Rhetorical Analysis
The 1980 s were an interesting time for American television. Viewership was steadily increasing,
and the amount of family time spent in front of the television screen was steadily declining. This
was mainly due to the new format of television, shows were no longer for all viewers, but instead
had target audiences; MTV was actually starting to show music videos, reality television was a new
a popular form of television, and Saturday morning cartoons were a part of every child s weekly
routine. Enter Post s Alpha Bits cereal commercial, circa 1990. An animated magical adventure that
captures the love and attention of both children, and their parents; while completely negating to ...

many reasons. One main reason is, the message isn t meant for young viewers, or else it would ve
been audible. If the viewers are too young, then the idea of healthy cereal may not be the best selling
point. Another reason the messages is silently displayed on the screen, is if there isn t too much
attention drawn to that message, it won t bring about too much discussion; because they never
mention which essential vitamins and minerals the children are
Financial Aid Narrative
It was normal day like any another when I received my financial aid package from college. I
remember the excitement that came with being one step further on the path to my life. And just as
clearly, I can remember the sinking feeling I got in my stomach when I looked at my financial aid
package. This was the first time in my life I had thought I might not go to college. After thought
about education, experience, and money, I came to that college is worth the debt that may be
incurred. Education is the main goal of college. I had always considered myself a person
dedicated to the pursuit of more knowledge and a better education. My mother, being a teacher,
had instilled these values in me. When I was in elementary, I tested into a gifted center and from
there I tested into selective enrollment college prep. The obvious next step seemed to be college.
Looking the scholarship given to me, it just didn t seem to add up. I had scored a 32 on the ACT
but my scholarship was barely covering half of my expenses. But I knew if a just gave up, the
meant giving up on everything that I believe in. By pursing college I was able to be challenged,
pursue subjects which interested me and discover new pathways that I was interested such as
African American studies. Without taking that chance, I may have never received that knowledge....

Being 18 at the time, I had so much more to experience. While I loved Chicago to death, I want to
experience something new and, with that in mind, I had to go. While I was at college I was able
to experience what it is like to live on my own. I was also able to build lifelong relationships with
people. Being around people who were different than me also opened me up to new ways of
thinking. Environment does affect experience and in order for me to grow as a person I think I
need to be put in a new environment. These experiences are something I could not something I could
put a price on but it still came with

NETWORK FILE SYSTEM! !
Network File System was designed so that users could transparently and remotely access files on
the network in the same way as if the file was on the local disk. It can be easily ported to various
operating systems and architectures. Description of protocols in machines and systems is done in an
independent manner in NFS using the External Data Representation. Implementation of NFS takes

SCSI (Internet Small Computer System Interface)! ! iSCSI is a transport layer protocol. How SCSI
packets are transported over a TCP/IP network is decided by this protocol. This protocol can be used
to send data over various area networks like

transmits block level data between a iSCSI server and a iSCSI client located in a storage device.
The iSCSI protocol provides encapsulation to SCSI commands and rearranged packet to the TCP/IP

When these packets arrive at the destination, the protocol strips down the extra headers in such a
way that the SCSI commands are seen by the operating system as a local SCSI device that can be
formatted as usual. ! ! iSCSI is popular in small and medium businesses because of the way server
Comparison Of Amazon And Best Buy
The retail sector incorporates businesses that sell goods and services to consumers. Over the past
couple of years, there have been changes to the industry which has provided favorable returns to
some companies but adversely affected the bottom line of others. The retail industry was originally
a made to order market which would require excessive need of brick and mortar operations. Due to
technological advances, the industry has shifted towards a made to stock strategy in order to keep up
with consumer demand. In addition, the consumers today prefer to browse through a catalog or
through the internet in order to make spending decisions and then wait for the item to be shipped.
Given its unrelenting competitive environment, the retail industry is constantly exposed to rapid
changes. These changes have given online retailers a competitive advantage over the traditional
stores who have recently experienced a drop in foot traffic. The continuous drop in the number of
sales has forced the stores to rely heavily on big markdowns in order to clear out the unsold
inventory. The executives of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Pros And Cons Of Credit Agreement
2.1.2Credit Agreement Credit agreement is not specifically regulated under Law Number 10 of
1998 on Banking and Civil Code. The definition and theories about credit agreement can be
obtained from the opinions of the scholars. Some legal scholars, such as Subekti defined credit
agreement as whatever form of credit it holds, in all it s essentially, what occured is actually an
agreement of borrowing as stipulated in Article 1754 to Article 1769 of the Civil Code. Similar
opinion is also expressed by Marhainis Abdul Hay who said that the credit agreement is identical
to the lending and borrowing agreement and subject to the provisions of Chapter XIII of Book III
of the Civil Code. The same thing also expressed by Badrulzaman who said that the... Show more

This means, the covenant has been provided by the bank in the form of the appplication, while the
debtors need to learn and understand them very well. The downside of this agreement, when viewed
from the debtor s point of view, the debtor is left with a choice of two options accept or reject,
without any possibility to negotiate or bargain with the bank. In this case the debtor can not do much
in the face of the creditor as standard contract has been determined by the bank. The existence of
credit agreement is very important because the function as the basic contarctual relationship between

proposed that credit agreement has three functions, namely : a.Functioning as a fundamental
agreement, which means the credit agreement is something that determines the approval of other
future agreement that followed, for example the covenant binding guarantee; b.Function as evidence
of the limitations of the rights and obligations between the creditor and debtor; c.Functioning as a
tool for monitoring the credit. 2.1.3 Handling of Non Performing
The Prejudice Of Kill A Mockingbird By Harper Lee

Honors English One/Period 2
1 March 2015
The Prejudice of Maycomb All men are created equal , one of the most ignored statements that our
founding fathers wrote in the Constitution. People exercise prejudice everywhere in the U.S.
Prejudice is a topic that is constantly revisited in Harper Lee s novel, To Kill a Mockingbird. Her
novel focuses on Scout, the daughter of Atticus Finch, living her life in the 1930s of rural
Maycomb, Alabama. Scout witnesses the injustice and prejudice against many people, not only
Negroes. The heat of prejudice rises when Atticus decides to defend Tom Robinson, a black who is
going under trial for allegedly raping a white girl. Despite the clear evidence that Robinson is
innocent, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Calpurnia responds that folks don t like to have somebody around knowin more than they do. It
aggravates em. You re not gonna change any of them by talking right, they ve got to learn
themselves, and when they don t want to learn, there s nothing you can do but keep your mouth
shut or talk their language. (Lee 167) Calpurnia s insight offers us a look at the language divide
between whites and blacks. White people dislike a person who speaks like a black and black people
dislike a person who speaks like a white. The fact that the black community despises the way
whites act and vice versa shows the fear of difference. Scout s neighbor, Mrs. Dubose also
dislikes people who act differently, including Atticus, which is shown when, she shouts at Scout.
Yes indeed, what has the world come to when a Finch goes against his raising? I ll tell you. She
put her hand to her mouth. When she drew it away, It trailed a long silver thread of saliva. Your
father s no better than the niggers and trash that he works for! (Lee 135) Mrs. Dubose dislikes
people who act differently than expected. Atticus acted differently than other people earning him the
hatred of Mrs. Dubose. Mrs. Dubose also compares Negroes to trash, showing that she also hates
Negroes, probably because they have different skin color from her. The town of Maycomb

Going the Distance
Helen Corne
Going the Distance Life is full of hard knocks. I was raised in a broken down apartment, by my
single mother. She tried her best to support my sister and me. There were five apartments in each
complex. There must have been at least ten trashy buildings pushed together by government
funding. Each apartment had up to ten people hiding away in it. There were enough people to
create our own city. The walls were so thin that I could smell the fried foods, and hear the neighbors
yelling at their kids from the next apartment. The apartments stunk of bug spray, and roaches
crawled out from under the doors. My clothes were handed down from my older sister who had a
problem of wetting herself. My mother washed the clothes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

He told me about how much responsibility a soldier has. He stated that every soldier is responsible
for performing his duty to the very best of his ability. He then mentioned how I would be
responsible for my behavior. I would have to clean myself up and look like the Hollywood version
of a soldier. He said that every soldier in the Army assumes this personal responsibility when they
take the oath. Although this information seemed a bit overwhelming, I was captivated, and felt
ready to move forward.
My next step was for the recruiter to set up an appointment for me to take a test, known as the
Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB). This test measures the skill level of a
person to fit them with the right type of job. It was a set of questions in English, Math, and
Vocabulary. Although I dropped out of high school, I considered myself to be a smart person, so
I was not afraid to take this test. I found out a week later that I passed it in the 90th percentile. A
few days later, I was sworn into the Army, in a large gymnasium, with about 200 other recruits,
and was soon on my way to basic training. This was a new way of life for me. Going from a poor
boy in the projects, to having a promising future, was electrifying. I felt that by becoming a
soldier, I had made the best decision of my life. The bus showed up. I stood with luggage in hand,
and boarded the dim bus. I sat down next to a guy about my age, but from Guam, or some island like
Essay on Arnold Schwarzenegger
From Celebrity to Politician
Arnold Schwarzenegger became governor of California, not because he supported the issues of
the majority, nor because he had a plan to solve California s economic crisis, but because the
economy was failing and he rose to the occasion. His popularity in the movie industry gave him
the face he needed to win the reelection. As easy as it seemed, how did Arnold manage to be so
successful in his campaign? He is a popular figure with almost no experience in politics. Known for
his star role in Terminator, how did his figure affect his chances of getting elected governor of the
most populous state in the nation?

When Arnold approached each town, people would sing along to his blaring rock anthem: we re not
going to take it anymore (Sanchez)! The majority of Californians had already felt that Governor
Gray Davis performed badly and was not able to alleviate the situation much more. As mentioned
before, people had lost faith in politicians, and they want a whole different kind of governor. They
prefer to hear the impossible rather than unkept promises. Arnold was able to use this to his
advantage. Along with his amazing speeches through his campaign, he used more than $10 million
of his personal wealth and a relentless throw the bums out battle cry to attract legions of
disgruntled voters yearning for a postcard California where car taxes never triple and economic
good times are as reliable as the sunshine (Sanchez). In the exit polls Tuesday, 61 percent of those
who supported the novice Republican said they believe he can erase multibillion dollar deficits
without raising taxes, a feat that even some of his top economic advisors have questioned (Sanchez).
Arnold must have been confident that he will be able to keep his promises in doing the
impossible (Brown). If you look at what he had proposed, it is nearly unachievable for him to
accomplish his tasks without raising taxes. Wasn t he somewhat afraid of the things he said? He
looked serene and confident as he cast his ballot, striking a pose as a candidate who never
Sexism In Captain Phillips
Captain Phillips is an American movie based on true life story which was directed by Paul
Greengrass in 2013. One would wonder why Africans have much enmity for Whites; my curiosity
to watch an action movie counted Captain Phillips as my favorite text. In this movie, the main
characters were Captain Phillips played by Tom Hanks and the Somalian pirates. Captain Phillips
was a civilian sailor who had a duty to sail Maersk container ship from Oman to Mombasa in Africa.
A crew of pirates from Somalia attacked the Maersk container ship on the sea which led to a long
day negotiation between the pirates and the crews of Captain Phillips. Unfortunately, Captain
Phillips was captured by the pirates into a life boat. The shipping company had no option than to
save Captain Phillips and so they sent the U.S navy ship to negotiate with the pirates. During the
negotiation, Captain Phillips managed to tell the navy negotiator his seat number. The navy
employed a strategic raid on the life boat and killed all the pirates to save Captain Phillips
(Greengrass, 2013).

According to Bell Hooks, Feminism is a movement to end sexism, sexist exploitation and
oppression. Sexism refers to the unfair treatment of people due to their sex especially to women.
Most women are facing the problem of sexism because there are no room for high paying skilled
labor opened to them due to the problem of gender socialization. It was not gender discrimination
or sexist oppression that kept privileged women of all races from working outside the home, it was
the fact that the jobs that would have been available to them would have been the same low paying
unskilled labor open to all working women. (Hooks, 2000). Women have been made default pursuers
of unskillful labor which is a disadvantage for women but to the advantage of the men in the
The Rise Of Anti Semitism
With the rise of anti Semitism and the pogroms targeting European Jews in the late 1800s, there
were many Jewish theorists and practitioners arose to find the ultimate solution for the Jewish
question . In addition, the derived tension between the personal life of a Jew and the public life
amongst secular society was the main challenge facing European Jewry. As a result of the long
term process through which Jews attempted to resolve the tension between their personal and
public lives in a secular society wrought with anti Semitism, the Zionist Movement emerged on
the world scene lead by many intellectual and respected key figures. Among them, Theodore Herzl
and Ahad Ha Am were the two most prominent Zionist leaders. They both shared the same idea of
nationalism where it was time for all European Jews to unite and be recognized as a nation.
Although having a sense of national consciousness to unite the displaced Jews, their visions were
completely opposite. The Zionist Idea, a text by Arthur Hertzberg, described their different visions
in term of mass evacuation, statehood, religion, and culture. Both Herzl and Ha Am agreed on
one thing, it was time for the European Jews unite against the European oppressors. As Herzl
writes: A more serious objection would be that I am giving aid and comfort to the anti Semites
when I say we are a people one people. As the height of anti Semitism in Europe, Herzl understood
the severity of the problem for the Jews to live in Europe. In
