Miss Brandy-Personal Narrative
I know it isn t appropriate to discuss so openly in front of the rest of my class, my emotional issues
but a part of me, a part of me wants to and a part of me feels like I need to speak. I need to speak, for
I am afraid, I am afraid that if I do not speak, I may crumble and I am afraid that I may not have
this opportunity again. So I begin speaking.
I am a walking paradox Miss Brandy... You see, the problem is, I want to speak but I am too afraid

To the point where you actually feel like you are going to implode with emotion, however you have
to stop yourself.
I carry dark secrets around with me that cause my grief, intense feelings of grief and I know one day
I will have to speak aloud about these feelings, I will have to face facts and just grieve. Because, if I
do not, I am afraid I may die a broken man and I couldn t do that to her.
Grief is the price we pay for love, and in conclusion to this, love is the gift we receive for dealing
with grief. There is always a rainbow at the end of a hurricane after all. A storm never lasts, it
eventually passes but before you can allow it to pass you need to accept the situation and you need to
keep your head held high and move on but you can only do that through writing, through talk,
through telling. Through pure, simple, honesty and then you will be set free.

My Experience With Severe Anxiety
When I reflect on everything that has happened thus far in my lifetime, I am amazed at how far I
have come. I was born on May 31st, 1998. My mom was in college when she had me, and my
father worked two jobs to support the family. They worked incredibly hard to make sure that I
had a good and comfortable life. They never gave up, even when they were loaded with their
many responsibilities, because they cared so much for me and my future. I truly admire them for
that. They instilled the value of preserving, and never giving up, no matter how tough your
challenges in life are. This value is very important to me, and I believe that I would not be where I
am today if I didn t stay true to this value. This value has been especially important when I have had
to deal with severe anxiety.
I have dealt with anxiety my entire life. The anxiety became especially intense during my freshman
year of high school. It began to severely interfere with my schooling, to the point where I could not
even attend school. I many attempts to continue to attend school, but these attempts would often end
with me having a severe panic attack. This constant failure to attend school sent me into a bout of
depression. All of these factors led to the decision for me to be put into home hospital, where I
would do all my schoolwork at home, and work with a teacher who came to my house for an hour
each day. This would allow me to focus on receiving professional help with my anxiety. I met with a

General Positivism And The Interpretive Paradigm
Part 1: Purpose
a)Social Science Research Paradigm
The social science paradigm also known as Post positivism consists of testing hypothesis and
research questions that are developed through reasoning. This is done through measurements and
observation. Social scientists aspire to science and they seek to study human behaviour, interaction
and thought in an organized way; which we can then measure, generalize and replicate. Like any
research, post positivism needs to be backed up by evidence. When a social science research sets out
a research project, it is their goal to find evidence that can either agree or disagree with the
hypothesis or theories. Post positivism, compared to positivism allows more interaction with the
participants of the research project and seeks to highlight the relationship between universal
properties between the variables. The best way to understand post positivism is by comparing it to
positivism and the interpretive paradigm. Compared to positivism, post positivism is more tolerant
for value based information, however is not focused on qualitative information like the interpretive
paradigm, instead the research is mainly focused on quantitative data.

Dirty War Of Argentina Research Paper
Eva Richter
Period 7

In Argentina, under the dictatorship of Jorge Rafael Videla, the country experienced many
disappearances in the 1970s (Gardner). This was considered the Dirty War of Argentina which was a
seven year war between the Argentine government and political dissidents in Argentina ( Military. ).
Over 30,000 Argentines, mostly innocent people, disappeared, many of which were children aged
18 years or younger. Many families lost their children and loved ones. It seriously affected all of
Argentina, making a dent in their population (Goldman). The Dirty War of Argentina began in 1973
when the Argentine military took over the government. Jorge Rafael Videla was selected by the
military regime to become the dictator. Anyone who
Causes Of The Lusitania Disaster
Lusitania Disaster On May 1, 1915, the British passenger ship Lusitania left the port of New York
bound for Liverpool, England. On board were 1,962 passengers and crew, including 139 of which
were Americans. Less than a week later on May 7, 1915, the Lusitania was attacked and sunk
without warning by a German submarine (U boat) off the coast of Ireland. Under the discretion of
the German U boat commander, Lieutenant Walter Schwieger, the Lusitania was sunk based on the
assumption that the ship was carrying war supplies for the United Kingdom (In harm s way, 2002).
In total 1,198 lives were lost, including 127 Americans, 79 were children including 39 infants under
the age of two years. Just 200 corpses were recovered from the sea while... Show more content on

On august 29, 2005 Hurricane Katrina made landfall along the United States gulf coast as a category
3 on the Saffir Simpson Hurricane scale. The 400 mile wide storm brought heavy rains and winds
in excess of 140 miles per hour to states along the gulf coast. The widespread devastation resulted
in thousands of people in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama to be displaced from their homes,
and experts estimate that Katrina caused more than $100 billion in damage (History.com). While
the storm did cause significant damage, the primary cause of most of the devastation was the
result of levees along the Inner Harbor Navigational Canal being breeched. With an average
elevation of roughly two feet below sea level, the city of New Orleans suffered major devastation
from flooding once the waters breeched the levees and walls; by some estimates more than 80%
of the city was flooded. According to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), there
were 1,833 deaths attributed to the storm both directly and indirectly (FEMA.gov). The long term
impacts of Hurricane Katrina are still to be known. Now more than ten years later the city of
New Orleans and its residents continue to feel the effects of the devastating storm. The population
of New Orleans fell from 484,674 before Katrina (April 2000) to an estimated 230,172 after Katrina
(July 2006) a decrease of 254,502 people and a loss of over half of the city s population. By July of
2014, the population was back up to 384,320 (Plyer,

Past, Present and Future Trends in the Use of Computers in Fisheries Research
Bernard A. Megrey and Erlend Moksness

I think it s fair to say that personal computers have become the most empowering tool we ve ever
created. They re tools of communication, they re tools of creativity, and they can be shaped by their
user. Bill Gates, Co founder, Microsoft Corporation Long before Apple, one of our engineers came to
me with the suggestion that Intel ought to build a computer for the home. And I asked him, What the

Our aim is to provide critical reviews on the latest, most significant developments in selected topic
areas that are at the cutting edge of the application of computers in fisheries and their application to
the conservation and management of aquatic resources. In many cases, these are the same authors
who contributed to the first edition, so the decade of perspective they provide is unique and
insightful. Many of the topics in this book cover areas that were predicted in 1989 to be important
in the future (Walters 1989) and continue to be at the forefront of applications that drive our science
forward: image processing, stock assessment, simulation and games, and networking. The chapters
that follow update these areas as well as introduce several new chapter topic areas. While we
recognize the challenge of attempting to present up to date information given the rapid pace of
change in computers and the long time lines for publishing books, we hope that the chapters in this
book taken together, can be valuable where they suggest emerging trends and future directions that
impact the role computers are likely to serve in fisheries research.

Controversial Issues In America
Today in America there are many huge controversial issues such as gun control, legalization of
marijuana, pro life or pro choice and so much more. These arguments are well known and a lot of
people make a stance in what they think on the situation. The article in the New York Times,
Abortion and Punishment by Katha Pollitt speaks about a comment Donald Trump has made and
gives her opinion on the role abortionhas in America in the past and present time. Therefore, women
do not have many rights when it comes to abortion even though it is legalized but some states may
try to shut down clinics. Also, it has always been a risky topic in the United States including many
other countries. All in all, Pollitt speaks about views of abortion and... Show more content on

Explaining that if murder is serious in the court system in America, even when it is children,
where an embryo is considered as one according to those who are anti abortion. Then terminating
a pregnancy is called to be killing a child, so should it be considered as murder then? Basically
where women would be imprisoned for a crime, they have committed. Creating prisons to be
populated with females where in a political point of view looks to be an outrageous act to enforce.
But, it is considered that women does not have a clear conscience in making a choice for the child.
Stating that an unplanned pregnancy while in school, having too many kids, health issues or being
in a inadequate relationship where the woman is trying to terminate the pregnancy is a choice she
does not know what is best. Moreover, Pollitt uses evidence of abortion cases where they went after
women since anti abortions says that the law has not before Roe v. Wade. As a result, it has been
known back in the day women involuntarily stayed pregnant by order. If the woman did not want to
follow the rules then she can look for illegal medical help. Resulting in an investigation by the
authorities and going to court. Following that, Pollitt mentions a case in Indiana that occurred not to
long ago where a woman named Purvi Patel, did an illegal self abortion,
The Love Poem John Frederick Nims
The poem love poem is by John Frederick Nims it is a one hundred and seventeen word poem
with six verses of four lines in each, the second and also fourth lines rhyme with each other. This
poem is very descriptive and has a lot of meaning in it just by the words this poet chooses to use
and also in his style of writing. The first three words of this poem he was either speaking or
addressing to his beloved one it said My clumsiest dear . We quickly learn that this is the woman
he loves and that she nearly breaks everything she comes across, her hands wreak disasters

Water Works By Cynthia Barnett
In Los Angeles, at least 20% of fishes died from stormwater runoff. Who s next? Repeatedly,
stormwater runoff has indicated its negative consequences. From the bacteria in feces, to the
chemical waste, stormwater has been made a hazard to all life on earth. Platypi, fish, frogs, and
other marine life are in an immediate danger by the pollution. The pollution consisted of fecal
coliforms and fecal streptococci, which are bacterias in organism waste. In addition, there s lawn
pesticides, and motor oils that are deadly. Water inundates humankind, making this an unavoidable
conflict. However, creative solutions of managing the runoff has been proved successful. The
solution appears as a green infrastructure, defined as a network system that helps manage water, or in
this case, stormwaterrunoff. On the other hand, there has been recommendations of using public
awareness as a solution, but this is only a key factor to a larger concept. In her article, Water Works
Cynthia Barnett conveys how using these creative solutions such as the green infrastructure, is
considerably more beneficial than the traditional ways of reducing water all together. She suggests
that living differently with water, compared to reducing water, will benefit the nation greatly in their
water dilemma. In addition, she believes that the pollution of stormwater harms Pacific killer whales,
coho, and salmon. In agreement, I also believe that the pollution threatens the marine life. Hence, the

Hitler was not very powerful back then before he joined the German army. This made him very
popular. So people he met from the German army wanted him to join and take over as chancellor of
Germany. When he got what he wanted he was showing this leadership to Germany with the help of
the Nazi clan.
Exercise of power
Hitler s source of power was being the chancellor of Germany and the leader of the Nazi part. Hitler
went through a lot of things before he got to these positions. He has to prove that he was doing
all the good stuff for the Germany and the whole world but he actually wasn t. He wanted to be

The Killer At Thurston High
I decided to view the episode, The Killer at Thurston High on Frontline, where we follow the life
of Kip Kinkel and how he came to shoot and kill both his parents and two students and injure 25
others. It begins with William Kinkel and Faith Zuranski, who give birth to Kip s older sister,
Kristin and then himself, named Kipland. His parents were both Spanish teachers and very
respected within the community. Their daughter, Kristin, describes them as nonviolent but with
high expectations for their children. As Kip began school, he struggled with learning and was
held back in the first grade. Turns out in the third or fourth grade, Kinkel was diagnosed with
dyslexia, which made writing and reading more difficult for him. His sister and friends explain
how Kip felt frustrated with being separated from friends when held back, and how he felt like a
disappointment to his parents. As he grew older he began to be bullied in school. He became
interested in martial arts, and against their ideals, his parents enrolled him in karate. Kip excelled at
this but instead of calming him, he began to hang with the tough crowd and began getting into
trouble with the law. Around this time, Kip was fascinated with explosives, bombs, and guns. In
order to appease him, this parents let him go online and bought him various bb guns, rifles, and
handguns in order to connect with him. William Kinkel tried to set up ground rules surrounding the
weapons, and attempted to connect with Kip by going
