My Choice For A Space
Tomkins Park, my choice for a space which encapsulates both the ideas of diversity and how that
urban form and constrains a certain group was challenging to decide upon, both on the side how
that space affects a particular group such as women, and how such a space may change, becoming
more accepting of that group. I chose a space, which was seemingly public and has a great level of
diversity of who uses this public space. I decided to partake in an observational study of Tomkins
Park, located in Calgary s Beltline neighbourhood of 17th Avenue. A relatively small public space,
which straddles several busy roads and businesses. My reasoning for choosing this space was the
amenities Tomkins Park offers, a public restroom, free to make use of... Show more content on

I observed a homeless women go into the restroom during the early hours of the day, only to have
a patrol officer come and forcibly open the door to the restroom, and then proceed to arrest her.
This space may seem welcoming to anyone who wishes to use it, however because of its location
in such a busy area, routine police patrols, to ensure that the space is still safe , meaning that
those who do not fit the description of a white, upper middle class individual will most likely be
repositioned to one of Calgary s already overburdened homeless shelters. Just a couple block from
the park is one of Calgary s most divided neighbourhoods, Mission, which, has a great wealth
divide of those who occupy it. Renters eagerly meek by in order to live there, while, large turn of
the century homes receive renovations to make way for the upper class to further gentrify this area
of the city. However, because of the businesses in this area, it is incredibly welcoming to the vast
amounts of foot traffic, so desired by the city s homeless.
I decided to stay in the park during a busy afternoon and make it appear as if I was reading while
taking notes on my observations. Many people walked through the space and appeared to have a
cordial demeanour to anyone else who may make eye contact
Planned Parenthood Pros And Cons
Planned parenthood is an organization that provides healthcare and sexual education to women,
men,and kids. Planned parenthood was created by Margaret Sanger, her sister Ethel Byre, and an
activist Fania Mindell, and the first center was opened October 16, 1916. The reason Sanger wanted
to create centers like this was because her mother had very fragile health conditions on getting
pregnant with her children. Therefore Sanger traveled to England to study birth control. Along her
way to England she educated as many people as she could on what we was going to do. The first
clinic that they opened was shut down because people were lining up to get in, so the police came
to see what was happening there and they shut it down. But that didn t stop... Show more content on

Pro life is opposed to abortion ( Merriam Webster Dictionary ). Women that have abortions at
planned parenthood facilities do not refer to killing the baby as an abortion they refer to it as
healing of a disease. They did a study and it showed most women have these abortions because they
want to restore their current self and to protect their future self. The current self is referred to as the
lifestyle she is currently living, and the future self is what she anticipate what her life will look like
in the future like her career or job. Planned parenthood works with this thinking in to convince the
women that having an abortion will make everything all right but normally the women are never the
same after their abortion. Planned parenthood centers don t provide the post treatment after an
abortion such as counseling, to treat the emotional, physical, and social needs after these women
have went through something so tragic. Finally, planned parenthood denies the humanity of the
unborn child (Pauls and Carl pp.315 324). They look at this situation as the fetus not being a human
just a random disease that
Oakdale Mismanagement Project Analysis
I examined the City of Oakdale redevelopment project and found mismanagement and ethical
violations that resulted in exacerbated cost for the local government. Angela Donny, the city
manager, contracted out the development project without proper deliberation (Hill and Lynn,
2014:370) and procedures, thus violating the city s code of conduct and undermining the resident s
trust on elected representatives and city s employees. Based on my analysis of the situation, I
propose that the city terminate this project. This memorandum provides my analysis of the
redevelopment project and presents a recommended approach to deal with it. Introduction Public
managers in their roles as both creatures and creators (Hill and Lynn, 2014:279) regularly encounter
a variety of situations where politics and power influence... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Reframe the issue Previous administration argued that the Board of Aldermen is against economic
development and change. The new administration along with the Board of Aldermen should
reframe the topic and tell the residents of Oakdale about all the possible externalities of going
ahead with the redevelopment project such as unnecessary cost associated with continuing the
project. In the long run, if the project is continued, the taxes would have to be raised and the
quality of the services would be reduced to implement the redevelopment project. 4.Initiate a new
project: A new well conceived developmental project should be initiated that is transparent and put
forth the interests of the City of Oakdale. The redevelopment project initiated by the previous
administration is ill planned and undermines the interests of residents of Oakdale. This is evident
from the feasibility report of independent firms (Cropf et al, 2010). A new plan that is well planned
and takes the fiscal condition of the city into account would ensure that new economic activity takes
place in the City of Oakdale, yet the quality of services provided to the residents are not
Tao Qian s Returning To The Farm To Dwell
Tao Qian was governor of Xu province during the late Eastern Han Dynasty of China and one of
China s greatest poets. Qian spent 13 years as a government official at different posts. Afterwards,
he became magistrate of Pengze and held this position for eighty days before suddenly resigning.
Qian s decision to resign was based primarily on his disgust with the excessive formality and
widespread corruption of the government at that time. He gathered up his wife and children and
moved to his family farm to pursue a life of self sufficiency and reclusiveness. Qian believed that
nature was a haven from administration and office; he thought individuals must remove themselves
to the countryside to bring them back to being one with nature. While some may argue that Tao
Qian s idea of seclusion from the chaos of the world made him a recluse, I believe it only created
his sanctuary. However, Qian had to reach complete destitute before he could achieve this.... Show

The poem, Returning to the Farm to Dwell, is about him returning to life as a farmer after giving
up his career as a government official. He describes his feelings of being in a world that he felt he
did not belong when he wrote, From early days I have been at odds with the world; / My
instinctive love is hills and mountains. / By mischance I fell into the dusty net / and was thirteen
years away from home (lines 1 4). This choice allowed him to pursue his true inclinations of his life:

The Story Of Tom Brennan Analysis
This period of our lives is a one bursting with challenging events and life changing transitions, don t
you think? However testing this phase may be though, it s how we accept and counteract these
alterations that ultimately opens up a deeper understanding of our world and self. J.C. Burke s
thought provoking novel, The Story of Tom Brennan and John Marsden and Matt Ottley s
heartbreaking picture book Home and away , address this concept of transition and their challenges
associated as each protagonist undergoes a catastrophic journey surrounding a challenged attitudeand
the need for maturity development.
This powerful characteristic that transitional phases possess have the potential to be a rewarding
experience, as they provide an individual with the opportunity for growth and knowledge
development through newfound relationships. In The Story of Tom Brennan , Tom exhibits this
through his bond with Chrissy following the dark trauma he endures caused by his brother Daniel.
Initially, Tom feels detached from his own identity as he refers to himself in third person I
missed...simple Tom Brennan , emphasising his deteriorated mental state. However, the relationship
he forms with Chrissy is instrumental in his recovery as he begins to find himself again. His
passionate tone in Today I kissed Chrissy Tulake, I felt like Tom Brennan epitomizes how this bond
empowers him to assert a stronger sense of personal identity. Burke, therefore, is able to reveal how

How Is Chillingworth Loathsome
Hawthorne portrays Chillingworth as loathsome because of his relentless pursuit of revenge. At the
beginning of the novel, Hester and Pearl are being confined in a prison cell for committing adultery
and Chillingworth, Hester s husband, meets with them because he is the town physician. At this
point in the book nobody in the town except for Hester and Chillingworth know that Chillingworth is
Hester s husband. As Chillingworth attempts to extract the truth from his wife, by directly
questioning her, ...Hester, the man lives who has wronged us both! Who is he (67)? This is the
beginning of Chillingworth s obsession with finding out the truth . Later on in the novel, Dimmesdale
is getting sick and the town advises him to move in with Chillingworth,

tuckman forming storming norming performing model
Bruce Tuckman s 1965 Forming Storming Norming Performing team development model
Dr Bruce Tuckman published his Forming Storming Norming Performing model in 1965. He added
a fifth stage, Adjourning, in the 1970s. The Forming Storming Norming Performing theory is an
elegant and helpful explanation of team development and behaviour. Similarities can be seen with
other models, such as Tannenbaum and Schmidt Continuum and especially with Hersey and
Blanchard s Situational Leadership® model, developed about the same time.
Tuckman s model explains that as the team develops maturity and ability, relationships establish, and
the leader changes leadership style. Beginning with a directing ... Show more content on

Bruce Tuckman refined his theory around 1975 and added a fifth stage to the Forming Storming
Norming Performing model he called it Adjourning, which is also referred to as Deforming and
Mourning. Adjourning is arguably more of an adjunct to the original four stage model rather than
an extension it views the group from a perspective beyond the purpose of the first four stages. The
Adjourning phase is certainly very relevant to the people in the group and their well being, but not
to the main task of managing and developing a team, which is clearly central to the original four
stages. adjourning stage 5
Tuckman s fifth stage, Adjourning, is the break up of the group, hopefully when the task is
completed successfully, its purpose fulfilled; everyone can move on to new things, feeling good
about what s been achieved. From an organizational perspective, recognition of and sensitivity to
Digital Communication And Electronic Data
Introduction Backing up digital communication and electronic data especially e mails is a very
important IT practice to insure against loss of data. The main reason for backup of e mails is
restore emails whenever required. There have been a lot of cases in the past where emails have
been deleted accidently or intentionally which has created problems in day to day working.
Deletion of emails have hindered court cases and delayed judgement in the past. Cases like
Zubulake v. UBS Warburg have been decided by adverse inference which is nothing but failure of
defendant to provide proof to defend themselves. The Policy presents a mandate for Universities
and colleges in a state to contract a licensed third party who is not bias to archive all the emails.
Unbiased Email archiving is important as more and more lawsuit are being filed and the
defendants are unable to submit any emails to prove themselves innocent. Some of the cases are
Zubulake v. UBS Warburg. [1], and FiTeq Inc. v. Venture Corp. [2] Siani v. State University of
New York at Farmingdale, 2010 WL 3170664 (E.D.N.Y. Aug. 10, 2010)[3] is a case where the
plaintiff Dominic Saini filed a case of violation of Age discrimination in Employment Act and
claimed an adverse inference in march 2010 that the defended State University of New York at
Farmingdale were unable to implement and effectively carryout litigation hold which resulted in
spoliation of electronic records. The judge acknowledged that the defendants were
Heavy Bleeding In Nursing Essay
Heavy bleeding (menorrhagia) is one of the most common problems women report to their doctors
(Centers for Disease Control (CDC), 2015). Menorrhagia affects more than 10 million American
women annually (CDC, 2015). This translates to menorrhagia affecting one of five women (CDC,
2015). Abnormal uterine bleeding can occur as a normal physiologic event, such as the irregular
bleeding that often accompanies menarche or perimenopause (Schuiling Likis, 2013). However, it
can also signal pathologic, life threatening conditions such as an ectopic pregnancyor endometrial
cancer(Schuiling Likis, 2013).
Some women do not know about abnormal uterine bleeding and that there are options available to
help them. Some women feel culturally that they cannot seek treatment for abnormal uterine
bleeding. Other women are afraid that they may have another serious health issue. As an advanced
practice nurse, educating women to feel empowered to take control for their health care is a part of
providing holistic care. Abnormal uterine bleeding needs to identified and treated as this can lead to
serious life impacting disorders such as anemia (CDC, 2015).

such as Von Willebrand disease, which can occur in up to 70% of cases of acute AUB (Bradley
Gueye, 2016). Some women will wait to seek care until they are acutely ill. Educating women about
options to increase quality of life is importance to decrease complications at various stages in their
Performance Works of Artists in the Decades after Minimalism
Enter At Your Own Risk

In this essay I will analyse performance works, particularly by female artists in the decades after
minimalism. How they used both the literal body, and participatory art as a vehicle to
communication contemporary art practice. Evaluating the affects these works have had on
contemporary art practice.
The role that minimalism played in the advent of performance art
Minimalism s greatest contribution to performance art was its dismantling of metaphor, the creation
of a purely self referential art, an art that didn t refer to anything outside of itself. Minimalisms
banishment of the figure and its reinscription of the body back onto the viewer set the groundwork
for an explosion of performance art. The main catalysts for this being women artists in the 1960 s.
For these artists who were already under represented within art, the banishment of the figure was a
complete anathema. This wave of feminist artists was the main stimulant for performance art.
The body in or on the terms of post minimalism would have to be a literal body without illusionistic
terms. As Yoko Ono put it, tackling art making with my entire body. The question they asked was a
confrontation with the successful dismantling of metaphor that predated them. On what terms could
the figure return? This presence of the literal body could only lead to the performer.
From the 1960s to the end of the 1980s artists such as Yoko Ono, Chris Burden, Carolee
Schneemann, Marina
Argumentative Essay On North Korea
North korea may be one of the most dangerous countries in the world. They claim to have
successfully tested a hydrogen bomb which can be more powerful than an atom bomb. This is a
major threat to not only the US but the entire world. As the president of the United states, Donald
Trump should not heckle them, but try to make peace with them. One thing i grew up believing is
that there are always two sides to a story. What if the people in North Koreajust want to be
respected? The president should arrange a meeting with not only north korea, but with the whole
world in order to create a treaty for peace. We don t really have an idea of what North Korea is
capable of, and i believe it is simply too dangerous to risk going into a nuclear war.
