Dr. Phil Pringle Analysis
In a time when leaders are portrayed as power hungry, Christian leadership is imperative for the
Church to be an influential agent within the world. Dr. Phil Pringle outlines ten qualities that a
Christian leader should possess if he aims to be a great leader. Within the context of the ten
qualities, Pringle presents a portrait of a leader that is integral to the Church s success. Therefore,
Dr. Phil Pringle begins by examining the leader s motivation. Pringle concludes that Christian
leaders are called to serve God and others. Further, a Christian leader is to live a life of self
abasement, a life of sacrifice. Pringle (2007) argues, When we move from a life of comfort to life
with discomfort, serving others even though it cost us... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Pringle illustrates the power that temptation has in a person s life. He equates it to how a moth is
drawn to the flame. Although the flame will eventually kill the moth, the moth has an uncontrolled
desire to the light of the flame. Similarly, individuals are drawn to the very thing that seeks to
destroy them. Pringle (2007) advises, Unless we make strong choices to live above the temptations,
they will destroy us (p. 179). In other words, unlike the moth, a Christian leader has the ability,
through Christ, to live above the carnal desires that seek to crush
Quinte Mri Case Notes
Background to the Case Here are some questions to help you analyze the background of the case:
State the background as you understand it What business is Quinte MRI in? What facilities does
Quinte MRI have? Who are their customers? (ANSWER: physicians) How long has Benton
Cooper been operating? How is business going? Who are you in the case? (ANSWER: David
Wright and/or Kevin Saskiw) What is your role? What is the service being performed at Quinte?
(ANSWER: completed diagnosis) How is it requested? How is it finished? What is the marketing
task ? How do you make money in this business? What is the available demand? What is the future
demand? Issue(s) Identification: Here are some questions to help you... Show more content on

What training is necessary, if any? Where to search for talent, where to advertise, etc? When
should the MR technician start? What is feasible? What does Quinte do in the interim? How to
entice talent to a small town? Can you convince them to do a night shift? How do you set up
machine sharing routines? How will you first clear the existing backlog? Case Wrap Up Lessons
learned in this case include the following: It is good to solve problems, in general, but simply fixing
a few things (e.g. better scheduling) is typically not enough. In this case, we must deal with the lack
of capacity by addressing the bottleneck. One important question: What resource should be the
bottleneck? Typically, this will be the resource that is the most expensive (e.g. automated cutting
machine), most difficult to acquire (e.g. comes in large chucks, has long lead times), most highly
trained (e.g. brain surgeons), etc. For Quinte, this is clearly the MRI machine itself. Given the MRI
should be the bottleneck; the other resources must have protective capacity. This means adding
enough of everything with cycle times longer than the MRI machine for sure an extra MR
technician. The role of non bottlenecks is to protect the ability of the bottleneck to operate at full
utilization. However, in this situation, there is also a complicating requirement for quick response
under highly variable conditions. This means that we want the MRI machine to have some
Poverty In Memphis
Memphis is notoriously known for its shocking poverty rates, which are higher than the poverty
rates in Shelby County for every category (2015 Memphis Poverty Fact Sheet), and that is not a
good thing. Memphis is also known for its high unemployment rates and its low availability of a
skilled workforce (Does MemphisHave a Fighting Chance), and that is not great, either. Finally, it is
well known that Memphis has one of the highest crime rates in the country (Memphis TN: Crime
Data and Crime Rates), and that just takes the cake. While it is common to focus on these negative
aspects about Memphis, it is not a complete description of this multifaceted city. It is my position
that there are many positive aspects to Memphis that are overlooked... Show more content on

We are home to the University of Memphis, a public research university, which has enrolled more
than 24,000 students. We are also home to Rhodes College, a private liberal arts college that
currently enrolls over 2,000 students. Memphis is also the most vigorous in the country when it
comes to working towards a better education. In 2005, the Tennessee General Assembly passed the
Voluntary Pre K (VPK) for Tennessee Act, which resulted in a bigger investment towards early
childhood education. In 2009, the Teacher Effectiveness Initiative (TEI) promised to raise money for
education and ensure an effective teacher was put in every class room. In 2013, Tennessee was
named the fastest improving state in the nation per the National Assessment of Educational Progress
scores (America s Most Ambitious Education Reforms). Memphis has been and still is working
strenuously towards a better education system every day.
Finally, it has already been said but bears repeating: Memphis is where Graceland is. It is the final
resting place of The King. It is the single most important place in the entire world. That alone makes
Memphis not only one of the greatest American cities, but one of the greatest cities in the world.
Anyone who disagrees hates not only rock and roll and barbeque, but everything that makes America
Marine Geology And Marine Chemistry
1. One of the paramount topics we have covered in this course is oceanography (no surprises there).
Rather than thinking of oceanography as just the study of the ocean, I have always viewed
oceanography as the study of marine biology, marine chemistry, marine geology and marine physics.
Before diving into any sort of detail, one can see (from the above) that oceanographyincorporates
four fundamental sciences into one topic; therefore, when asked to list three ways in which marine
geology and marine chemistry interrelate, the possibilities are endless. Because we are to list just
three examples, I am going to focus my answer on the Earth s composition/layers. The first way
these two fields interrelate is though convection currents (mantle). Density and temperature are two
topics central to chemistry. Because density and temperature, along with depth, play a critical role
in plate movement (geology), the plate tectonic theory is one example. The second way is through
radioactive decay. Specifically, we use radioactive dating (e.g., isotope dating and half lives) to
determine the exact age of a specific geological structures. The third way these two fields interrelate
is in determining the composition of the Earth s inner core. I saved this example for last because it
shows how marine physics can also be interrelated in marine chemistry and marine geology. We
[scientific community] have a sound understanding of the Earth s composition because of mass,
density and temperature
Apaches Research Project Essay
200 Apaches massacred, 100 more murdered, and 148 laying dead at Chihuahua Mexico, was
something the Chiricahua Apache tribe, and many other tribes, lived through on a regular basis
(Hoxie 1). All of the previously mentioned, in addition to wars and being parted from their own
land, were some of the consequences due to a country seeking to expand and conquer new
territory, regardless of what or who they had to eliminate in order to accomplish this goal.
However, if Americans would have taken a more peaceful path in order to conquer the land of the
Natives, if there would have been respect and honesty, and the many treaties made would have been
honored, then these massacres would have been prevented and it would have been a dramatically...

The outcome of Chief Cochise s speech was excellent while he was alive. The Chief honored and
respected his word and the compromise made with the Americans. As a result of his admirable
achievement, there was peace between the Chiricahua Apaches and Americans until the Chief died in
1874 (Watts 48).
Many events in the life of Chief Cochise stimulated and influenced the content and purpose of his
speech. Beginning at his birth in 1805 in southern Arizona, the Apache had beat the Spanish
colonizers (as he mentions in the speech) making them a very strong tribe (Watts 46). Born to the
Chiricahua Apache tribe, Cochise soon became the main leader of the tribe ( Cochise 1). The
now Chief Cochise was responsible and in charge of many of the consequences and decisions
made in his tribe. Among these decisions was whether to keep peace or war with other people
and/or tribes. Throughout his life, Cochise was the leader of many wars against new settlers
pursuing to take his land. His idea to continue war was altered after witnessing the deaths of his
people in these wars. Cochise was falsely accused of kidnapping a boy and was captured by an
American colonel;
Kathleen Blanco Speech Analysis
To keep things simple, people simply want to be heard, and they will do anything in order for their
audience to listen. There are various ways in which the speaker would gain the right to be heard.
Former Governor of Louisiana, Kathleen Blanco, uses various forms to obtain attention from her
audience as she addresses the LouisianaLegislator on Hurricane Katrinawhere she not only discusses
the effects of the hurricane but also acknowledges the people who have helped out so far. Blanco
does an exceptional job gaining attention through her audience through pathos, or emotions. She
gets to people s emotion side by expressing heartbreak, loss, devastation, and above all; hope.
Many people, if not all, have experienced at least one of these emotions at some point in there
lives, which helps them relate to Blanco s speech. Blanco introduces the subject of loss,
devastation and heartbreak by stating ...our thoughts are the families who were literally ripped
apart by the storm.... I have met brothers separated from sisters, mothers and fathers searching for
children, and children who have seen things no child should have to witness... my heart goes out
to every family (Blanco ..). Nobody should have to go through that in their lives, no matter your
age or gender. Too many people have experienced some form of loss, devastation or heartbreak
that has changed them. Above all, she introduces what all people want to hear; hope, by stating
...we will transform despair into hope and show the world the true meaning of determination
(Blanco ..). After the massive devastation that happened to their town, hope is all people are
thinking about; they want to forget all the negative events and make sure everything goes back to
normal. All things aside, the people of Louisiana want to show the world that they can come back
after such a horrible disaster, and their Governor is all on board in helping support that cause. In
conclusion, Blanco is able to connect with her audience through people s emotions and by being a
part of the people of Louisiana s side; she is willing to stand with them and help by doing as much
as she can. Another way Blanco gets ahold of her audience s attention is through ethos, or credibility.
She
Bronx High School Of Science
Stokely Carmichael Kwame Toure, better known as Stokely Carmichael, was one of the most
prominent civil rights figures in our history. Born in Trinidad, he became a citizen at the age of
13. Stokely and his family moved to an Italian and Jewish neighborhood where he was one of the
few African Americans. He attended one of the most prestigious high schools, Bronx High School
of Science where he remained one of the few faces of color among his white elite counterparts.
Carmichael became very popular around his classmates, attending parties, dating white women, and
playing sports. While Stokely was aware of the racial tensions that ensued, he never realized until
later in life how differently he was perceived from his white counterparts. One evening upon
graduating high school, Stokely finally felt his calling to join the movement. Carmichael was
watching a television newscast that showed young African Americans protesting the racial
injustices. When I first heard about the Negroes sitting in at lunch counters I thought they were a
bunch of publicity hounds. He watched as these people were knocked off stools, ketchup thrown in
their hair, and sugar thrown in their eyes. After this he decided to join the Congress of Racial
Equality. The Congress of Racial Equality, otherwise known as CORE, was a leading civil rights
activist groups. In the early 1960s CORE started many initiatives like Freedom Rides, Freedom
Summer, and the March on Washington. CORE is where
The Five most Important Events in U.S History
Five Most Important Events in U.S. History
To me, the most important events that left their mark on America were; Osama Bin Laden s death,
the American Revolution, September 11, 2001, Apollo 11, and Lincoln s assassination. I am going
to be arguing the reason why I believe all of these events to be the most significant, and important in
the United States.
Hitler and Laden were good friends throughout all of these attacks and damage caused. Laden had
plenty of supporters, but still nobody could take all of his serious, awful acts, seriously. People
say and have said that because of his death, we are now free at last. Bin Laden was such a terrible
person because of all of the attacks, deaths, and damage he caused. Laden would go out of his way
to get at the Americans by hijacking planes, destroying major land marks, and killing lots of people.
Americans now feel safe because of his death.
