Analysis Of The Entertainer By Scott Joplin
The Entertainer by Scott Joplin
The Entertainer composed by Scott Joplin, was created because, rag time in the 1902 was extremely
popular between 1897 1917 . Moreover this music piece is resurrected for our entertainment in the
1973 Oscar winning movie The String

The famous song published by John Stark Son of St. Louis, in the summer of December 29, 1902
was an song created for the lovers of ragtime music and dancers of the two step piece that was
popular during this period. The original piece key signature is C Major but got transposed to F
major for Tenor Saxophone playing. Therefore, the time signature is 4/4 with a tempo of 77 BPM
with Mezzo Forte being the starting dynamic.

One of the many style that you could analyze this ragtime piece is by using AA, BB, A, CC and in
the second time DD. This technique was used in what many commentators would say African
Americans... use.... freedom of speech in order to enhance their identity and presence in the United
States of America , giving in those times a more inferior community, in America, a freedom a way to
communicate. Throughout the song, the tone of the piece gives off a relaxing sound but gets
tedious after a while since there is not much variation between the notes, and is quite repetitive all
through the piece. The rhythm of the song is 4/4 timing which makes the characteristic identity with
ragtime in its two step andate. Highlighted throughout the musical piece, there a waves of ostinato

A Good Man Is Hard To Find Character Analysis
Flannery O Connor s short story A Good Man is Hard to Find gives readers a front row seat to the
chilling tale of a southern family s murder at the hands of an escaped convict who calls himself
The Misfit and his associates. On their way to Florida for a vacation, the family stops to visit an
abandoned house and ends up in a car accident, where they are found by The Misfit, and
subsequently killed. While the murder is the climax of the story, O Connor writes a cast of uniquely
flawed characters that are the true focus of the narrative; each character adds a layer to the
convoluted tale.
Readers are first introduced to the family at the center of the story, headed by patriarch Bailey.
Bailey is, the audience soon learns, stubborn and self centered, above all things. His mother (the
grandmother) futilely tries to convince him to change the destination of their family vacation
from Florida to Tennessee, but he ignores her. Even as his mother tells him about The Misfit, who
is headed toward Florida, he remains bent over the orange sports section of the Journal (O Connor
137). Bailey is not a likeable character; from both his reactions to events and descriptions of his
character, one might imagine him to be a gruff, imperialistic man who believes his word to be law.
He refuses to acknowledge the grandmother s concerns by ignoring her outright (although, to be fair,
readers quickly learn that everybody in the family seems to be in the habit of brushing her off), and

Oil Vs Hemp Oil
Cannabidiol (CBD) Oil vs. Hemp Oil
In the medical marijuana, there seems to be some confusion regarding the difference between hemp
oil and CBD or cannabidiol oil. As both products gain notoriety, more research is pursued, more
doctors make recommendations, and more consumers turn to and experiment with these oils as
alternative therapeutic treatments for a varying number of diseases, the need to inform the public is
crucial. In 2009, in an attempt to respond to the misbranding of CBD products as hemp oil, the Hemp
Industries Association (HIA) asserted, Our Hemp Industries Association position regarding this
distinction calls on makers of CBD products to brand and market their products truthfully and
clearly, so as to not further the confusion ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
THC is the psychoactive chemical that is known to produce a high or stoned feeling when smoked
by users. CBD, however, is non psychoactive as a result of a lack of affinity for CB1 receptors in the
brain. The levels of THC and CBD in both hemp and cannabis vary which make the oil extracts two
very different products.
According to the HIA, Hemp oil...contain low levels of CBD, typically less than 25 parts per

up to 15% CBD (150,000 ppm)... Source http://www.thehia.org/HIAhemppressreleases/3346474
The presence of CBD in hemp is one of the main reasons that it is being marketed by some as
CBD oil, which is highly inaccurate. Hemp also naturally contains very minimal levels of THC
(between 0.3% 1.5%), which is not enough to trigger a psychoactive response when consumed. In
contrast, CBD rich oil naturally has higher levels of CBD than hemp which would require a
considerable amount to extract a useful amount of CBD. Hence, industrial hemp is not an optimal
source of CBD rich oil, despite being present in the natural growing hemp plant. However, there
have been references to CBD rich hemp oil that is extracted from hemp plants that are specifically
and uniquely bred to produce potent natural occurring CBD. If such is the case, it is imperative that
consumers to do their own research when considering using hemp oil to treat one ailment or

REVENUE MODEL Spotify uses two different revenue models. The most popular version of
Spotify is the ad based free version, which is used by over 95% of users. In this version, streamed
music is interrupted by 30 second ads at regular intervals. The other revenue model used by
Spotify is one based on subscriptions and where the customers do not have to listen to
advertisements between the songs. For this version of Spotify, called Spotify Premium
/Unlimited, the customers have to pay SEK 99/49 or about $13/6 per month. In mid March 2010
Spotify was estimated to have approximately seven million users and about 320,000 of these are
paying for Spotify Premium. The number of Premium users in January the same year was reported
as 250,000 users. According to Spotify s UK marketing director Paul Brown, 20000 users are

Foot Injury Research Paper
Three Foot Injuries That Might Sideline You When You Run Frequently

Running puts a lot of stress on your feet. You can help protect your feet by always wearing
supportive shoes when you run and doing your stretches, but problems can still arise. A foot injury
should always be treated promptly so you heal quicker. You shouldn t keep running when it causes
pain or you may do more damage. Here are thee common foot injuries that can develop when you
run frequently.

Sprained Ankle

A sprained ankle can happen when you least expect it. All it takes is landing on your foot wrong
and you can sprain an ankle. This is a painful injury that can cause a great deal of swelling in your
foot. When you sprain your ankle, apply ice as soon as you can because ice helps reduce swelling.
Elevating your foot helps with swelling too. Your podiatrist may need to fit you with a brace or
crutches so you can stay mobile and stay off your foot while it heals.

Plantar Fasciitis ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

This condition causes intense foot pain especially when you wake up in the morning and take your
first steps. When the fascia is inflamed and injured with tiny tears, it is susceptible to further injury
so you don t want to keep running with this condition unless you discuss it with your podiatrist.
You may not have much pain while running, but once you stop, you may barely be able to walk.
One treatment for this is to wear a night splint that holds your foot in a stretched position. Your
podiatrist might give you injections in your foot to help with swelling and pain. It can take a long
time for plantar fasciitis to heal, so working with a podiatrist is important when you need to get back
to running as quickly as
How Does The Appendix Affect The Human Body
The appendix is a tube shaped sac that is attached to and opening into the lower end of the large
intestine of humans and some other mammals. For human s the appendix is an average of 9
centimeters long, but can range from 2 centimeters to 20 centimeters. The diameter is between 7
centimeters to 8 centimeters. The appendix is most commonly located near the right hip bone in the
right lower quadrant of the abdomen(See Appendix A for image). The bottom portion of the
appendix is approximately two centimeters below the ileocecal valve, a sphincter muscle that
separates the small and large intestines. This sign is named after Dr. Charles McBurney; he was the
man to discover the pressing location to help assess the severity of the appendicitis... Show more

No scientist or research team has been able to discover what the appendix provides or does for
the body. Its has been an unsolved mystery for many years. A recent study done by a team of
scientists out of Midwestern University has suggested that the appendix does have a function for
the human body. The study was done by tracking a total number of 533 mammal species for an
overall of 11 million years. The team looked for specific instances in which the appendix had
disappeared or reappeared. When the organ would reappear this would show that there was an
evolutionary necessity for the appendix.
Through this research and intense study it was discovered that the appendix reappeared in mammals
between 29 and 41 times. The organ had only disappeared from lineages 12 times; this strongly
suggests that the appendix provides a function to the body that has not been discovered. The authors
of the study wrote, Thus, we can confidently reject the hypothesis that the appendix is a vestigial
structure with little adaptive value or functions among mammals. (Office of Communications,
The Depositional Environments Of The Six Facies Displayed
1.The depositional environments of the six facies displayed in Figure 1 are as follows:
Fore reef (dark blue) The mudstones indicate a low energy environment and small amounts of
skeletal fragments creating a wackestone, suggesting an infrequent presence of organisms. The
conglomerates have formed due to gravity driven flows.
Reef crest (orange) Indicated by the presence of red algae and Schleractinian corals e.g. .Acropora
(Oppen, at el, 2000), which suggests a low energy crest.
Lagoon (light blue) Ooids can precipitate in depths up to 15m (but usually within the top 5m)
indicating a shallow water environment. Green algae and foraminifera represent a lagoon floor
environment whilst the skeletal grainstones are more ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
2.The facies distribution in both layers indicate that this platform has a rimmed shelf geometry,
most likely an accretionary rimmed shelf, however there is not enough distal data to determine
how steep the fore reef slope is, see Figure 9 (Read, 1985). This platform follows a distal to proximal
trend moving from East to West. Within layer A, the facies in well A are fore reef and reef crest.
Moving westwards, the abundance of the fore reef decreases as water depth decreases, allowing
the reef and lagoonal facies to become more abundant. The lagoonal facies in well B will have a
higher concentration of skeletal grainstones than green algae as it will be closer to the lagoon
barrier than well C. Well C is dominated by lagoonal facies with a small amount of a lower intertidal
zone facies, indicating a more proximal environment. Wells D, E and F are dominated by lower
intertidal zones with small deviations into lagoonal and upper intertidal zone facies. The abundance
of anhydrite and gypsum facies increases moving westwards as the platform becomes more
proximal and may be moving into a supratidal facies.
Within layer B, the platform begins with a fore reef slope and reef crest for the first 4km, followed
by facies exhibiting a steady decrease in energy moving westwards (oolitic grain stones to
mudstones and wackestones). These layers differ as layer A has a larger reef crest and a lagoon
which extends more distally. The larger reef could lead to the larger
