Swiss Economy Essay
The Swiss economy picked its momentum in 2013, when it began to benefit from the monetary and
fiscal policies adopted by the government in 2011 and 2012 (Leal 307). In 2013, inflation was still a
problem in the country and the country went through the year without any international exchange
market intervention, but its currency remained stable as the Swiss National Bank had imposed to
curb deflationary pressure (Leal 307). During the year, the country, managed to contain mortgage
imbalances, which built through a slower rate. The growth in Swiss economy grew in 2013 due to
increased domestic demand. In 2013, the national output grew by 2.0% indicating a 1% increase
from the previous year. Wage increase in 2013, ensured that private demand... Show more content on

In 2014, the country continued with its growth rate. During 2014, the second quarter proved to a
bad economic period as the economy declined marginally, but it later improve in the 3 rd quarter
(Leal 307). Before the year began, the federal government forecast a 1.8% growth in the economy,
implying that the nation would outdo some bigger global economies in the international grid.
However, it is important to know that the federal has not released any substantial economic
information for the year 2015, but the economic environment has not changed much from 2014, as
the exchange rate for domestic currency remains stable, with expectations in GDP growth in 2016
(Leal 307). Nonetheless, the country has to move with speed to strengthen the economy during
the year following the weakening strength of the franc against leading currencies such as the
Euro. In the fourth quarter of 2014, the Swiss economy registered a 0.6% increase in the gross
domestic product from the figure estimated in the preceding quarter (Leal 310). As the came
closer to the end, the country registered 2.0% increase in its rate of growth compared to 1.9%
growth rate estimated in 2013 (Leal 310). During 2014, record also indicated that the GDP deflator
did not change and remained at 0.0%. Furthermore, the GDP had risen by 3.45% in 2013 in relation
to 2012 (Leal 310). On the other hand,
The Circadian Rhythms
Each day, when the sun rises and sets, mammals and plants alike conform together with a celestial
rhythm that instructs the activities of the day. The human body, along with nearly all other
mammals, endogenously oscillates on a rhythm that coincides with these daily activities. However,
when mammals are placed in an environment void of nearly all outside influences, also known as
zeitgebers, these rhythms continue to run at specified intervals. Thus, the endogenous rhythm must
be governed by an internal master clock. This master clock has been discovered to be the
suprachiasmatic nuclei which are located in the anterior portion of the hypothalamus. Circadian
rhythms are endogenous rhythms that mammals and plants exhibit. The term circadian was
established in the 1950 s and is derived from the Latin prefix circa which means approximately,
and dies which means day. (2) Nearly all living things have circadian rhythms that approximate to a
24 hour cycle; however there are some differences in lengths varying from species to species. (1)
Numerous physiological processes are governed by the circadian rhythm, and by effect nearly every
process in the body can be contributed to a rhythm of circadian fashion. The master clock of the
circadian rhythm for biological processes is the suprachiasmatic nuclei, or SCN. (1)(2) The SCN is
located in the anterior portion of the hypothalamus, posterior to and slightly inferior to the frontal
lobe of the brain. The SCN is believed
Sacajawea Research Paper
Heather Martin
Sacajawea
Sacajawea is a well known American Indian woman. Her expedition with explorers Lewis and Clark
was extraordinary. She was born in Tendoy, Idaho around 1788. She was a member of the Lemhi
Shoshone tribe. At this time, the American territory ended at the Mississippi River. One year after
the Louisiana Purchase, President Thomas Jefferson sent Lewis and Clark on an expedition that left
from St. Louis, Missouri, traveling through the US Northwest, to the Pacific Ocean (History).
Children in the Shoshone tribe were valued and seen as important members of the tribe. The
children were educated and thought to become great individuals on day. In 1800, Sacajawea
along with other Shoshone women were kidnapped by the Hidatsa tribe. Sacajawea and the other
women were hauled from the Shoshone tribe in present day Idaho to the Hidatsa tribe in present
day North Dakota. It was when she reached the Hidatsa village when Sacajawea was sold to a fur
trader named Toussaint Charbonneau as a slave. It wasn t until later when Sacajawea became
Charbonneau s second wife. Marriage was sacred to the Shoshone people, so despite the abuse
Sacajawea stayed with Charbonneau. On February 11, 1805 Sacajawea gave birth to their son, Jean
Baptiste Charbonneau. When Sacajawea was pregnant with Jean Baptiste, Lewis and Clark had just

Sacajawea and Charbonneau proved to be great assets to Lewis and Clark seeing as they could
translate from Shoshone to Hidatsa and from Hidatsa to French. Sacajawea was the only woman
on the journey to the Pacific Ocean. She also dove into the water when their boat capsized, and
saved some papers and tools that they needed to complete the journey. Along with translating,
Sacajawea also helped feed and pick berries for the men. While doing all of this, she carried her

Artificial Intelligence ( Unmanned Aerial Vehicle ) Essay
Within the construction industry, Artificial Intelligence (AI) is beginning to take jobsites by
storm. If someone were to walk onto a jobsite today, someone in that location would be using AI.
Current uses of AI today span from mobile technology that supervision uses to man a jobsite to an
actual robot pouring concrete or welding a pipe. With the technology improvements being made
daily, there will be a day few people will consist of the workforce on the job, and the rest will be
some sort of robotics. Among the Artificial Intelligencebeing used or that will be the future are:
Drones/UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle), SAM (Semi Automated Mason), robotic welding,
Autonomous TMA (Truck Mounted Attenuator) Truck, and Contour Crafting.
Drones/UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) A lot of people may think of drones, also known as
UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle), as the toys children play with in the yard after opening their
Christmas gifts, but for the construction industry, it means so much more. Drones are capable of a
multitude of things, and for business owner s and clients, the most important thing is getting the
job done sooner with reduced costs. Previously, layouts of jobsites took weeks. The land had to
be surveyed to verify if the soil was appropriate and whether it needed to be graded or not. Areas had
to be marked off where each trade would store their material. Physical surveying of the area with
tripods had to be done, as well, for the specific layout and placement of the
Interpreting The American Dream
The American Dream means many different things to many different people. Immigrants might
think of just freedom as The American Dream . Then there are people that live in America that just
think they re oppressed and think of not being oppressed , religious freedom/general rights. I could
go on for hours about the possibilities of the American Dream.
Then, there are the people that live in America and think the American dream as making
money, living in a mansion with fancy cars, Another view of the American dream is to find your
place in life or to strive for personal goals. There are a lot of ways of interpreting the
American dream. The American dream is interpreted as something better for a person who is coming

Now we begin inspecting and disassembling the engine, first you get a shop manual for your
vehicle. This is essential to a rebuild of an engine, Even with a older vehicle, they can be found
on ebay or in your closest mechanic shop. The manual will be very helpful to the rebuild, it will
show you the specs and instructions on how your engine should look and be built. It can tell you
how much your bolts can be torqued to. Torquing your bolts keeps them from stripping or
breaking when your engine is running hard. Now inspect your engine, perform a visual diagnosis
of all the hardware, pulleys and also check for cracks on any part of your engine it may save you
from further spending. Also check casting numbers on the engine to make sure the engine you are
working on is the actual engine you re working on. If you have a manual car check your clutch so

My Passion For Medical Sciences
He ran down the hallway towards me as I bent over, he clinched his arms tightly around me and
whispered softly, Thank you for being my friend . Those simple yet influential words still echo in
my head. Adam, was brought to a clinic that I volunteered at for autistic spectrum disorder and
selective mutism. I followed Adam through his appointments and took extra time getting to know
him and his family. I started looking forward to seeing Adam at every appointment. All it took was
a 10 year old to show me the power of human connection. His words coupled with my own
diagnosis of Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy with Ventricular bigeminy gave me the platform that
would give rise to my passion for medical sciences. My passion would solidify with the support of
my grandfather, a physician, who encouraged me to read and understand my condition. My
enthusiasm for medicinewas cultivated further as I read about disease processes and with the help of
my father, a hospice nurse at the time, whom strengthened my interest further in medicine.
Therefore, I embarked on a long winding path that would lead to meeting people from different
walks of life with a collective aim to better human health, from Chicago to the West Indies. Initially, I
started volunteering in clinics and a post anesthesia unit at Swedish Hospital. This provided a good
base for understanding the equally important roles of the healthcare team. Shadowing physicians and
day to day interactions with nurses contributed to the
Lydia s Attitude And Work Performance
Lydia s attitude and work performance, prior to her promotion, was positive, bright, and
extraordinary. Lydia was very good at her job as a secretary, and she enjoyed going to work every
day, as well as, going above and beyond her job expectations. Once Lydia got promoted to her new
job, her work performance took a turn for the worse, and her motivation also declined. Lydia s
motivation and behavior revolve around the three dimensional theory of attribution. As a secretary,
Lydia was excellent, and she attributed her success, her positive behavior, and her motivation to
influence how she would do in her new upcoming position, despite her lack of experience beyond
the duties of a secretary. There are three main characteristics of attributions that can have a lasting
effect on future motivation: stability, locus of control, and controllability. Lydia was successful,
and showed drive as a secretary, and that was something that Mr. Norman saw in future
performances from her. As Lydia began her new duties, her lack of work experience began to show
signs of poor performances almost immediately. This could have potentially lead Lydia to believe
that this was going to be permanent results in future performances moving forward (stability). The
effect of an internal factor could have been the starting point of poor performance. The brief training
that was supposed to orient her to her new responsibilities was simply not enough to help her in her
new position. Poor training could

The Day Of Everyday Life
Throughout the walk of everyday life, we may find ourselves within the personal lives of others,
giving us the option to either turn the other way and pay no attention, or to observe, and learn
something about those individuals lives. The observation of others can not only bring a whole new
understanding to the many forms of communication, but it can also provide a new perspective into
something we have never taken the time to explore and analyze. One can learn a multitude of
new things by observing family, friends, or even just strangers. This past week, I was in the car
with two of my friends on our way to a meeting together when I began to observe their
conversation. Their names are Jenni and Carlie, and we have just recently all become very close
friends. While in the car, the topic of roommates came up, and while I really like both of my
roommates, Carlie and Jenni did not feel the same about theirs. They began to discuss in depth
details about their roommates laziness and uncleanliness. Carlie also added in that her roommate
was trying to steal all of her friends, and no longer included her in anything. Their roommates
inability to put away dishes and clean up spills pinned them with the terms lazy and irresponsible.
While Carlie and Jenni seemed to have no trouble at all finding their roommates flaws, they never
once within the conversation mentioned something that they could possibly improve upon in order
to mend the relationship. Many concepts within

Intelligence Correlations Between Brothers Decrease With Increasing Age Difference
Topic Background/Introduction
In this article, the researchers is the study how the age difference between brothers affect the
correlation between their intelligence test scores. They describe how there has not been much
research on the effect of age difference between siblings (specifically brothers) on intelligence. There
have been many other studies that have shown that while both genes and differences in one s
environment may create differences between people, familial similarities are caused mostly by
shared genes (SSS. Studies using participants that were adopted show that intelligences seems to
vary with age. For instance, the correlation between the intelligence test scores of young children
who are not related is much higher than that of the same children during adolescence. Other studies,
using twins, suggest that shared environmental effects are present in childhood and early adulthood,
but are absent in late adulthood. The researchers mention that studying adopted children, who are
usually brought into affluent and well functioning? Homes, show that they are not representative of
the entire population. There are many more factors, when studying adopted siblings, and identical
/fraternal twins that can lead to an overestimation or underestimation of the effects of either the
shared environment or familial genetics. The researchers suggest that new data in needed to solve

Drop the Comparisons
This is a huge one and should be considered from day one. If you re taking a beginning yoga class
there is a big possibility you ll inadvertently end up comparing yourself to others in your class.

Some common thoughts that might make their way into your mind...Is her downward dog better
than mine? Why can t I touch my feet like the person next to me? Am I even doing this right?!?

Yoga is a deeply personal practice and comparing yourself to others offers no benefit whatsoever.
Remember that you are exactly where you need to be and everything you re doing on your mat is

Romeo And Juliet Comparison Essay
William Shakespeare s famous Romeo and Juliet was reinvented in 1996 as Romeo + Juliet and was
directed by Baz Luhrmann. Luhrmann s interpretation has turned Shakespeare s traditional tale of a
tragic love story into a modern and urbanised 20th century version. Luhrmann s adaptation keeps the
classic story of Romeo and Juliet true. This is seen by still having the constant feud between the
Montague and Capulet family and the countless tragedies, yet Luhrmann adds a 20th century twist
by using guns instead of swords and replacing horses with cars. The main characters remain as
Romeo and Juliet, although there is a greater focus on them than their parents. The events take place
in Verona, however, it is at Verona Beach in Florida, not Italy. All of Luhrmann s alterations to the
original have been done... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the text the script is very lengthy and descriptive. Luhrmann has strategically pulled out the
most powerful and key lines to emphasise the desperation for escape Juliet is looking for. In the
text Juliet comes across as calm, defeated and longing for help, although in the movie she is
violent and extremely snappy. This is seen when she puts a gun to her heads and screams to Friar,
I LONG TO DIE! Juliet is depicted as stuck up and sassy in the text however is obedient at first
and somewhat aggressive as the scene progresses throughout the movie. Baz Luhrmann uses soft,
creepy yet holy music throughout the scene and when Juliet raises the gun the music gets louder
and reaches its climax. Juliet is dressed in dark colours, portraying how depressed she is feeling.
This shows contrast as she is usually dressed in white, representing her purity. In Baz Luhrmann s
interpretation he stays true to Shakespeare s dialogue and succeeds in adding appropriate music,
staging and body
Joan Didion s Barrio Boy
Joan Didion s article Notes From A Native Daughter and Ernesto Galarza s piece Barrio Boy both
talk a lot about how life was like in Sacramento while they were growing up. In Ernesto Galarza s
article, he writes about living in lower Sacramento and Didion s essay, talks about life in a different
area of Sacramento, California. Ernesto Galarza s Sacramento is filled with a lot of Mexicans and
other Latin American people living in a particular area of the city. Barrio Boy s Sacramento took
place in around the 1910s 1920s which was the early 20th century. Joan Didion s Sacramento was
at a later time, which was 1940s 1950s and was also a time when World War II took place. Since

Gringo is a term Hispanics use to describe U.S citizens in the United States. The police officers,
bartenders, and other people working in different occupations were almost all gringos. As poor
refugees, the first concern was to find a place to sleep, then to eat and find work (Galarza 267).
Many of the Latin American immigrants who were fleeing their home country to go live in
Sacramento, California were poor and did not have a lot of money to make a living. For them to
make a living, they needed to find jobs, and that was one of their goals so they can have a
significant life in Sacramento, California.
In Joan Didion s book titled Slouching Towards Bethlehem, it has a story inside of the book
named Notes From A Native Daughter. This story is mostly about living in Sacramento,
California and notably on what it is like living and being born and raised in a city like
Sacramento, California. Notes From A Native Daughter takes place in the era of the 1950s which
is more current then Ernesto Galarza s article, Barrio Boy. At one point in this story, Joan Didion
mentions that Sacramento Is California (Didion 172). As Didion refers to Sacramento, California
in this way, she relates to the history of the city of Sacramento, California. For example, Didion
says in her text, But it is characteristic of Californians to speak grandly of the past as if it had
simultaneously begun, tabula rasa, and reached a happy ending on the day the wagons started west
