Similarities Between Lenin And Stalin
Lenin and Stalin were similar in a few ways, Lenin s ultimate goal for the Soviet Union and the
Communist party was World Revolution. World revolution was led by the working class called the
proletariat. With that Stalin has some of the similar ideas but went down a different road to establish
his idea and goal. When it comes to Stalinism, there are essential features that are unique. Stalin used
some ideas of Marxismand Leninism along with his own spin in it. One big difference that makes
Stalin different from Lenin is the policy that each had. Lenin s idea was world revolution, where
Stalin used his idea of socialism in one country. Stalin s socialism in one country focused more on

The Five Year Plans were set up by Stalin and his right hand men; they set up these goals in a few
categories of the Soviet Union. It was called the Five Year Plan because they hoped to achieve
everything they set up in five years; once the goals were achieved they would discuss and set up
the next Five Year Plan. In the first Five Year Plan, it focused on agriculture. Before the plan, the
farmers and the workers essentially worked on their own farms that were run by their families,
allowing them to have the freedom to do as they pleased, but with Socialism on the brink
everything changed. Socialism includes the government in charge of everything, meaning that
collective farming was the new thing. With that farmers and the peasants were taken away from
the farm and then everyone was combined into what they called a collective farm. This meant
that everyone on that farm had to work together to get the outcome that they wanted. People didn
t have the choice of having their farm put into a collective farm. In the case if anyone didn t like
the idea or spoke out against the actions they would be shipped to Siberia where they would work
for hard labor or they could be shipped to concentration camps. The idea of dekulakization
happened to the kulaks, meaning that if there were villages that had too many peasants would be
liquidated. It was the same concept as collective farming. A key thing with the Kulaks was that a
Rich peasant was a bad peasant. Stalin s reasoning behind the planned economy and the use of
collective farming would make the Union a better place. With that the government would be in
control of everything. That was supposed to make the Union more efficient and effective, allowing
everyone to have access to and produce more food in order to feed the growing number of people and

The identity crisis in this novel is indeed emphasized in the title, the Namesake. Changing name
here is quite important for Gogol in seeking his true identity, since name symbolizes how he sees
himself and how he wants to be seen by others. Later, Gogol changes his name to Nikhil, since he
feels it reflects his dual identity, both being Indian and also American, better. Nikhil is indeed a
Bengali name but it can also be shortened to an American nickname, Nick. Therefore, it is a hybrid
name in which it will be easier for him to deal better with his dual

Value Of Life Essay
Hello class of 2018 , parents, family, friends, and SOAR faculty. I am honored to be addressing
you guys today during our high school graduation. I never thought I would personally make it this
far, but here I am.Today I would like to talk to you guys about the value of life. I am going to
address my personal point of view on the valueof life, and how I feel about it. I know some of you
might have never thought about how valuable your life is. Hopefully, by the end of my speech you
will have a new perspective on life. Let s begin.
Before I begin I would like to tell you guys what I think about life. Personally, I value life as
something special, that should never be taken for granted. I strongly feel that life is special and
even if you are wealthy or poor it does not matter because in the end you are still living. I feel that
today in American society a lot of us do not value life as much as we should. This is due to the
fact that we are so privileged that ist is hard to realize how valuable our life is. However, in
poorer countries the people view life as something sacred and understand life s true values, and
know how special it is. I would like to state that you cannot put a price tag on someone s life. But
people begin to think what is a life worth? If you research online you will find that there are Human
Life Value Calculator and personally I think these are inaccurate and inhumane. Essentially, what this
calculator does is it takes your income, taxes, savings,
Feudalism In Medieval Europe
ife was extremely difficult for those living during the Middle Ages. Many people were illiterate,
and relied mainly on their beliefs. The people believed that fate ruled their existence; therefore,
there was little hope for improving their condition. During the years of the Roman Empire, the
peasants, or poor citizens of the empire, were protected by the soldiers of the emperor. After the
fall of the Roman Empire in 476 A.D., the peasants longed for protection. There were no laws
protecting these peasants, so they turned to the lords to keep the peace and to act on their behalf.
The willingness exemplified by the peasants to be ruled by the lords led to the beginnings of the
dominant social system in Medieval Europe: feudalism.
Feudalism is simply defined as land exchanged for work. However, feudalism entails a more
complicated aspect: a social hierarchy in which protection and military service was exchanged for
homage, labor, and a share of the produce. R.J. Barendense, an author of the Journal of World
History, states that feudalism is ...a specific world historic juncture in which peasant societies were
subjugated by an aristocracy of mounted warriors that became more powerful than any central
institution and increasingly appropriated the jurisdiction over the peasants, and thus the land
revenue. In other worlds, the nobility held lands from the Crown in exchange for military service,
and vassals were in turn tenants of the nobles, while the peasants, or serfs, were obliged to live on
their lord s land and give him homage, labor, and a share of the produce, notionally in exchange for
military protection. Feudalism established an ultimate system of control for medieval society,
providing a degree of cohesiveness in a society that lacked an adequate bureaucracy or method of
taxation.
As stated, feudalism was simply a system of government in which people were given land and
protection by people of a higher rank. The lower class worked fought for the upper class in return.
In feudalism, the main Feudal Hierarchy consisted of the King, the Nobles, the Knights, and the
Peasants, who were called serfs.
The King was the highest person according to the feudal system. A king had the duty of controlling

Where the Red Fern Grows: Compare and Contrast

In Hollywood, there have been over forty two movies made that were based on books, but many
times the movies do not live up to their high expectations. The movie, Where the Red Fern Grows,
was a movie which did not live up to the high expectations set by the book. The novel, Where the
Red Fern Grows, is a story about a country boy named Billy Colman, who hunts coons in the
Ozarks with his loyal redbone hounds. It is a story of friendship, love, loyalty, and adventure.
However, tragedy strikes and Billy is forced to change from a young boy to a man. In the novel and
the movie adapted from it, a plethora of similarities and differences can be discovered.

The movie adaptation of the book kept many of the key commonalities found in the novel similar.
One major event that was kept the same, was the fact that Billy had to ... Show more content on

A major difference that the novel and the movie had was that Billy didn t win the coon hunt in the
movie. In the movie, a man named Sam Bellington won the coon hunt, but out of pity, gave the
cup to Billy. This event was one of the vital events in the book. It was the culmination of all of
Billy s hard work and his dogs dedication. Another distinction was that Billy only saved for one
year to earn money for his pups in the movie. This plot element was one of the many important
times when Billy demonstrated his tenacity. It showed how devoted Billy was to earn his pups and
how willing he was to work two years to earn enough. The fact that Billy only worked for one year
to earn the money greatly diminishes his industrious mindset, Evidently, there are many differences
between the novel and the movie adapted from

Logan: A Stand Out Superhero Movie
In the past few years, the superhero genre has risen into the movie industry. This year alone, six
superhero movies were released. The superhero genre is popular among young adults. While big
studios like Marvel and DC are competing for audiences, many overlook Fox studio, which has been
making critically acclaimed superhero movies like the X Men way before the surge of the genre.
The competition between studios create an oversaturation making it hard for films like Logan to
stand, but it does this and more. Logan not only transcends the superhero genre but also turns the
superhero format on its head. Logan incorporates elements found in the drama, road trip, and
western genre and emphasizes emotion over action. Set in a post apocalyptic future, Logon tells
the story of a broken down Wolverine in his older years, taking care of Charles. Despite his
reluctance to engage in any more conflicts, he is forced to escort Laura, a young girl, to safety.
Although Logan may be criticized for its one dimensional villains and overdone story, director James
Mangold, successfully crafted an excellent film that separates itself from the genre through realistic
characters and a simplistic plot.
Most of the time, Logan centralizes on its main characters, so it is understandable that other
characters are not as fleshed out. The villains came off as uninteresting and forgettable. Boyd
Holbrook played Donald Pierce, a generic villain with no reason why he is
