PreliminaryRemark
TheMiniSAPBasisSystemisdeliveredontwoCDs.TheKERNELCDcontainsthefilesfortheKernelandtheFrontend(SAPGUI).TheDATACDcontainsthe compressedcontentsoftheSAPdatabase. YouinstallthecomponentsoftheSAPSystemintwosteps.Firstyouinstalltheapplicationserverandthedatabasesystemincludingthedatabasedata.Thenyou installtheFrontend(SAPGUI).YouonlyneedtoinstalltheSAPGUIifyoudonothavea4.6DSAPGUIonyourPC. Theinstallationis,forthemostpart,selfexplanatory.WhenyouinserttheKERNELCDintotheCDdrive,anHTMLfileisautomaticallyopenedthatdisplaysa summaryofthisinstallationguideandreferencestoadditionalinformation.Ifthisdoesnothappen,openthefile<CDdrive>:\mini.htmintherootdirectoryonthe CD. IfyouarepromptedtorestartthePCafterasuccessfulconfiguration,dosoandthencontinuewith ResumeInstallationintheHTMLfileor<CD drive>:\resume_setup.bat 3. Aftertheapplicationserverandthedatabasehavebeeninstalled,theStartSAPMBSiconforstartingtheSAPSystemappearsonthedesktop.Anewprogram group,MiniSAPBasis,containsalltheremainingcalls.IfyoueveruninstalltheSAPSystem,onlydosousingUninstallSAPMBSinthisprogramgroup.

InstallingtheSAPGUI(Frontend)
Ifyouhavenotyetinstalleda4.6DSAPGUIonyourPC,youcandosousingtheKERNELCD.IfyouhaveanolderSAPGUIonyourPC,werecommendthatyou firstuninstallitandthenrestartthePC. 1.
