Early Bird

Congratulations to Rainbow class for being the winner of our Early Bird.

House Points Children from Reception to Year Six are divided into four houses, London
Eye, Royal Festival Hall, Big Ben and Waterloo Bridge. This system was set up some years ago to reward good behaviour. Congratulations to the children in the house Big Ben who gained the most points over the weeks between January and March. They were each given a bag of Easter goodies. This term, the staff will be awarding points for children who are really making an effort to reach their targets. This includes behaviour and learning targets such as individual goals in literacy and maths, group targets to work cooperatively and class targets too. The lunch time staff will be looking for good table manners too!

School Photos If you would like to order your childs photograph please place the correct
money with the order in the envelope provided and return to Nicky in the office by 30th April.

FILM NIGHT FUNDRAISER FOR OASIS SOUTH AFRICA

On Friday May 4th, we plan to hold a film night after-school in order to raise funds for Oasis South Africa. Entry to the film night will be 1; All parents, siblings are welcome as long as they pay 1. We will also be selling popcorn for 50p per bag!! As many of you will be aware, Oasis South Africa is our partner hub, and Lucia visited them in February. Our colleagues there are going through a difficult time at present, as government funding which was due to be paid in February hasn't come through. In March they were unable to pay salaries, and instead the staff there got through this by receiving food parcels from other charities in the locality. April looks just as bleak and it is likely that they won't be able to pay salaries again. We are going to hold the film night to send the funds raised to them and help them to continue their work with South Africa's most vulnerable communities.

OASIS FREE SCHOOL Good News! Oasis's application to open a Free Secondary
School in Waterloo is progressing and the team have been invited to an interview at the Department for Education in mid-May. The outcome of the application will be known in early July. We are still seeking signatures in support of the Free School - please speak to Lucia, or sign online at www.oasiscommunityschool.org.

Dates Dont forget we are used as a Polling Station on 3rd May, school will be closed, apart
from Year 6 will be coming in. Bank holiday on Monday 7th May, closed too. 2012/2013 term dates will be published next week.
