The lush greeneries and cool breeze of Tagaytay City has welcomed 41 trainers to the Hope for Kids Refresher and Explorers Club Master Trainers Workshop last May 23 and lasted until the 26th. These 41 attendees came from all over the country. Our Trainer, Toni Moffet, was very creative and energetic. She modeled a similarly fun yet improved way of teaching Hope for Kids. The hand motions she it turned out, it was not an upgrade but a totally different material introduced were very useful as children learn the actions that builds on the original Hope for Kids material. Exciting! first then the content. As the kids repeatedly review in this manner, it will aid them to remember each truth The material looks very similar to the Hope for Kids that children will find to be easy to accomplish and very interesting. The delivery imbedded in a particular hand motion. of the material to the class is also patterned after the Hope for Kids Toni continued the workshop to cover the launch of material so teachers will definitely have ease in transition from H4K Explorers Club, which was introduced by Marvin White to Explorers Club. With this material, the children in our churches and the rest of the Mailbox Club representatives. This now have something to look forward to after each Hope for Kids new material became the buzz of the training as we implementation. anticipated an upgrade in the Hope for Kids material. As

Gospel Church of Manila is in the heart of Binondo and because of our location we are the only English speaking church in the heart of Chinatown. Therefore, we are able to reach not the pure Chinese but those Chinese who married Filipinas or vice versa and their children, whom they call mestizos. Though they are half Chinese, culturally speaking, these mestizos are not fully accepted by the Chinese community and even their own Chinese families. During our first hope for kids training, we had children who were from these families. Since they were being taught how to share the gospel they were encouraged and imbibed to share it with their classmates and even their family members. We believe that if we cannot get through their families because of their traditions then these children can be our missionaries.
True enough that day came, when the grandfather of one of these children was rushed to the hospital because of critical condition. In the Chinese culture, they have this belief that those visitors whose birthday is not compatible to the sick persons birthday will not be allowed pay a visit. The mother being a Filipina, was a member of our church and also trained in EE, was not allowed inside the room, but her daughters were permitted. Seeing the opportunity, she was the one who encouraged her daughters to get into the room and share the gospel to their grandfather since they already know the gospel presentation. The messengers were children, and the gospel was simple but it has the power to save lives, in Gods miraculous way, the grandfather accepted Christ before God took him. We could never be able to belittle what God can do through these kids. To God be the Grace is the wife of Ptr. Greg Ambrose Roasa, an EE clinic glory.
teacher and a member of the EE Board of Trustees.
Reason No. 1: Obedience to the great commission EE helps churches to equip their members to obey our LORDs command to be fishers of men. On OJT events in EE, we show by example and through our leadership, that we are obeying the Great Commission. By using EE, every church member can learn to share his or her faith and personally participate in the Great Commission. Reason No. 2: Training and equipping the saints Believers need training to share their faith. Jesus is the model but like other areas, mentoring and coaching is absolutely necessary and EE helps in this. By using a tool like EE, the pastor fulfills his responsibility as outlined in Ephesians 4:12. Every church that has members who are able and willing to share their faith is a strong church. Reason No. 3: Character transformation When GOD gave HIS people the task to share their faith, it is not because HE has no other option. He is actually giving HIS people a privilege to be involved in this great task so that they will have the opportunity for character transformation. As OJTs are non-negotiable parts of EE, seeking prospects, connecting and sharing with them then becomes a part of a trainees experiences. These experiences help to develop humility and love for others in pursuit of Christ-likeness. It is GODs intention that we change in our character to become like His Son and using a tool like EE helps us to do just that. Reason No. 4: Experiencing the greatness of GODs love When we implement EE and train believers to share their faith, they will soon meet and deal with people who are not yet ready to hear the gospel. And, in order for us to share our faith with them, we need to draw on Christs unlimited reservoir of love. Touching the heart of Christ, and experiencing His love pouring down upon us enables us to persevere no matter what obstacle we are meet in the effort of sharing the gospel. Only then we learn that love is not an emotional feeling but an action centered in our will. We then come to understand that Christs love compels us and we experience its vastness and depth. Reason No. 5: Improving church quality: loving one another in small groups Jesus commanded believers to love one another. Participating in an EE semester is challenging to any attempts at loving one another. EE teams go out on OJTs usually in teams of threes and they do this weekly for 4 months. As they move along the 4 months, members of the teams forge a strong bond of love as they pray for each other, help in studying the material and adjust for each other in order to do well on an OJT engagement. For many, these are the moments that give the best memories in an EE semester. (to be continued...)
