COMMUNITY DAY
The first day of the Girl Scout Week Celebration was on September 18, 2011. It was the Community Day. As part of the celebration, we had our activities for that day like the Fun Run and the pledge of each patrol. In the Fun Run, we had a parade in Calaca town proper. Every patrol has their banners about the theme Stop the Violence: Speak for Girls Rights. All the girls joined the Fun Run wearing their camp uniforms. Troop leaders, Mrs. Angeline Pagkaliwangan, Mrs. Geralyn Alday, Mrs. Pauline Aristo and Mrs. Clarissa Peniz, joined the activity. Another activity done was the pledge of the patrols. Every patrol gave things that will be helpful for the scouting movement. Patrols 1 and 3 gave plates, 2,4 and 6 gave sayket , 8 gave a bolo and patrols 5 and 7 gave spoons and forks. Mrs. Peniz was the one who received all the things together with the SPB President, Sr. GS Cleo Vaso.

GIRLS DAY
September 19, 2011 was the Girls Day. It was the second day of GS Week Celebration. There are lots of activities done for this day. All the activities were done to boost the self esteem of the girls. All of the patrols and all the girls actively participated in all the activities. The first activity was the poem making done by each patrol. Patrol 4 (Violet Peacemakers) won the first place in this activity. Another activity was the Search for Miss Senior Girl Scout. There were eight candidates who represented their patrols. Each candidate showed their talents. The girls were challenged to face the crowd. Ailyn Atienza from Patrol 3 (Pink Pacifists) won as the Miss Senior Girl Scout. Shaina Mismanos from Patrol 1 (Blueberries) won second place and the third place was Gezelle Deocampo from Patrol 6 (Green Virtuosos). We also had the hiking. We passed a river, climbed a high and slippery steep and walked in a forest-like path. There were obstacles in each station that all patrols should pass through. Luckily, all the patrols survived the hiking and the obstacle course. Many said it was hard and some said it was challenging and exciting. All the girls felt tired after the hiking but they enjoyed what they did. In the hiking, their cooperation was tested. The patrol leaders leadership skill was also tested.

ESCODA DAY
Girl scouts of the Batangas Province Science High School dearly remembered Josefa Llanes Escoda, Girl Scouts of the Philippines founder in a simple ceremony at the Batangas Province Science High School, Dacanlao, Calaca, Batangas last September 20, 2011. Before the ceremony, the girl scouts started the day with COLORS. The presiding officer was Pauline G. Lopez, schools Senior Planning Board (SPB) auditor; COLOR Party: Faye Magsombol, Unice Marasigan and Marie Christine Bascon; Prayer: Danica Mae B. Vergara; Panunumpa ng Katapatan sa Watawat ng Pilipinas: Camille A. Fenol; Girl Scout Promise: Ma. Fatima P. Tumbaga and; Girl Scout Law: Elisha Ruth V. Regondola. After the COLORS, we started the Escoda Memento Ceremony. It was the 111th year of commemorating Escoda who was born on September 20, 1898. It was mentioned that Escoda organized the GSP movement in 1940 after a series of training in London and the USA. But her life ended unexpectedly when she and husband Antonio were imprisoned for espionage after being detained at Fort Santiago, nothing was ever heard of them again. Escoda is also remembered as a consistent scholar who earned a teachers certificate and an MA in Sociology and masteral units in social work. The simple ceremony consists of reading Escodas life, while the girl scouts and SPB officers formed nine straight lines facing a table with Escodas portrait with flowers in front of it, the groups then sing and march heading the table dropping coins in a box intended to fund activities for the movement. The teachers, together with the troop leaders, Mrs. Clarissa B. Peniz and Mrs. Angeline Pagkaliwangan also participated in the said activity.

FAMILY DAY
The girl scouts of the Batangas Province Science High School joined the family day celebration in connection to the Girl Scout Week Celebration 2011 with the theme Stop the Violence: Speak Out for Girls Rights. Although their real families were not with them, they still did their best to inculcate in their minds that changing the world can be really fun with their co-girl scouts. The activities were conducted on the night of September 21, 2011 just like a sleepover for their groups even though we really stay in our dormitories as scholars. In order to keep the girls entertained and busy, we provided them hands-on and other activites. First, we gave them a task to think about their patrol name. They also thought of what will be their cheers, yells and jingles. We also asked them to make their emblem and provide one for each member. They also created their poster-slogan regarding the girl scout week theme Stop the Violence: Speak Out for Girls Rights.
