Comparing Alice s Adventures in Wonderland, by Lewis...
Growth is inevitable and the most anticipated quest of man. It is a never ending quest to evolve,
fuelled by the constant hope for survival. Once natural growth halts, man s focus shifts to the growth
within. The coming of age, associates itself with this transformation from child to man, the step of
letting go of childish ways and moving on to more mature things. The need for such a dramatic
transformation is questioned by Miguel de Cervantesand Lewis Carroll in their texts, Don Quixote
and Alice s Adventures in Wonderland. While the texts follow two contrasting characters, they are
brought together by the theme of fantasy. Cervantes Don Quixote is an old gentleman of noble
lineage who becomes tired of the monotony and the lack of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

[is] Dorotea in disguise, it does not fit into Quixote s frame of thinking and is therefore rejected,
Can you be in your right mind? This irony is used by Cervantes to introduce the reader to the
issue of perspective. In this world there are two paradigms which are followed: one is to see the
world through the fantastical and idealistic madness of Quixote, and the other is to view it through
the realism adopted by the other characters of the text. Quixote s madness creates a world where
everything is taken at face value, not allowing the idea of deception to exist. When the issue of
deception arises, he formulates alternate explanations which are in keeping with his perspective,
stating that ...everything that happens in this place is brought about by enchantment. The alternate
view which is held by most of the other players is that, anyone could see when he said that those
windmills were giants, and those friars mules were dromedaries and those flock of sheep were
enemy armies . The hyperbolic images in Sancho s sarcasm give the reader an insight into the sheer
vastness of Quixote s generalisation of his belief. It is Quixote s differing school of thought which
Cervantes uses to establish his alienation from the sanity of the constructed world. Contrastingly, In
Alice s Adventures in Wonderland, Alice is the voice of sanity in the phantasmagorical setting of
Wonderland. However, this also
I Am A Traditional Law School Applicant
I am not a traditional law school applicant. I am a 33 year old Hispanic mother of three boys, aged
fourteen, eleven, and ten. I am a first generation born U.S. citizen as my mother immigrated to
the United States from a war torn El Salvador in 1979 when a family friend smuggled her out of
the country. They fled from atrocities committed by the Salvadorian military led government. My
father emigrated from Argentina in the 1960 s evading social and political unrest and in search
of a better economic future. My parents divorced in 1984, leaving my then four year old brother
and my two year old self to be raised in a single parent home spearheaded by my mother. I have
never met a stronger or more hardworking woman. Having only completed the eight grade and
not speaking any English my mother cleaned houses and would babysit for a living. Work was a
part of our lives. Most of my childhood memories are centered on accompanying my mother to
work. By the age of nine, I could comfortably translate for my mother as I could clean a house and
help care for a child. At the age of fourteen I as working as a weekend babysitter myself. As a child

yearning to help. When young, the best way I could help was by means of my brother. He was not
properly diagnosed or treated due to limited resources at the time. Yet, I took it upon myself to look
after him. I would ensure my brother ate, would be ready
Personal Conduct In The NFL, National Football League
Not Me Personal conduct in the NFL, National Football League, is an issue that is starting to
spiral out of control. Late September, 2014, the league [had] suspended at least 20 players for
actions including assault, substance abuse and use of performance enhancing drugs (White); this
was only a few weeks into the regular season of play for the league. The NFL has grown
enormously since it was founded on August 20, 1920 in Canton, Ohio. But, this league has become
more and more lenient with its playersand personnel. Many professional athletes in the NFL receive
special treatment regardless of their improper actions, thus allowing them to elude the consequences
and in turn setting a misleading example for their young fans. In order... Show more content on

The players and teams receive too much leeway when they are involved with crimes or misconducts.
They have a distorted view of themselves (White) which induces them to overvalue their abilities
and are proud and condescending when relating to others (White). The league is responsible for
investigating and taking action against the players and teams that do not follow the NFL Personal
Conduct Policy which the league describes as avoiding conduct detrimental to the integrity of and
public confidence in the National Football League (ESPN). This is required to be accepted by all
workers in the NFL: players, general managers, coaches, owners, sideline/team employees, and
even game officials. Roger Goodell, because of his title and job description, is delegated to be the
the judge and the jury in individual cases (Pease). This responsibility he has is not a wise way of
handling cases because there needs to be some sort of committee involved in order to give a

Research Paper On Louisiana Purchase
The Purchase of Louisiana

The Purchase of Louisiana happened in 1803, and it was one of the most important events in the
United States. In 1803, The United Stated purchased more than 529,911,680 acres (2144476 square
kilometers) of land from France at the price of three cents per acre. The land area involved is 22.3
percent of the land in the United States today, roughly the size of the original U.S. territory at that
time. After Thomas Jefferson became the president of America, the Mississippi River became an
important means of transportation to the American Appalachian mountains, and New Orleans was
the hub of the river. On October 27, 1795, after Spain signed Pinkeye s Treaty, American

Separation of Chlorophyll a, Chlorophyll B, and Beta...
Abstract
Pigments extracted from different greens have different polarities and may be different colors.
Mixed pigments can be separated using chromatography paper. Chromatography paper is able to
separate mixed pigments due to their polarity and solubility. Pigments of chlorophyll a, chlorophyll b
and beta carotene will be separated on chromatography paper because each has its own polarity and
solubility, which results in different distance traveled up the paper. Beta carotene is non polar so it
travels the highest distance, followed by chlorophyll a. Chlorophyll b is the most polar; therefore, it
travels the shortest distance. The separated pigments on the chromatography paper can be eluted in
acetone and absorbance spectrum is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Beta carotene is orange, and its graph created by spectrophotometer shows that it mostly absorbs
blue and green light and reflects orange.

Discussion
During the separation of the pigments by chromatography paper, chlorophyll b traveled the shortest
distance, chlorophyll a went above it, and the highest went beta carotene. This

iii. When the name of a company is downgraded in such a manner, people will tend to avoid
buying products from the company. This is because any products from the company will be
associated with obesity. Even if the company will come up with new products, it will be hard for
people to believe that they will be good. Hence this will reduce the sales of the company.

Brabantio s Expectations Of Women In Othello By William...
Othello is a tragedy written by William shakespeare during the 1600 s which is known as the
Elizabethan Era. Society during this period had certain standards that all citizens were expected to
follow. Order and obedience were a crucial part of women s lives at this time. Women had little
freedom in what they could do and were expected to listen to men. In the play Othello, Shakespeare
uses Brabantio, Iagoand Desdemonato describe the expectations of women during the Elizabethan
Era. In Act I Scene III Shakespeare uses Brabantio s character to depict a woman s inability to have
the freedom to speech. When first informed of his daughters situation, Brabantio immediately
assumes that sorcery is involved rather than the free will of Desdemona. By not approaching his own
daughter first and asking for her explanation, it suggest that Brabantio simply does not... Show more

In scene II while mentioning Othello s marriage to Cassio, Iago describes the relationship he to
night hath boarded a land crack/If it prove lawful prize, he s made for ever (I.ii.50 51). Iago
compares Desdemona to a land crack in order to portray Desdemona s great wealth that she comes
from. Marrying Desdemona means that Othello too will inherit a large amount of her money and
he will live the rest of his life wealthy as Iago states. Shakespeare shows a significant effect that
occurs to women like Desdemona when they become married. Women and men married based on
social status, and power during the Elizabethan Era. However Othello does not posses the same
amount of wealth and power that Desdemona derives from. When women become married they
are expected to give up all of their possessions to their husband. Othello marrying Desdemona
means he not only gains her wealth, but power as well making him more important. Shakespeare
uses Iago s analogy of Desdemona as a way describe this process of
The Right Of Free Speech And Freedom Of Press
The right many Americans take for granted every day is the ability to speak to one another and to
express their opinions through verbal and non verbal means of communication. The First
Amendment provides the right of free speech and freedom of press to the people. The Bill of
Rights, also known as the first 10 amendments to the Constitution went into effect on Dec. 15,
1791, when the state of Virginia ratified it, giving the bill the majority of ratifying states required
to protect citizens from the power of the federal government. One must ask, why would such a
right need to be thought about for so long before enacting it for the people? Why has this never
been considered to be a universal right that every man and woman should have across the world?
Historically, in the development of Western Civilization and prior to the colonization of the Eastern
states by the British Monarchy, the British colonies were not even states yet, let alone united.
Neighboring countries Canada and Mexico were variously governed by the French Canadians,
where the French influence can be felt to this day, in places from Quebec to Montreal, by the
Spaniards in California, and the British in what is now British Columbia. Parts of California and
Texas were also under Spanish and Mexican occupation. What England, France, and Spain had in
common were monarchies as governments, with the King or Queen conflated with the Church as
ordained by God. The common people were peasants in a feudal
