Dated: 24.06. 2011 To, IBM India Private Limited (Ms Renuka Manghwani, Regional Manager (North) 6th Floor, DLF Solodhara, Sector- 30 nd NH 8, 32 Milestone Gurgaon- 1220022 Subject: Procurement of High End Server/ Blade System- regarding. This office intends to procure High End Server/ Blade System which would be installed at Kolkata, Bangaluru and Hyderabad. A statement giving specifications of the required server/ system is annexed. For any clarification regarding specifications or scope of work , Shri A.K. Sinha, Senior Technical Director, NIC (Romm No. 112, Udyog Bhavan, New Delhi, Tel: 2306 1456, e-mail: [email protected]) may be contacted. 2. In previous dealings, IBM has informed that they deal with the customer through their Business Partners only. It is, therefore, requested that if they want to associate any Business Partner, that partner may be associated from the initial stage itself. 3. IBM is requested to make a price quote for the server/ system within a fortnight. If IBM does not quote directly, they may recommend their business partners who can quote directly or through IBM. To such business partners IBM would also provide authorisation letter to this office. While making price quote, a sheet showing details as to how they arrived at the price may also be furnished. If IBM has supplied a similar server to any government organisation, its specifications and price may also be furnished. The price should also specify taxes, delivery charges, installation charges etc. The warranty period and details of after-sale service to be provided by IBM/ Business Partner should also be clearly mentioned. 4. IBM Business Partner on whom order is to be placed would be required to deposit security money equal to 5% of value of the price within a fortnight time from receipt of Purchase Order in the form of Fixed Deposit receipt from a commercial bank/ Bank Guarantee from a commercial bank in favour of Director General of Foreign Trade. The security deposit should be valid for three years. IBM/ Business Partner would ensure that they able to install/ operationalise the servers/ systems within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of Purchase Order. 5. It may also be noted that this letter is just for inviting price quote and indicate likely conditions that this office may like to include in the Purchase Order, if it is decided to place order on IBM/ Associated Business Partner for purchase of the servers/ systems. This letter does not impose any binding on this office to accept the price quoted or to place an order for supply. 6. Quotations may be sent to Shri Rajiv Arora, Jt. DGFT (Room No 110 B) or A.C.
