Community College Is A Little Out Of Place
One question that I am often asked after introducing myself is but why are you here though? For
many people that I ve talked to, the thought of a Wisconsinite moving to Michigan for community
college seems a little out of place. For most people, community college is something that is done
before moving to another state for college, not after. However, this was not the route I was destined
to take, and it payed of to be one of the best ones of my academic career, even if it does come of as a
little strange.
If there were one thing that shapes my identity the most, it would be my home. For most of my
twenty year existence, I lived a fairly comfortable life in the sleepy town of West Salem, Wisconsin.
It was the type of town where ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One possible beginning stems from my time spend at our said family cabin in the Northwoods of
Wisconsin. Where I could be found spending time reading an atlas for fun as the calming sounds
of crickets, and loons echoed in the distance. Besides my academic interests, many of my hobbies
also came into being there. Whether that be in the form of ukulele playing, reading, photography,
or one of my personal favorites trying new foods (especially of the ethnic variety), they all exist
thanks in part to America s dairyland. My passion for photography, for example, all began one
summer day three years ago when I picked up my Dad s Nikon camera, and began taking pictures
as I hiked through our forty acre property. This is a passion that continues to this day, and one that I
am excited to pursue more while I am here in Michigan. Which brings me to another part of my
story, the move here itself.
My Dad was originally from the Jackson area, and for the longest time I had absolutely no idea
where that even was (well besides a rough geographical area from a finger pointing on to a spot on
his palm.) While I lived in Wisconsin, we barely had time to visit Michigan. Often times only
visiting once every few years, usually around easter. Before the move I barely even knew my
relatives in Jackson, besides the correspondence of a birthday letter, or the occasional phone call.
This all changed, however, one summer day when my Dad sat my sister
Regression Between Male Height, Age And Weight Essay
Rebecca Parada MATH 110 02 Professor Mink Regression between Male Height, Age and Weight
Biostatistics is important to study as undergraduates delve deeper into their studies of Biology
and learn how the study of life is integrated into more than just their college level science courses.
Looking into the use of statistics at a scientific level at this stage of our education is preparing
determined and enthusiastic students for the world of medicine as one day we will have to read
and analyze sets of data and more than likely give the statistics of our patients issues. Biostatistics
is allowing students to explore the world of medicine using a different approach, mathematically
and critically. The purpose of this experiment was to determine if a significant multiple regression
exists between my 3 quantitative variables, Weight, Height and Age and to determine the best
regression model to use when making predictions. In Part 1, I conducted a statistical experiment
to determine if a linear relationship exists between each of my independent variables and my
dependent variable, which were biological in nature. My independent variables were height
(inches) and age (years). My dependent variable was weight (pounds). The goal of my experiment
was to observe a linear correlation between an 18 22 year old male s height and weight. I collected
my data by randomly selecting a sample size of 25 male individuals who attend Montclair State
University. The best method of prediction would
Slavery in Aristotle s Works Essay
Before a serious investigation of any aspect of Aristotle s political theories is undertaken, we must
take a moment to acknowledge that many of the institutions and doctrines he defends have been
repudiated in modern political thought. In fact many such institutions are appalling and simply
morally wrong. One such institution is slavery. Aristotleargues in the Politics that slavery is just. No
argument is needed to conclude that Aristotle made a terrible ethical and moral error in defending
slavery. Further we must accept that the argument of the abolition of slavery was available to him
as his defense of slavery is in response to criticswho claim slavery is unjust. What sparks intriguing
debate is questioning why... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I also feel it is necessary to include a brief summary of Aristotle s conception or theory of slavery,
how he would apply the institution of slavery in his ideal city. The remainder of the paper will
include discussion and commentary on the validity of Aristotle s defense of slavery, including both
criticisms as well as limited support for the logical consistency.
As theory cannot escape the social, economic and political of the time in which it was developed,
one cannot truly consider critiquing Aristotle s natural theory of slavery without some knowledge of
slavery in Aristotle s world. First and foremost, slavery was ubiquitous. Furthermore, they were
employed not only as household servants and stewards, but in Aristotle s Athens, they are worked in
the fields, the mines, as craftsman, traders, secretaries, accountants, teachers, doctors, public
servants, and participated in the arts. Hence they were indispensable for satisfying the needs of
Athenians of even modest affluence. The perfect household was one that had slaves (Politics 1253b
4). Without their exploitation, the middle and upper classes good life would cease to exist.
Moreover, the Aristotelian, ideal citizen would not be free to engage in the rational activities
prescribed. While Aristotle s defense of slavery can be considered morally repugnant to

Rawls Difference Principle and its Compatibility with Democratic Equality
Introduction
With a limited availability of wealth and resources, all societies are posed with a common dilemma:
how ought these goods be distributed among members of the community in a way that is just? In A
Theory of Justice, John Rawls, an influential political philosopher of the 20th century, attempts to
provide a solution to this dilemma by presenting a hypothetical situation, known as the Original
Position, in which multiple parties determine the principles that will constitute the basic structure of
the society they will live in. In order to ensure that the party members make their choices impartially

The other component of Rawls justification of inequalities is the difference principle. It holds that
inequalities in wealth and social status are permitted just in case that they benefit the least well
off. Thus, Injustice [...] is simply inequalities that are not to the benefit of all (Rawls, 1971).
Rawls suggests that the least well off can be defined as those who occupy the class of unskilled
workers and hold the least amount of wealth in society. He also suggests that inequalities be
evaluated through an index of primary goods . Primary goods are those that are essential for one
to exercise his moral powers, such as rights and liberties, power and opportunity, and health and
intelligence (Quong, 2017). Thus, the index of primary goods is representative of one s
expectations of having the necessary primary goods in order to function as a citizen while
exercising his moral powers.
Examples of permissible inequalities as according to the difference principle lie in idea of incentive.
For instance, Rawls argues that inequalities in income are just, because they provide an incentive to
work and contribute to the overall well being of the society. Thus, the skilled or talented workers of
the society would require more income in order to stay productive. Without the higher income as an
incentive, the talented workers would not be as productive, which in turn negatively impacts the
least well off, as there

Philosophy of religion is a division of thinking concerned with questions concerning about religion,
as well as the natural world and existence of God, the assessment of religious knowledge, analysis of
religious language and texts, and the association of religion and science. It is an ancient regulation,
being found in the earliest known documents concerning philosophy, and relates to many other
kindling of viewpoint and general thought, including metaphysics, reason, and the past.
Furthermore, A general explanation of philosophy is of a order that arises from the history of its
primary activity of asking and answering questions about reality, meaning, and value.
Religion can be the subject of theoretical question, as we saw with William James and John Hick.
The conclusion that mystical experiences led to spiritual belief and the portrayal of religion as a
vehicle of self transformation both follow logically from the notion we discussed of religion. While it

But telling your story will make people reconsider the trial. Maybe this could change the country s

I don t think there is a problem in our legal system. I don t think we will make anything better by
showing a picture of me looking at his picture and tell how devastated I am now. One of the only
things I still have is my pride. And as a principle, drama would not make me or my husband proud

Ok, I understand Mrs. Evans. He noticed the way she looked at her husband s picture hanging on
top of the chimney. It was like he was still there to watch her. Everything in the room was tidy and
clean. She must have made time pass by cleaning up everything. He could see though that there
was an unusually big pile of papers on the corner of the desk behind her seat. Maybe she had been
busy organizing some things, a job or maybe a closer investigation on the case...
I was wondering Mrs. Evans, if you don t mind telling. How has it been for you since, uhm, since

I have to say, I have mostly stayed here since. I don t like the way people look at me

Battle On The Plains Of Abraham And The Metis
Battles help students realize the perspectives of each side. For an example, Battle on the Plains of
Abraham and Battle of Seven Oaks have perspectives of British and French or Scottish and The
Metis, which makes students become more aware of which side they agree on . However, both of
these battles started with a vengeance, hatred and wrongdoings, but differ in the terms of their
elaborate details, specific reasons, and surprising results after the fighting.
One similarity between these 2 battles is that the English side caused both of the battles. The British
caused it by capturing Louisberg and Quebec on the other hand, the Scottish banned the Metis from
trading meat, fish, or vegetables from the Red river. Both, British and Scottish tortured their enemies
in different ways. The Scottish starved The Metis and took things away from them whereas The
British bombarded Louisberg so the French would surrender it. In addition, the French ... Show more

1300 soldiers died on the Plains of Abraham. Equally, both of these military fights lasted for about a
