A Interview With My Older Sister And Her Husband, Jodie...
Background
For this interview I spoke with my older sister and her husband, Jodie and Shaun Duke. Jodie is
thirty five and Shaun is thirty eight years old. They met while helping with a youth pioneer trek.
They have been married for almost fourteen years and have four children. The model of their
marriage is egalitarian. Both work fulltime and help with raising children and taking care of the
home. I chose to talk with them because I selfishly wanted an excuse to go to lunch with them.
Challenges
Before marriage some of the red flags that Jodie and Shaun said to look for are being too
dependent on a relationship. Each person really needs to be confident in who they are before they
enter the relationship. Another red flag would be domineering personalities. It may appear that
they always want to save you, but in always stepping in, it starts to belittle the other person s
confidence in their own abilities. When asked what some of the challenges were when they first got
married, they mentioned one thing that was very difficult for them was that they did not start out in
their own place. For the first year of their marriage they lived in the basement of Jodie s parents.
They felt a lot of their transition in their marriage didn t occur until they moved out. Another
challenge they talked about was that before you are married you think that you know a person so
well, but through marriage you find that there were a lot of things you didn t know. Things about a

The sales leader in airframe industry and one of America s leading exporters, Boeing earned $5.1
billion from Boeing Commercial Airplane and $4.1 billion from other divisions missiles, rockets,

As a consequence of such strategies, Boeing emerged as the industry s low cost producer.
In 1973, Boeing initiated a new airplane study, naming it the 7X7 ( X stood for development model)

1) Develop a chart (matrix) of 1000−1,250 words that compares and contrasts the different types of

the following:
a) How is each type of assessment scored?
b) Discuss the value and limitations of each test in determining knowledge and skill standards.
c) Analyze each instrument for reliability and validity.
2) APA format is not required, but solid academic writing is expected.

These can also be highly informal and done in a large group setting. If introducing a new topic,
start by just asking some real easy questions regarding the topic and then write them down on a
large piece of paper. This gives the students a visual aide and allows the teacher to have bases of
what information the kids know and what still needs to be addressed. Students on most occasions
tend to truly like this assessment because it gives them a chance to speak and be heard. Some
students on the other hand do not actually like it unless they are in a one on one setting with a teacher.
Oral Assessment instruments should have an acceptable level of reliability in terms of internal
consistency, test and re test reliability and alternative form reliability. Its content must also have the
necessary validity to be a valid assessment instrument, must be predictive and concurrent.

My first paragraph is about Hammurabi s Family Laws, and why they aren t just. For starters,
Doc. B stated If he destroys the law in which I have given, may the great gods of heaven and earth
inflict a curse upon his family, his land, his warriors, his subjects, and his troops. Doc. B almost
literally states the ruler had to obey his laws or he shall be inflicted a curse. Whether the ruler
liked it or not, Hammurabi says the ruler had to obey his code. Secondly, Doc. E states that in law

Firstly, in Doc. B, Hammurabi states, If he destroys the laws in which I have given, may the great
gods of heaven and earth inflict a curse upon his family, his land, his warriors, his subjects, and his
troops. It doesn t necessarily seem to be fair that your land will be cursed if you are to not obey the
laws instructed by Hammurabi.
Lastly, law 48 states that if a man were to borrow money from his creditor to plant seeds, and if
the plants wash away, the man wouldn t have to pay his creditor that year. The problem with this is
that it could very likely affect the creditor by not paying him at all, and may not be able to support his
Religious Experience Analysis
In William James s The Varieties of Religious Experience: A Study in Human Nature and Émile
Durkheim s Elementary Forms of Religious life, the societal implications of religion are examined
and analyzed. James and Durkheim possess fairly similar methodologies in their approaches to
religion. Both scholars examine religious phenomena based on the experience on the participants.
For both of them the religious experience is the point of departure for formulating a theory of religion
(Joas). James refutes medical materialism (James, 19) and argues that it is the extreme cases of
religious fervor where true religious experiences will be found and Durkheim introduces his theory
on collective effervescence (Durkheim, 226) and the experiences... Show more content on

One of Durkheim s key concepts is found in his analysis of moral life and that the most fundamental
structure for human belief was the distinction between the sacred and profane (Lynch). The sacred
things set apart and forbidden and the profane mundane, ordinary, quotidian represent Durkheim s
demonstration society s tendency to develop categories for concepts and organizations in life. A
version of the sacred and profane can also be found in James s philosophy within his discussion of
solemnity . James says the sort of happiness in the absolute and everlasting is what we find
nowhere but in religion. It is parted off from all mere animal happiness, all mere enjoyment of the
present, by that element of solemnity of which I have already made so much account. Solemnity is a
hard thing to define abstractly, but certain marks are patent enough. A solemn state of mind is never
cruel or simple it seems to contain a certain measure of its own opposite in solution (James 45) These
shared collective representations and beliefs about the existence of certain notions are what define
societies and demonstrate collective individual will (Seligman). This concept of the individual
contained within the
The American Flag Outside Of The Convention Center Essay
FACTS: After publicly burning the American flag outside of the convention center in Dallas,
Texas, where the 1984 Republican National Convention was being held, Gregory Lee Johnson, the
defendant, was convicted of desecrating a flag in violation of Texas law. Johnson burned the flag
to protest the policies of President Ronald Reagan. He was sentenced to one year in prison and was
given a $2,000 fine. A Texas court tried and convicted Johnson but he then appealed, arguing that
burning the American flag was symbolic speech and was protected by the First
Amendment. The Supreme Court agreed to hear his case.
ISSUE: Does convicting a citizen for burning the American flag violate the symbolic speech clause
protected by the First Amendment of the United States Constitution?
REASONING: Brennan: The First Amendment of the Unites States Constitution guarantees freedom
of speech and freedom of expression. The act for which the appellant was convicted was clearly
speech contemplated by the First Amendment. Recognizing that the right to differ is the centerpiece
of our First Amendment freedoms , a government cannot mandate a feeling of unity in its citizens.
Therefore, the government also cannot carve out a symbol of unity and prescribe a set of approved
messages to be associated with that symbol when it cannot mandate the status or feeling the symbol
purports to represent. In the case of Spence v. Washington in 1974, it was ruled that it was a
violation of the First
Main Types Of Expenses That Are Shown On The Typical...
What is the purpose of the income statement? Identify the major types of expenses that are shown on
the typical income statement.
The purpose of the income statement is to show the revenue accounts and expense accounts within
the organization. Typically, for accounting purposes, the revenue and expense line items are
designated into two main categories. One category is for operating revenues/expenses that are
accrued via normal business operations. The other category is for subsidiary revenues/expenses that
are accrued via secondary business operations that are not related to the main operations of the
business.
An expense is identified as the owner s equity reducing due to the costs associated with running the
business; this includes normal business operating expenses as well as secondary operating expenses.
Typical expenses shown on an income statement include the purchase of material to be sold, the
freight associated with that material, the purchase accounts in which you levied those material
charges, salaries and wages of your employees to include any employee benefits (I actually refer to
this as salary with burden on my statements), office supplies, lease/rental expenses for land, building,
equipment, etc. To be clear, everything that is an expense is covered in this statement, once all
expenses are identified and tracked, you then sub divide them into how they contribute to the
business operations. In my line of work, our income statements show operating
