeying the Catholic teaching of birth control (Catholics free choice). Out of the 24% of
Americans that are identified as Catholic, only 1.5% of those that are
Pastoral Care And Social Conflict
Pastoral Care and Social Conflict
By Keith L. Green Pamela D. Couture and Rodney J. Hunter did an outstanding job of reflecting
on the way pastoral care was executed in the church in the past; they were especially effective with
comparing and contrasting it the social, economic, and cultural issues people are faced with today.
As a result of some of these issues people have suffered Black people in particular. This suffering
sparked a need for change. The authors observe several of these issues such as: race, single
parenting, and post modern family, among others. In doing so, they focus on the pastoral work of
Charles V. Gerkin by reviewing numerous essays of people from different walks of life. They
discuss some of the traditional patterns in contemporary pastoral care, which has become a
challenge, and in some cases a hindrance for doing ministry work in society today. In the work of
Charles Chuck Gerkin, he draws upon the Gadamerian hermeneutical method, which is aimed
toward a fusion of horizons of Christian story and human story. While he valued the individual
conversations of chaplaincy and pastoral counseling, he also challenged pastoral care to consider the
congregational, social institutional and cultural aspect of its work. Drawing upon the work of
critical theory and of Erich Fromm in particular, Chuck was concerned with criticism of social
institutions as they perpetuated injustice. He looked as did others in the immediate post World War
II era,
Examples Of Psychological Conflict At Lear
In fact, the psychological conflict at Lear is the result of weakness and lack of awareness of what
he does because he was selfish, arrogant and does not listen to the advice of those close to his
Kingdom as a result; he banishes Kent out of the kingdom because he stands against his incorrect
decisions. which is against his daughter and the right division of the Kingdom in addition to the
foolish tried bitterness and reluctance to ignorance avoid sin but he was stubborn, proud,
selfishness, and insensitive. He does not know what to do because of his foolishness and weak
personality as a result, one may think, Lear, reached to the madness because he was inflicted by the
conflict between the reason and passion that led him to sense... Show more content on

Shakespeare seems to stress his independence of the medieval idea of tragedy and shows in the true
Renaissance spirit that man is an architect of his fate and not a victim of the blind goddess fortune.
(Frnaham,1963:18). In Act I. Scene I, it seems that the blindness begins in Lear s selfishness and
makes him blind to see the reality of his daughters, he is unaware of the fear and hatred that
Goneril and Regan have for him as a consequence of his preference for Cordelia. His physician
and consultant Kent gives him the following advice: see better, Lear: see better, Lear (I.i.14). In
addition, Kent implies that Lear is blinded blind to see the fact that Cordelia is the loyal daughter
while Goneril and Regan are the evil spawn. So it can be said that the roots of all Lear s problems
are his lack of good judgment and blindness. Mr. D. G. James in The Dream of Learning has
