Summary Of Letter From Birmingham Jail
In the Political essay Letter from Birmingham Jail, Martin Luther King Jr. explains his reasoning
behind coming to Alabama with members of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference.
Furthermore, he justifies taking direct action instead of negotiating with local authorities,
confronting the subject of segregation immediately rather than waiting for a more convenient
moment, and his belief that the state of mind of churches and the white majority hold distorted
values. From a cell located inside of the Birmingham city jail, King justifies his presence in
Birmingham by informing the clergymen of the city that he is there with the Southern Christian
Leadership Conference to aide the Alabama Movement of Human Rights. Invited by the Alabama
Copyright Law in Canada Essay
Canada s copyright law is one of our hardest laws to enforce. The reason the police have so much
trouble enforcing this law, is due to technology. This law is very easy to break, and once broken,
it is very hard to track down violators. So although some form of a copyright law is needed, the
one we have has, too many holes to be effective. There are three main ways in which the copyright
lawis broken in everyday life. They is audio/video tape copying, plagiarism, and software piracy.

The first, and most commonly violated aspect of the copyright law, is the copying of audio tapes for
oneself and friends. Thanks to the invention of dual cassette stereos, this has become very easy. You
simply take an original or even another copy of a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Very often a student when doing a research paper will quot;accidently quot; forget to footnote his
work. By quot;forgetting quot; to give the author credit, the student has claimed the work as his
own. Another reason students may copy someone else s work is to sound more sophisticated
hoping that if they use someone elses words it will sound better than their own. Generally, this
provides an easy way for a teacher or the police to catch them.

Teachers also plagiarize rather frequently. Very often a teacher will photocopy several pages from
a book, in order to save the students the expense of having to buy the book for themselves. While
this is a noble act by the teacher, in most cases, this is illegal. Unless the author of the book, gave
consent for his/her work to be freely distributed, teachers can t copy it any more than students or
anyone else can.

The third category of piracy is Software Pirating. There are several forms which this can take.
The most common form is very similar to audio/video cassettes. It is when someone copies a
game or program from his/her computer to someone elses. As long as the two people have the
same type of computer, (they both have apples or IBM s) this is a very simple process, so long as
the programmer didn t put a bug into the program (a precaution they take against people copying
their work).

Another form of Computer Piracy is a quot;cracker quot;. A cracker is someone

The I Set Out On A Road Trip
racy and I set out on a road trip to Santa Barbara to do a little site seeing and have some lunch.
Having left late, we were met by huge crowds and no parking. Wanting to enjoy some time away
from home, we decided to continue up the coast and go to Solvang. As we approached Solvang,
we saw the sign for Sunstone Winery. Having seen pictures and hearing about their cave, it didn t
take much to convince us to stop and see what they had to offer. Driving up and walking through a
vine covered archway, you are greeted by a French style Courtyards and a picnic ground where
people are sitting around enjoying the outdoors with a glass of wine. To the right of the vine covered
archway is a beautiful tasting room also reflecting the French motif. Across the courtyard are two
large wooden doors on a stone masonry structure that is built into the side of the hill. This is the
location of their barrel aging cave and is frequently used for special events by club members.
Walking into the tasting room we were warmly greeted by the staff of Sunstone. As we approached
the bar, Jonathan Flores introduced himself and asked if we would like to taste their wines. Who
could refuse. Sunstone has 2 different tasting flights from which to select. They have the Classic
List and the Reserve List to choose from. Sunstone s primary emphasis is on Rhone and Bordeaux
with red varietals being their primary focus but they do have a very nice selection of white wines.

To What Extent Do Salt, Bases, Sugar, And Water Affect...
Research Question:
How will salt, acids, bases, sugar, and water affect yeast fermentation.

Rationale:
This project is about yeast fermentation in different environments. Yeasts are microscopic
organisms that are a branch of fungus. Yeasts are required to obtain food from their surroundings.
They also feed off of sugar and starches. Fermentation is a metabolic process that converts sugars to
acids, gases, and or alcohol. In the case of this experiment, the yeast will turn the sugars into carbon
dioxide (gases). This project is important scientifically because it will provide society information
about which environment s yeasts should be put in to induce the highest amount of fermentation. In
a baker s case, this would be important because ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Review Of Isabel Wilkerson s The Warmth Of Other Suns
From the book The Warmth of Other Suns, author Isabel Wilkerson ... For all its upheaval, the Civil
War had left most blacks in the South no better off economically than they had been before.
Sharecropping, slavery s replacement, kept them in debt and still bound to whatever plantation they
worked. But one thing had changed. The federal government had taken over the affairs of the South,
during a period known as Reconstruction, and the newly freed men were able to exercise rights
previously denied them. They could vote, marry, or go to school...even college set up by northern
philanthropists, open businesses, and run for office under the protection of northern troops.
According to the Internet site American Reconstruction, People and Politics after the Civil ... Show

The first African American Sheriff in Jefferson County was Merriman Howard; he was a
Republican (Party of Lincoln). Our family s connection to the Howard family is that his nephew
Radford Howard married Sarah Lillian Jackson, great granddaughter of Delaney and Easter. In an
article written in 1937 Mrs. Effie Harrison Snyder gave her description of the time post Civil War:
Mr. Harrison (papa) was the owner of many slaves and all were good and faithful servants. Only
one, Merriman Howard, who became Republican Sheriff of Jefferson County ever gave trouble.
He was doing well until influenced by three Republicans who nearly caused his destruction. They
made Merriman their tool, but Judge Geo. W. Shackleford, Mr. Dick Truly, Sr and Mr. Harrison
(papa) went to his assistance and saved his life. He went to Washington City (Washington D.C.)
and until his death was to Mama and Papa most faithful and respectful. Merriman had been papa s
slave. His mother was left free and she herself bought Merriman free for a small sum before the
Civil War. The article was written just before she
The Enlightenment By Sor Juana Dela Cruz
The age of the Enlightenment was a period of time where reason and logic ruled the minds of
people. There was a scientific awakening in which people relied on hard evidence and facts more
than feelings and emotions. It was a way of thinking outside of what the church says and questioning
religion with counteracting a more evidential belief. The enlightenment age began in the 1700s and
continued into the early 1800s. It started in England and bounced into France, Germany, and other
parts of Europe. The ideas of the enlightenment were to focus on reason, willingness to question
authority and tradition, scepticism, dependence upon reason and experience, equality of all people
and the scientific method. The common people were focused on leaving... Show more content on

Throughout the course of history, there has been many struggles in the rights women have and
what they can take part in. During the enlightenment age, women were only used to be barefoot
in the kitchen, making food and taking care of the home. The Enlightenment was a good
opportunity for women to change the status quo. Sor Juana Dela Cruz, a brilliant scholar from
that time period, was a self taught women who used the enlightenment to her advantage. She had
two choices, either be a wife at home, taking care of the house or be a nun. If she was to choose
nun, she would be able to continue gaining knowledge and studying so that is what she did. Who
has forbidden women to engage in private and individual studies? Have they not a rational soul
as men do?...I have this inclination to study and if it is evil I am not the one who formed me thus
I was born with it and with it I shall die , said Sor Juana De La Cruz. I believe she is trying to
convey that women s minds can be just as sharp as men and some even brighter than men. If we
don t use women in the arts of education, we are only taking away from our own society. The time
period that God has placed me in has a very different outlook on freedom that later eras. I am
blessed to say that I can sit in the same room as men and learn the same facts as well as have the
same opportunities, in which i do not take granted
Descartes Dualism Argument
Descartes dualism argument poses issues for some.
Its common knowledge that, as a matter of a law in science, energy/matter cannot be created nor
destroyed, but can transform from one form to another. That said, if the mind and body only have a
causal relationship, not an interactive one, how does one argue the change in energy levels that s
seen through brain scans? Dualists may argue this as a new energy created by this causal
relationship, but this violates the energy matter law of science. Also, dualism argues that the mind
and body are two separate part. If two pieces don t make a whole, and are entirely separate, then they
have no common/shareable properties, and they don t interact whatsoever. That said, the mind and
body do interact. Consider when one consciously decides to move their arm, or strike a yoga pose it
s a thought/idea created by the mind, which causes the physical action through their interactive
relationship.
Among the issues with his belief of the mind and body plus how the operate is there connection.
Descartes only connection of the two in the Pineal gland. This would mean everything would have to
go through gland. Although very important in hormone distribution today the world has decided that
the brain is in charge. It is also known that not everything goes through the brain. Organs , the spine,

One cannot, for example, study the psychological aspect of a medical diagnosis without considering
how they affect one another. One wouldn t be adhering to the moral responsibility of others that

Eyewitness Case Study
There three memory process involves encoding which is when information is converted for storage
which allows the information to be kept in memory for later use and also we have retrieval when
information is recovered from memory into conscious awareness.

November 28, 1976, Randal Dale was an American former prison inmate, who was wrongfully
convicted of the death of a Texas police officer Robert W. Wood. He was then sentenced to death.
His conviction was overturned in 1989.The crime started when Adam was walking along the Dallas
street after his car had run out of gasoline. Harris, a long time friend, was driving a stolen car. Harris
offered Adam a ride, and the two of them spend the afternoon smoking marijuana, pawning various
of items and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Both of the eyewitnesses went through a different phase of cognition for example, Officer Teresa
was going to through a process of interference because during the even the suspect (Harry) had a
gun, so officer Teresa attention was drawn to the weapon that was used and away from the other
details that were in the event this is another problem with encoding. Memory decay did influence the
reliability of eyewitness news, some of the eyewitness memory did fade away when the police
officer asked their question and taken for an interview, so the problem that occur what their
retrieval which is when witness cannot remember information because they lack fail to use the
light cues to retrieve what is stored in their memory and as well the memory strength wears away.
Memory interference did occur; Matthew Randal was one of the eyewitness he testified that he
had driven by the scene before the murder and he only saw Adam in the car this process of memory
interference is called retroactive interference the reason why he went through that process is
because he saw Adam in the car which was acquired information, but when he was taking for an
interview it was hard for him to recall the previously information because of the reconstructive
distortions which happen when a person recalls past experiences they can reconstruct them, filling in
missing details with new information causing them to misremember. Robert and Emily Miller, there
were driving together in the same car, and they claimed that they saw only one person in the car
which was Adam. There were taken for interviewing by the federal state of Texas, Emily was going
through a process of repression, unconsciously preventing the memory of the event entering the
conscious awareness because the event was too distressing and unpleasant to remember. State and
context dependent cues did have a good impact by helping
The War Of The World War
Weapons have always been a critical factor in warfare, but in the 20th century, they became even
more important and destructive, such that the world started to create new and unimaginable
weapons, like war tanks. The idea of protecting the soldiers as well as the necessity to have
vehicles that can do more damage to the enemies in warfare and the development of industrial
technologies made war tanks possible. They became very important in warfare, especially during
the Second World War and they are still important in modern warfare. They became the world
warfare solution to keep move forward while being under fire. The British first employed tanks in
September 1916 during the Battle of the Somme, where they tried to end the bloody stalemate of
trench warfare on the Western Front. The result was negative because they didn´t have sufficient
training in combined arms operations and also because the tanks were very heavy and they
consumed a lot of fuel. Mainly for these reasons, war tanks did not a critical factor in the First
World War. In the Second World War, the cavalry became obsolete and was replaced with tanks.
They performed the same tasks, such as breaking the front lines, surround the enemy and attacking
from the rear, but with more devastating results. Tanks became one of the most important weapons
in combat, especially for the Germans during their German blitzkrieg (lightning war), where tanks
advanced quickly, surprised the enemy and proceeded to the next battle,
