I choose this topic as it indirectly affects the company that I work for, as we are in the aftermarket
truck accessories business. This report will concentrate on two of the three major auto makers in
North America. The third company has already filed chapter 11 in the bankruptcy court in New
York, Chrysler LLC. At the onset of 2009 all three of the auto makers were in very poor financial
positions; that is when the stimulus packages were introduced by the U.S. president Mr. Barrack
Obama. Chrysler LLC was the first to accept the stimulus package with General Motors not far
behind. Ford Motor Company still has not accepted any stimulus money from the U.S. Government.
What is so different between General Motors and Ford that one had to get help from the government
and the other did not? The differences in product and financial strategies along with listening to what
the customers want could be some of the major differences between the two surviving companies.

Porter s Five Forces Analysis

Michael Porter identified five forces that influence an industry. These forces are:
1.Degree of rivalry,
2.Threat of substitutes,
3.Barriers to entry,
4.Bargaining power of customers, and
5.Bargaining power of suppliers.
Like other industries operating under free market, capitalistic systems, viewing the automotive
industry through the lens of Porter s five
Physical Therapist Activity Analysis
The activity this week is based on value and ethics. We chose our team this week and our team was
assigned to role play based on SBAR. Our team divided ourselves into different healthcare
professionals to effectively communicated and facilitated our patient. I was given the part of being a
Physical Therapist and had to evaluate and recommend proper therapyto my patient. I believe I was
successful in my evaluation and recommendation based on my knowledge of a Physical Therapist.
I thought the activity was confusing. I was giving the part of a Physical Therapist and I did not
know how to act as a true Physical Therapist. I feel out of place and just tried my best to
communicate as one would. I felt that my team performed really well with their
Essay on comparing alexander II and alexander III
Compare and contrast the social and economic policies of Alexander II (1855 81) and Alexander III
(1881 94) of Russia.
Alexander II and Alexander III were both Tsars of Russia and they both believed in the divine
will to rule the people. However Alexander II is said to be more liberal than Alexander III though
they were both conservative in one way or the other in their social and economic policies because
they both wanted to remain with the power over the people. Alexander II was more relaxed in his
polices Great Reformer and Alexander III was more strict great reactionary . After the defeat in the
Crimean defeat Alexander II introduced very many reforms in Russia because he had seen how
backward Russia was and how all the other ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Alexander II gave poor ignored people more freedom while Alexander III took away their freedom.
Alexander II was more of a forgiving Tsar which made him very social when he forgave a
revolutionary group when he came to power and did not execute them while Alexander III was
more of a less forgiving Tsar as when he immediately got into power he executed Sofia and the
other revolution lists that had assassinated his father. Therefore Alexander II was a more lenient and
tolerant Tsar while Alexander III was more of a harsh and action taking Tsar.
During Alexander II reign he concentrated on exposing Russia to the outside world therefore he
built a railway line. During this period too there was some though very little reform in the
government s taxation policies which still was a heavy burden for the peasants because they still
had to pay poll tax which was increased by 80% during his reign while Alexander III abolished the
poll tax and also created the
Critical Thinking Reflection
W233 helped shape my writing and critical thinking by reframing my concept of what constitutes a
good piece of writing. Prior to this course, I thought that a good paper consisted of an argument
supported with solid word choice and consistent organization throughout to guide the reader through
each paragraph. My thoughts at this time were more focused the what of an argument, but I learned
that in order to write a great paperespecially one that involves mediating an argument it is equally
important to focus on the how and why of the argument. By this I mean that explaining a point of
view on an issue does not result in good argumentation or negotiation, but instead fully understanding
how the benefits and drawbacks affect all facets... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
My best peer reviews came on this paper because they provided me with feedback the gave me
some good pointers and made me more confident in my ability to negotiate an argument effectively.
In addition to the negotiation/mediation paper, I felt very confident in my abstract because it
allowed me to use some of my scientific and technical writing skills, which I would argue are rather
strong skills given my background as a biology major. Looking at some of my other works, my
rhetorical analyses both allowed me to dive into the beef of my topic a little bit more. However,
looking back, my second rhetorical analysis was one of my weaker writings and I provided a better
analysis in my first rhetorical analysis. Although I do not feel quite as confident in the second
rhetorical analysis, both writings improved my analytical writing skills, and both assignments
along with the annotated bibliography were paramount in helping me understand how to approach
my paper. Out of all of papers I wrote in this class, my worst paper was the reflection. The
reflection paper prompt allowed me to write a very open ended paper; no strict guidelines (other
than usual length and formatting requirements) limited my possibilities of what to write. In this
regard, I would suggest that writing this paper was a pretty simple task. However, at times I found it
difficult to escape beyond the surface of my discussion. It took more concentration to break through
The Schisms Of The Catholic Church
The schisms of the Catholic Church is instrumental in creating a platform that sparks the
Reformation and eventually establishes the Protestant Church. Because of the stronghold
Christianity has and its ability to permeate within the confines of the Roman Empire, leaders decide
to befriend Christians and seek their support. With this in mind, believers are tolerated and
eventually, Theodosius I make Christianitythe state religion of the Empire and forbids the worship of
pagan gods. After Theodosius rule the Empire split, but the church maintains its relevance in both
the West and the East (Chase, Jacob, Jacob, Von Laue, 2013, p. 172).
Even though the Roman Empire in the West is captured by Germanic tribes, the East flourishes.

Advantages Of Portfolio Optimization
Robust Optimization Approach to Multi Period Portfolio Selection Progress Report

Introduction
Investors always seek for a way that they can get back greatest return while enjoying minimized
risk. Instead of investing in a single asset, holding a portfolio is obviously less risky. However, how
to select the best portfolio among tens of thousands of assets in today s financial market? The
stringent need of investors promote the raising of modern portfolio theory. In 1952, Harry
Markowitz [1] established the fundamental model of modern portfolio theory: the Markowitz
model, also called the mean variance model. This model aimed to achieve a tradeoff between the
expected return and the risk of return. As shown in Figure 1, among all efficient portfolios, the
efficient frontier consisted of all those with highest return at each given risk level. C_1,C_2,and C_3
were the investors indifference curves which showed that traders prefer portfolios with high return
or low risk. The tangent point R of the highest indifference curve and the efficient frontier gave the
optimized portfolio. Figure 1: Efficient Portfolio and Trader s Indifference Curve in ... Show more

One direction among them is the robust portfolio optimization. It was carried out to compensate the
instability and sensitivity of the classical optimal model due to the uncertainty of the coefficients of
variables. This paper aims to use the robust optimization techniques to take input uncertainties into
consideration. Moreover, the model achieved should be applicable to multi period portfolio selection
problems. In the next section, previous studies on this topic were reviewed. The following section
introduced the method used to get the final result. Section 4 discussed the achievement until now
and the problems that have arisen. The final section summarized the current research progress and
possible direction in

The Yellow Birds By Kevin Powers
Athletes train for countless hours in hopes to help their teams win games, but sometimes they can t
always come out on top. Students put in long hours studying for tests attempting to earn a good
grade. There are times where that effort is rewarded with a poor grade. Gifts are bought with the
idea that whoever is receiving the present is going to love it, but the buyer realizes that they messed
up because the gift is absolutely hated. These are examples of instances where people were trying to
do good things but ultimately failed. In the novel, The Yellow Birds by Kevin Powers you see
characters that have the intent to do good, but come up short and fail. Everybody has instances
throughout their lives where they will try extremely hard, but fail in the end. A lot of these instances
may even be just the smallest things, but when they happen it is never a good feeling. You will get
feelings of disappointment, and anger, but the problems that occur in Kevin Power s book are much
more than that. The book The Yellow Birds is a fictional story, but the thingthat makes it so good is
that the author was in the warhimself. Even though this great story is made up, Kevin Powers
definitely had an advantage on explaining how powerful the war really was on people. What was
written in the book could be very similar to things he had experienced himself while he served our
country. Just by reading his fight scenes he had written about, you can tell he knew what he was
