widow wife. In the poem a farmer’s wife was complaining about his act of committing suicide. She was
worried about her future life.
Farmer’s wife call her husband virtuous and she as poor sinner because she has to face all the problems. The
farmer committed suicide by taking poison. His cotton crop has worm eaten and destroyed. His debt
remained, He was unable to bend his head and stretch his hands out in front of the creditors. But Farmer’s
wife born with head bent and stretch her hands. She was born with difficulties. Many times she was escaped
from death, her husband abused her, reviled her and kicked her when he was drunk. But she thought he was a
man.
