The pastor of Christ's Church of the Valley notes several positive changes and signs of growth at the church in recent months. Attendance at services and small groups has increased, with more new families and returning members. Participants in the prayer services are bringing more in-depth prayers focused on the church's ministries, leadership, and outreach. The pastor is encouraged by these signs that the Holy Spirit is at work and hopes members will continue gathering for prayer to invite God's power and revival.

Christs Church of the Valley

July 2012
Greetings, Ive been able to make a few observations over the past few months of Sundays. What Im seeing is grandparents faithfully bringing their grandchildren. God is bringing new families on a regular basis. There is a greater interest, attendance and involvement in our small groups. There is more of a willingness to become involved in the ministries of our church. Some folks that we havent seen in a while on Sundays are beginning to return. There is a greater participation and awareness of King Jesus and our worship reflects just that. Is it just me or can you sense the presence and power of the Holy Spirit more than before? Our church family is beginning to invite their neighbors on Sunday. Our prayer service is attracting more and more each Sunday. Considering the change in our service time we were still pretty well attended. Last Sunday alone we had 2 new couples and 2 new individuals visit. Thank you for helping them feel welcome. I was able to sit among a group of about 25 brothers and sisters who participated in our prayer service to which, Im always amazed to hear their hearts in prayer before God. There were prayers of praise, prayers of understanding Gods sovereign will. There were prayers of guidance and direction for ourselves and for our church. There were prayers for the leadership, for the teachers, for the worship team, and for the health and finances of this church. There were prayers for boldness as we step forward in faith as a church. There were prayers that our own hearts would turn towards God, towards our families, and towards our church family. There were prayers that our hearts would be burdened for our co-workers, neighbors, friends, and for family members who have not been awakened to the Love of God through Jesus Christ yet. I truly believe that as we privately and corporately cry out to God in prayer we are admitting our own human weaknesses. God is attracted to the weakness of His children and I think He just wants to hear us admit just how desperately we need Him. Jesus said, My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness. And Pauls response, Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest on me. 2 Corinthians 12:9 I desperately want Christs power to rest on me, dont you? You and I dont have to be something or someone were not. Christs power allows me to be me. All I have to do is preach Gods Word the very best I can then call our church family to prayer and worship. I am freed-up to preach and pray and worship and God has already shown that He will do the rest. One final reminder, we meet in my office on Sunday mornings from 8:00 to 8:45 am. in prayer if you want to join us and of course at 10:45 am. right after our worship service we gather again in prayer. Did you know that prayer has always been the first step in any revival? Blessings, Pastor Bill P.S. Toni and I want to thank you for your generosity once again as we celebrated our wedding anniversary.
