Strength In Warriors Don T Cry
How do people all over the world get through challenges? A good portion of them stay strong in the
face of trials and difficulties. For example, Melba Pattillo Beals, the author of Warriors Don t Cry,
used her Grandma s advice to stay strong and not let the segregationists get to her. Another individual
is Winston Churchill, the author of Blood, Toil, Tears, and Sweat , used strength in his speech to
show that the British need to be prepared to fight if they want to defeat Germany. Others feel that
taking things for granted will help one get through struggles. Although, staying strong is the best
way to respond to conflict because one s overall healthcan be at a healthy level, the enemy s will to
keep fighting can be suppressed, and strength... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, what is our aim? I can answer in one word. It is victory. Victory at all costs Victory
in spite of all terrors Victory, however long and hard the road may be, for without victory there is
no survival (Churchill). This courage shown by Churchill was an excellent way to motivate his
fellow Brits for battle against Germany. Furthermore, showing no signs of fear will make the others
want to do the same because people will see others doing one thing which makes them feel the need
to follow with the trend. He also claims, No survival for the British Empire, no survival for all that
the British Empire has stood for, no survival for the urge, the impulse of the ages, that mankind
shall move forward toward his goal (Churchill). By laying the cards out on the table, Churchill has
managed to keep his comrades courageous in the face of perilous times. Simplifying and showing
what could become of Britain has given the British the will to fight on instead of sugarcoating the
truth. The author from The Diary of Anne Frank: the Play writes, Dussel: Thank you, Anne!
Thank you! Mr. Van Daan: A real Hanukkah! Mrs. Van Daan: Wasn t it cute of her? Mrs. Frank: I
don t know when she did it. Margot: I love my present (Hackett/Goodrich). People were getting on
each other s nerves, but one person can get everyone out of the gutter. This quote shows how even
in the face of rough times, strength, and positivity can go a long way to cheer up everybody that is
in the vicinity of that courageous
Questions On Fice Staff
Task 3: (a)Discuss how and why the office staff might feel uncomfortable if the actual values were
outside the range of acceptable values identified in Task 1. The staff may feel uncomfortable with
the heat if it is outside the recommended values which are 21 23°C (69 73°F).The reason for this
is that if they are too warm when working in an office they may feel that they are beginning to
sweat more which can make it difficult for them to concentrate when carrying out their work
because they are more concerned in trying to cool themselves down to a comfortable temperature.
The office building can be cooled down by opening windows and doors. A reason they may feel
to warm is that they may be wearing extra or perhaps thicker clothing which can lead to an
increase in their body temperature as less heat can escape from their bodies. If this is the case
they can take off the thick clothing to help cool themselves down. Computers generating heat can
also increase the temperature of the office. The staff may also feel too cold in the workplace. If
this is the case they may feel very uncomfortable when working and they could also find it hard to
concentrate. The reason the office may be so cold is that a window may be open which allows
the cold air from outside to pass through the office creating a cold atmosphere within the office.
The need for good insulation of rooms is very important in an office because it will mean less heat
can escape from the room and on cold winter days
Half The Sky By Nicholas Kristof
Can you imagine being sold to someone that consistently beats you every day and also makes you
sell your body for money that you don t even get too keep. In Half the Sky , the author Nicholas
Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn gives the readers a glimpse of the oppression of women worldwide.
Half the Sky is one of the most important books I have ever read. I would highly recommend this
book to everyone. The first three pages I read already had me in tears. What makes this book so
outstanding to me was reading and learning about all these different women and girls that has
suffered in a way I didn t think people were doing. Some of the stories were dealt with sex
trafficking, maternal death, attacks on women, and not sending girls to school because of income.
But the moving portrayals of the survivors improve the issues. Many of these survivors are
healthy and doing very well. I never thought most of these stories that was in the book was going
on in the world. First, in the beginning of the book, the authors sees the treatment of women as the
issue of today s Century. She stress that women oppression is the major issue of today s Century.
What was very interesting was how she compared the oppression of women to slavery. At first I was
unsure and disagreed with that statement. But after I read the first two stories, I changed my mind
and agreed 100 percent with the authors. Yes women inequality is the major issue of this century.
The only difference between slavery and women
Explain How The Invention Of The Light Bulb Changed Life...
The main idea of this article is that Nicholas Carr believed that the invention of the light bulb
changed life as they knew it. Carr said that the fire was the focal point of the house where the
families would gather in the evenings to share time. He explained that when the lightbulb was
invented the families spent more times in their own rooms studying, reading, or working alone. In
1944 the germans forced their people to use candles instead of lightbulbs during the nightly air raids
because the weak light of the candles were able to hide them better. So, essentially the light bulbs
were putting the German people in more danger.

The author communicates his idea of the light bulb changing the way we lived in a very effective
way by giving
History And History Of Firearms
HISTORY OF FIREARMS
Firstly, for a clear understanding the history of firearms is extensively complicated and the actual
fact is that the scientific approach was often discovered well before they had a practical use.
The discovery of gunpowder by the Chinese over a thousand years ago led to the evolution of
firearms though it was predominantly used in firecrackers and nothing more besides in some
weapons for military purpose. Gunpowder is commonly made up of Charcoal, Sulphur and
Saltpetre( Potassium Nitrate). The lead to gunpowder s affluence is that the gunpowder discharges
it s energy very rapidly and this prompt expansion in the encircled space of a metal tube can be used
to operate a projectile at an excessive speed in a designated direction.
Then slowly and steadily the firing mechanisms also advanced. There came Matchlock after which
came the Wheellock in the early 16th century. Afterwards in the 17th century Flintlock was
discovered followed by which Percussion came in to existence. After this the next phase in the
development of firing mechanism included the inventors merging various elements including the
bullet, powercharge, and primer, all of them in one single cartridge which could be launched
instantly in to the chamber.
Also these armaments had a smooth bore with a circular lead ball and the accuracy and range of
both were limited. Later on the concern of accuracy was solved to a limited extent with the
introduction of a longer bore or a longer metal tube. It
The Court Of Session On The Ground Of Dr Mclellan
3.4. Montgomery

This case was initially brought to the Court of Session on the ground that Dr McLellan had been
negligent in failing to inform Mrs Montgomery of the abnormalities; substantial risk of shoulder
dystocia and the alternative option of giving birth by a caesarean section. The argument put forth by
Mrs Montgomery was that had she been informed of these facts she would have opted to give birth
by undergoing a caesarean section. Her claim was rejected on both grounds in 2010 by the Inner and
in 2013 by the Outer House Court of Session. The factor which significantly influenced this
decision was that the argument put forth by the Dr McLellan, who claimed that most women in a
similar situation would not choose to undergo a caesarean section was supported by medical
expert evidence. The approach laid down in Sidaway v Board of Governors of the Bethlem Royal
Hospital and the Maudsley Hospital was followed and the Bolam test was applied to rule that non
disclosure of the 9 10% risk was not negligent.

It appears that the Court of Session declined to follow the ruling in the recent case of Jones v North
West Strategic Health Authority where based on similar facts the risk of shoulder dystocia was
perceived as sufficiently serious for the expectant mother to be informed of. However, it appears that
the Supreme Court did follow this approach to uphold that the risk of shoulder dystocia was
significant, thus Mrs Montgomery ought to have been informed of the risk.

Summary
This article titled Peer Assisted Study Sessions and Student Performance: The Role of Academic
Engagement, Student Identity, and Statistics Self Efficacy is written by three PhD candidates at
Griffith University who are conducting a study on new freshman students and their transition. This
study was based on the quantitative constructivist approach. It was done using both cross sectional
and longitudinal design to determine the effects of Peer Assisted Study Sessions (PASS) on student
performance outcomes.
PASS is a voluntary student lead preventative intervention for difficult and demanding tertiary
courses. The authors demonstrated the impact of the relationship between peer academic
engagement and its effects on student s identity, attendance and their belief of self efficacy. The
outcome of their findings demonstrated that students who participated in the PASS study had
increased self efficacy and increased confidence in their performance academically, in comparison to
their first semester of college. The authors explained that there were limitations the results of their
cross sectional design did not accurately reflect the full effects those who participated in the PASS
study. Other participants such as tutorials and lectures were not included and therefore it was
recommended further exploration using the longitudinal framework.

Rapid Modernisation Of Armed Forces
There are a variety of reasons for the rapid modernisation of armed forces in the Southeast Asia
region interstate and regional tensions exist within Southeast Asia and interactive military
programmes have developed as a result, and there has been a rapid build up of military capabilities.
Additionally, there has been advances in technology, creating a need for states to modernise their
armed forces to be able to compete and military advancement in the region has contributed to the
security dilemma in Southeast Asia, leading to further arms build up. Most importantly, there is
evidence of the beginnings of an arms race in Southeast Asia, which also explains the modernisation
of armed forces. Thus, the reasons for the rapid modernisation of armed forces in the Southeast Asia
region are the consequences of interstate and regional tensions, technological advancement, the
growing security dilemma and the beginning of an arms race.
Interstate and Regional Tensions
Throughout Southeast Asia, there are a number of relationships between state actors that are marked
by mutual distrust, and these bilateral relationships fuel the arms race within Asia due to security
concerns. These distrustful relationships between nations have their root causes in historical
animosities, racial and religious divisions or competition for influence and resources (Richardson
1990: 24). Problematic relations in the region include, and are not limited to: North and South Korea,
Taiwan and China,
