According to National Geographic, global warming may have catastrophic effects. One of these consequences is the

if this keeps up. Aside from this, global warming also causes severe heat waves in North America. According to reports,
at least 225 people had died due to heat waves. An erratic weather pattern is another undesirable effect of global

reason, the next generation of speakers will never have the chance to learn the language.
For items 27-29, read an excerpt from “How to Make it in College Now That You’re Here” by Brian O’Keeney.
How Can I Keep Up with All My Responsibilities Without Going Crazy
You’ve got a class schedule. You’re supposed to study. You’ve got a family you’ve got a husband, wife, boyfriend, and
child you’ve got a job. How are you possibly going to cover all the bases in your life and maintain your sanity? This is
one of the toughest problems students face. Even if they start semester with the best of intentions, they eventually find
themselves tearing their hair out trying to do everything they’re supposed to do. Believe it or not, though, it is possible
to meet all the responsibilities. And you don’t have to turn into a hermit or give up your loved ones to do it.
The secret here is to organize your time. But don’t you sit around half the semester planning to get everything together
soon. Before you know it, you’ll be confronted with midterms papers, family and work all at once. Don’t let yourself
reach that breaking point. Instead, try these three tactics:
Prepare a monthly calendar: markdown due dates for papers and projects. Circle test and exam days.
Make up a study schedule: make up a sheet listing the days and hours of the week. Fill in your work and class hours
first. Then try to block out some study hours. Schedule study hours for your hardest classes for the times when you feel
most energetic. Leave blocks of free time, too. You won’t be any good to yourself is if you don’t relax and pack in the
studying once in a while.
Use to “do-list”: once a week (or every day if you want to), write a list of what you have to do. The list is that it seems
to tame all the stray “I have to” thoughts that nag at your mind. After you finish something on the list, cross it off. Get
the important things done first. The second everything you don’t finish can simply move moved to your next “to-do”
list.
