See s Candies Research Paper
I chose See s Candies as my mystery shop at because it was affordable and I was able to give what I
bought as a gift. Another reason I chose See s Candies was I could make up a situation to shop
with. I was a little surprised by the set up of the shop, as I had never been in one before, but I liked
the grayscale colorscheme of its interior. Most See s Candies have monochrome interiors, excluding
the candy, of course. This is becuase the kitchen where Mary See, the mother of founder Charles
See, made candy was black and white See s Candies was founded by Charles See, in Los Angeles,
in the year 1921. See s Candies motto, quality without compromise, was originally coined by the
founder. The corporate offices are in South San Francisco, California.... Show more content on

When I first walked in the store appeared to be completely devoid of employees, and no customers
were present. Since I had no clue whether the store was open or not, I stood there awkwardly,
wondering. Once the employee came out of the back, asked if the store was open. She confirmed
that it was, and asked if I needed help with anything. I told her how I was looking for something for
my mom, and she was allergic to peanuts. The employee explained, the Christmas themed
chocolates, which happened to be closest to us, were the only chocolates manufactured in a peanut

Immigration Issues
Over the years the United States has been called a nation of immigrants. The fact that America is a
melting pot for so many different cultures, races, and religions makes it unique in the world. The
newcomers, both legal and illegal, fill labor shortages and provide new business opportunities.
History shows they also bring ideas, vigor, and ambition. However, rising immigrant numbers and
messy immigrationpolicies have become a serious problem to gain control of. Although immigrants
have contributed to America, the government should reform current immigration policies and limit
immigrants flow today because of the economics and the large populationproblem. Kofi Annan in her
lecture on International Flows of Humanity states that we... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As Kofi Annan in her lecture on International Flows of Humanity states, migrant workers in
developed countries send at least $88 billion back to their countries of origin more than those same
developing countries received in official development aid (Annan). If American government won t
do anything about it, the numbers will grow faster with each year. I suggest that to compensate the
loss of national wealth, American government should stop sending financial aid to developing
countries. Unlimited immigration will cause a large population problem. The large population in
India has caused increasing unemployment, unsafe environments, and a lack of resources. Following
their experience, America should be on the alert that continued rising immigrant numbers will lead to
a large population one day. It is estimated that if immigration continues at a current levels, the nation
s population will increase from 301 million today to 468 million in 2060 a 167 million (56 percent)
increase (Camarota). Immigrants plus their descendents will account for 105 million (63 percent) of
the increase (Camarota). Kofi Annan mentions in her article:
The more we try to deal with migration simply by clamping down on it with tighter border controls,
the more we find that human rights are sacrificed on the journey, at the border, and inside host
countries.

As part of a feudal system, males workers were liable to recruitment into the kings army as foot
soldiers or the king s navy as rowers. They provided wealth and income for the king and the empire.

What was tribute?

The administrative costs of the empire were met by tribute. Most tribute sent to the treasuries of
Persia was in the form of manufactured goods and metals, especially silver and gold dust. It
could also be given in the form of produce, where the amount for each satrapy was worked out on
the basis of the cultivated land and its crop capacity each year. Tribute was collected by satraps and
provided as gifts to the great king.

Who or what was Pasargadae?

Pasargadae is the building site of Cyrus the Great where he created an expansive garden complex. It

Gender Roles In The Sun Also Rises
The male and female roles have been made since the beginning of time. The man is to provide for
the family while the wife is to tend to the household duties and children. Now, instead of the
traditional roles men and women are changing up the perspective. Gender roles in the 19th to 20th
century have evolved from the traditional roles.
In the story The Sun Also Rises there is a female character named Brett, who has many male
attributes, she wears manly clothing and her hair is trimmed down to a length normally for men. In
the nineteenth century her appearance would have been seen as unattractive, but in the twentieth
century it would contribute to her sex appeal. She was considered a cross dresser, cross dressing is

The term metrosexual originated in the early 90 s, Mark Simpson combined the terms metropolitan
and heterosexual to form metrosexual. This term stands for a man who cares about his appearance
and is not gay. The misconception about metrosexual men is they have gay characteristics simply
because they are well groomed. Metrosexual men are just as equal as all other sexualities.
Regardless, of sexuality or characteristic preferences, all deserve the same respect as others. In the
LGBT community equality is the goal for all members. Being able to love and be you is the biggest

A Letter From The Story, Meleager And The Boar
I choose to write a letter from the point of view of Meleager s mother, Althaea from the story,
Meleager and the Boar . I choose this story because of the strong message of how significant family
is to the Greeks and the ties between blood and loyalty. The emotions portrayed throughout the story
of the conflict between Althaea and Meleager leads to a tragic end and allows the reader to
understand the importance of familyand how betrayal is not taken lightly even if you re connected
by blood. Betrayal is not easily forgiven and Althaea shows this through her actions of vengeance
towards her own son for the deaths of her brothers. I really found it interesting how Althaea reacted
to the news of her brothers death at the hands of her... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Excuse my poor manners dear reader, I haven t been myself in quite awhile. Let me start from the
beginning of this sorry tale. Only then may I be judged for my actions.

My son, Meleager was just a few days old when I was visited by the ones we call the Fates. I held
my son close to my breast uncertain of what my child s fate would be. Would he be destined for a
long and joyous life, bringing honor to the family name? Or would he perish in my arms, hardly
catching a glimpse of this miraculous gift we call life? One by one each sister foretold how my
beautiful son would become a heroic and a brave man. My heart swelled with pride as I heard the
great deeds my own blood would accomplish in the future. But my pride was quickly replaced
with horror when the last sister spoke of how my little ones life was tied to the stick that burnt in
the hearth. Once the fire consumed it, so too would my sons life be extinguished from this world.
With haste I doused the stick with water, ensuring the life of my son was kept in safe hands,
protected from the grasp of Hades. I knew I would do anything to protect my son. After all isn t that
my job as a mother, It wasn t till years later that I understood what the Fates were telling me.

I remember it clearly. My golden robes fluttered in the wind as I rushed to the temple to express my
gratitude to the gods for my son s fortunate victory against the great boar. But my happiness was not
to last long, for then I saw the stiff remains
The Ethics Of A Code Of Ethics
Introduction
Any organization operating in the global marketplace is subject toscrutinyy in the way it does
business. This scrutiny can be both internal and/or external to the organization, with the advent of
the internet and social media any infraction by an organization can be made public within seconds
of it surfacing. To help offset negative public relations and to foster a working environment that
employees, managers and major stakeholders can be proud of, codes of ethics are created as a set of
guidelines for every involved stakeholder to follow and adhere to.
In his conclusion (Lambert, 2009) states that the development and subsequent implementation of a
code of ethics is a critical part of establishing a value system within the commercial crime
prevention discipline. He further goes on to say that, as a value system, the success of this endeavor
lies not in whether the code makes staff behave, but rather more importantly, that each of them
develops his or her own moral compass to do the right thing.
As stated in their article (Duggan Woodhouse, 2011) that a bottom up approach to creating a code
of ethics was an important preventative effort to help lessen the odds of ethical stumbles and was
adamant that in order for a code of ethics to pack a punch, there should be some substantial input
from the employees as a way to arrive at a set of codes that would be meaningful and relevant to
employees.

The Israeli and Palestinian Gaza Conflict Essay
Broad international consensus regarding the political and legal controversies of the Israeli and
Palestinian Gaza conflict has been minimal at best. At its worst it has fueled the controversies
created by the United Nations Fact Finding Mission, through which, both sides maintain their
positions and justification for their actions. In ordered to obtain an opinion on this issue one must
examine the factual historical background of the GazaConflict. By identifying the major legal and
political discrepancies, observing the perspectives of those who defend Israeli actions, and those
who have a strong critique against those actions we can grasp the complexity of this issue and make
an assessment of actions on both sides. In 2005 Israel... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
International outcry caused the creation of the United Nations Fact Finding Mission on the Gaza
Conflict. This conflict has brought about legal and political controversies pertaining to the use of
force, obligations of Palestinian and Israeli forces to use precaution pertaining to civilian
population and infrastructure, illegality of the blockade, and human rights abuses by Israeli
defense forces which still elude full resolution and clarity. Based on the United Nations Fact
Finding Missions on the Gaza Conflict (aka the Goldstone Report) defenders of Israeli actions
such as Golda Begin would start by arguing that the fact finding mission came in with pre
conceived biases against Israel. Alan Dershowitz believes the fact finding mission is far more
accusatory of Israeli actions, far less balanced in its criticism of Hamas, far less honest in its
evaluation of evidence, far less responsible in drawing its conclusions, far more biased against Israeli
than Palestinian witnesses, and far more willing to draw adverse inferences of intentionally from
Israeli conduct and statements than from comparable Palestinian conduct and statements.
(Dershowitz, pg.1) A common theme in the report is the accusation that Israel instituted military
policies which led to the intentional death of Palestinian civilians. Dershowitz believes that this is
the reason the Goldstone Report chose to ignore
Analysis Of The BookO Pioneers, By Willa Cather
A woman running a farm was a taboo topic in the late 19th century. She was met with sexism and
resentment from her peers. In O Pioneers!, the narrator, Alexandra Bergson, shares the same
perseverance and feminist perspective as the author Willa Cather does; in addition, the novel
reflects the hardships and strengths faced by American pioneers in the 1890 s. Cather was
inspired by the vast possibility of the land that she grew up in, and incorporated that important
aspect of her life into the novel. Professor Amy Ahearn elaborated that Cather put the shaggy
grass country at the center of the novel, and allowed the form of the land to provide the structure
of the book (Ahearn). Her precious childhood hometown was the basis of the setting of her novel.
Alexandra s parents similarly immigrated to Nebraska from Norway, and ran a large and
successful farm. As her father was dying, he gave her the responsibility to run the farm in his
place, as she was the one best suited for the task, surpassing her brothers. Further, journalist Amy
Ahearn describes that Alexandra had lost her gaiety and her femininity as she domesticated and
enlarged the property (Ahearn). As she ran the farm, she consequently had various aspects of her
persona changed. As a result of her hard work to change and run the farm, Alexandra herself
changes from a quiet lady to a prudent tomboy. She was faced with a responsibility she felt
obligated to carry out, because she wanted to make her father proud
Hospital Based Shootings
A disaster is an event that is a natural or man made occurrence that can disrupt or destroy the lives
of those it affects (Stanhope Lancaster, 2014). Management of a disaster includes four phases;
prevention, preparedness, response and recovery (Stanhope Lancaster, 2014). To date there have
been 154 hospital based shootings, which resulted in 235 dead or injured. (C.Catlett, 2012). The
purpose of this paper is to identify emergency preparedness and response to hospital based
shootings, and the role of the public health nurse in such a disaster.

A study by Johns Hopkins observed that healthcare workers are predominantly vulnerable during
active shootings. According to the John Hopkins study The rate of assaults on them is 8 in 10,000,
compared with 2 in 10,000 for the private sector . (hopkinsmedicine.org, 2014) Drills and training
courses have risen across the United States in the aftermath of active shootings. Professional nurses
can collaborate with law enforcement to conduct hospital drills that include industry guidelines,
safety rules, staffing suggestions, checklists and scenarios for planning a similar event. In Los
Angeles a workshop that role plays with plastic weapons, demonstrates to facility workers that they
can defend themselves during such emergencies. (calhospitalprepare.org,
