Investigating The Interaction Of Reader Perspective And...
200PY Research Practical Report Assignment Part 1: RP2 Research Practical 2: To investigate the
interaction of reader perspective and relevance on item recall. Objective The aim of the study was
to achieve replication of Pichert and Andersen s (1977) study. Pitchert and Andersen s conducted a
study in which they asked participants to read a story and after participants were given different
perspectives from which they could recall it, they were either homebuyer or the burglar perspective
or none at all. 2 hypotheses were gatheredfor this study; the 1st was Burglar perspective participants
will recall more burglar items than house buyer perspective participants will and the 2nd was House
buyer perspective participants will recall... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A distractor task (counting triangles) was undertaken after participants were asked to recall as
much of the story as possible after which they were scored then the students were debriefed. 174
Students participated in the study. The study sample was randomly assigned to two independent
groups. Results The results of this study showed that those participants that were recalling
valuable items scored higher than the participants that were recalling household items. The test
assumption indicated that Mauchly s test was not violated X2 (0) = .000, p .05. This is because
there are two covariances. A 2 (perspective: housebuyer/burglar) x 2 (perspective revelance:
household items/burglar items) between subjects ANOVA was performed on the data. The main
effect revealed that the recalled item scores differed significantly over the two perspectives, F(1,
175) = 128.83, p .001 From the data collected a significant difference can be seen in the group s
scores particularly in performance avoidance skills. But to make sure we have analysed this
correctly a post hoc test was performed to find out exactly where the differences were. The
homogeneity variance assumption was tested to see whether the variance of the scores are the same
for the three groups, the significance is greater than 0.05. The significance was 0.70. The
homogeneity variance was not violated it and the assumption has been proved. Because there is a
significant difference between the groups, we

It was seven o clock in the morning on a Sunday afternoon. The sun was already peeking through
my window. I could feel the warmth of the sun as it was shining on my face. Lying there, I
listened to the sounds that only someone who was up at that time of the morning on a Sunday,
could hear. I listened as my neighbors cut their grass. I heard birds chirping, as if they were speaking
to me. Teresa, get up! Today is the big day . It wasn t normal for me as a teenager, to wake up on my

Looking back, I remember this moment as if it were yesterday. It seemed as if all my senses were
heightened. I can still remember the smell of the fresh cut grass, the freshly chalked lines, the feel of
the sun beating down on my exposed skin and the sounds of all the younger kids playing in the
back ground. More importantly though, I remember the way I felt when I first saw my
teammates. I felt a great sense of happiness. Additionally, I felt warm inside, a sense of
excitement, loved, needed, and wanted. Even though I had my biological family, I also had a
second family in them. This was my Sunday family. That game, that day, was one of our biggest
games! Not only was it against our biggest rival but the winner went on to play in the state
championship. The team we were playing had beaten us twice and we had beaten them twice as
well. We were evenly matched at every level, but still, I felt nervous, anxious, scared and even
excited. As a goalie, I knew that a lot of the important aspects of the game rested directly on my
shoulders, a feat to which I gladly accepted.
Finally, after what felt like a lifetime, the whistle blew. This indicated that the game had begun. We
had ninety minutes to show everyone, including ourselves, why we were the better team. As the
game progressed, it became apparent that I was struggling in my position. I had let two goals go in,

Mohamad Sidani showed us the practical side of what we learnt in the course regarding decision
making. For example, while studying, we learn the concepts in a general manner. However, the
challenge is in applying them to each circumstance we face. As he explained, the process of taking
a decision follows the same concept we have learnt, however; not word by word. It is more
spontaneous and to him it s very important to take his time, when possible, to study the different
alternatives and their possible outcomes. In addition, he weighs the possible benefits against the risk
of each option. After making up his mind, he keeps the decision to himself and makes sure it s the
best solution before announcing and implementing it. He admits that intuition is one of the factors
he bases his decisions on and sum up to 20%. However, it s not enough if it s not backed up by

I choose this topic as it indirectly affects the company that I work for, as we are in the aftermarket
truck accessories business. This report will concentrate on two of the three major auto makers in
North America. The third company has already filed chapter 11 in the bankruptcy court in New
York, Chrysler LLC. At the onset of 2009 all three of the auto makers were in very poor financial
positions; that is when the stimulus packages were introduced by the U.S. president Mr. Barrack
Obama. Chrysler LLC was the first to accept the stimulus package with General Motors not far
behind. Ford Motor Company still has not accepted any stimulus money from the U.S. Government.
What is so different between General Motors and Ford that one had to get help from the government
and the other did not? The differences in product and financial strategies along with listening to what
the customers want could be some of the major differences between the two surviving companies.

Porter s Five Forces Analysis

Michael Porter identified five forces that influence an industry. These forces are:
1.Degree of rivalry,
2.Threat of substitutes,
3.Barriers to entry,
4.Bargaining power of customers, and
5.Bargaining power of suppliers.
Like other industries operating under free market, capitalistic systems, viewing the automotive
industry through the lens of Porter s five

Big Brothers Big Sisters of America Impact of Organizational Changes n Team Members
Leaders are the central figures in a team, and they are attributed to the largest share of blame or
praise depending on the performance. New leaders in an organization are faced with many
challenges on how to start making an impact and successfully lead the subordinates on the set
mission. According to Kangas (2013), the key element for a new leader is to establish interpersonal
links and relationships that are necessary for learning about the organization. The success of the
leader and the organization as a team depends on the quality of interpersonal relationships that
develop to help the leader in implementing their mission. Additionally, the influence of leaders over
their followers is largely founded on the interpersonal relationship as members of a team (Kangas,
2013). Another major source of challenge for leaders in organizations is the implementation of
changes that affect the existing relationships and roles in major operations. BBBSA demonstrates
the challenges that can arise for new leaders in organizations in implementing changes and the
effectiveness of the Leader Member Exchange (LMX) theory in addressing leadership issues.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of America BBBSA is a non profit organization that has undergone two
major changes in operation and three leadership changes at the highest level over a short period. I

Exchange Rate and Trade Balance
THE IMPACTS OF EXCHANGES RATE CHANGES ON TRADE BALANCE: THE CASE OF
VIETNAM

1. Background of the study

Among various subjects in the field of international trade and monetary policy, the relationship
between real exchange rate and trade balance is one of the most popular topics, attracting extensive
studies in last couple decades. Although a lot of efforts have been made, international trade
economists have yet come up with a convergence point in theory to explain the moving direction of
trade balance as the result of currency depreciation or appreciation (Qiao, 2005). Empirical studies
also show divergence results of this topic. (Koray and McMillins, 1998). Moreover most of the study

Research Objectives and Questions
Research Objectives
The major aim of this dissertation is to study the relationship between real exchange rate and
balance of trade in Vietnam since the interception of Renovation Policy. The cope of the study will
especially focus on the period between 2007 and 2012, as Vietnam became the 150th members of
the World Trade Organization (WTO) on the January 11th 2007.
Research questions: * What can we really conclude about the effect of depreciation or appreciation
of Vietnamese Dong has on the trade balance? * Does the Marshall Leaner conditions hold and J
curve exist in Vietnam during above mentioned period? * Is that relationship significant enough so
that policy can be conducted base on the conclusion of previous question? * In the case monetary
authority choose to implement the result of previous questions, how long will it take for the
exchange rate policy to really effect trade balance.
Terms of Reference
The result of this research could be implement by monetary authority in Vietnam to determine the
real effect of forex policy on trade balance. Based on the result they can decide whether or not to
implement such policy to fight trade deficit problem in Vietnam.

1.What is the definition of research misconduct under each policy?

The National Science Foundation goes through the same definition as The University of Colorado
Denver by stating research misconduct includes falsification, fabrication and plagiarism when
proposing, performing, reviewing or reporting any research funded by the NSF. Also, it states
research misconduct does not include honest error of differences in opinion.
2.What is one key difference between the policies?
A very important key difference between these two definitions of research misconduct is the
National Science Foundation never mentions anything about protecting whistleblowers from
retaliation.
3.Do you feel this difference is important? Why or why not?
Yes, fell like this is a very important difference, because protecting whistleblowers should be
explicitly mentioned in the definition of research misconduct. Protecting retaliation against a
whistleblower confirms researchers are being kept honest and validates research is being done
ethically. If protection is not provided for whistleblowers, then individuals who are witnessing
research misconduct will be less likely to report an incidence in fear of retaliation. I do not think
properly defining research misconduct can be possible without including provisions to protect
individuals who are reporting these acts of falsification, fabrication and

The Occupy Wall Street Movement Essay
Occupy Wall Street has been called many things including: unfocused, ungrounded, and silly. Others
coin it as America s first internet era movement (Rushkoff). In quintessence, Occupy Wall Street is a
series of protests and demonstrations that oppose the influence that corporate greed has on American
Democracy. The protestors manipulate marches and nonviolent demonstrations to express their
dissatisfaction with the state of American Politics and economy. This relates to the political science
concepts of power, performance democracy, and protective democracy.
The Occupy Wall Street movement is a succession of protests that have no formal leader and no
formal demands. The concept behind this form of movement is that each person ... Show more

The 99 percent consists of average Americans whose homes are being foreclosed upon, who have
accrued colossal student loan debt and are most affected by economic setbacks. A definition of
power is the ownership, control, and distribution of resources . In this way, the 99 percent is
powerless in America because they lack the ability to exist independently of the one percent who has
the power over the nation s resources. The one percent has an advantage in its ability to influence the
government and public policy. The protestors point to many societal problems as evidence of this
inequality. Some of these examples are unequal access to healthcare, poverty, exorbitant student loan
debt, unemployment, and unfair practices in the housing market. These are all indicators of the
unequal distribution of resources and subsequently power that Occupy Wall Street denounces.
Performance democracy is characterized by governmental outputs in the form of laws and policies
that are a reflection of a self governing people s desire for well being (Grigsby). The protestors of
Occupy Wall Street contend that American laws and policies do not reflect the interests of the
majority of the population. The current laws and policies, according to members of the movement,
only benefit the wealthy one percent of the population. The protestors stand against the elitist nature
of capitalism that inhibits adequate performance in the form of laws and
Persuasive Letter To A Pet
As the new year approaches, you should think about resolutions not just for yourself, but you should
also think about resolutions that would benefit your pets. Here are a few new year s resolutions that
would greatly benefit your dogs and cats.

#1 Update Or Create An ID For Your Pet

If you don t have an ID for your pet, the start of a New Year is a great time time to invest in a
identification tag for you pet that has their name on it as well as your contact information.

If you pet s identification tag is out of date and contains contact information for you that is no
longer valid, get it updated. That way, if anything every happens to your pet, whomever finds them
will be able to get in touch with you.

#2 Teach Your Pet A New Trick... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
#4 Groom Your Pet On A Regular Basis

Finally, make sure that you keep up on your pet s grooming this year.

If you have a dog, sit with it and brush its coat at least once a day. This will only take a few
minutes to do every day and will result in multiple positive benefits. If you brush your dog s coat
everyday, more of their lose fur will end up on their brush instead of around your house. Brushing
your dog everyday should reduce the amount of fur around your house. Additionally, it will help
spread the oils on your dog s skin to their fur, which will help keep their fur looking and feeling
healthy. Finally, its a great way to bond with your dog.

You can also brush your cat as well on a daily basis if they will let you. Many cat s prefer to groom
themselves, but if you start young, your cat should allow you to groom it as well.

Remember grooming extends to your pet s teeth as well. At least once a week, you should brush
your dog or cat s teeth with a toothbrush and toothpaste specifically designed for pets. You can also
stay on top of their dental healthy by providing them with treats and chewy toys that are designed to
specifically combat tarter and keep their teeth
Skilled Workers During The Industrial Revolution
The industrial revolution was the introduction of new manufacturing processes between around
1760 to sometime between 1820 and 1840 as a specific end is still debated. Before the
introduction of new manufacturing processes the majority of manufacturing was done in people s
home by skilled workers such as weavers but with the advancement in heavy machinery and the
increasing use of steam power these skilled workers were no longer needed. What I will be
discussing in this essay is whether or not the exploitation of these workers was necessary in order to
improve quality of life.
The majority of skilled workers before the revolution lived in the countryside and had a nice quaint
life. An extract from The Making of the Working class notes an observer describing the living
conditions before the industrial revolution as their dwelling and small gardens clean and neat, all
the family well clad, the men with each a watch in their pocket, and the women dressed in their own
fancy, the Church crowded to excess every Sunday, every house well furnished with a clock in
elegant mahogany or fancy case. . . . Their little cottages seemed happy and contented
(Thompson,1966,p.269). This showed that before the industrial revolution the skilled workers such
as the weavers lived a happy content life, affording such luxuries ..each a watch in their pocket.. ...
