Start Learning in ERA 5.0

There will be 2 Content loader DVDs each for MSCIT ERA 5 and WAVE ERA 5 The framework is common for both MSCIT & WAVE Content for MSCIT as well as WAVE Courses can be loaded once the Framework for ERA 5 is Installed at your center WAVE Learning as well as MSCIT learning will be done in ERA 5 framework only Also the Learners for both MSCIT & WAVE can be downloaded from the same Learning Facilitator login

ERA 5.0 INSTALLATION>SERVER PREREQUISITES

Please Ensure the Following before Installation

That the server machine in your computer lab is being used to install MKCLs ERA 5.0 (Physical server machine) Operating system should be either
Win XP with SP 3 with IIS version 5.1 or Higher or Windows Server 2003 with SP 2 IIS version 5.1 or Higher

Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Express R2 Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0 That the C drive (Root Drive) is having minimum 16 GB free space as per the recommended hardware setup. Free space required for loading a course depends on the actual size of the course content.

ERA 5.0 INSTALLATION>SERVER PREREQUISITES

Please Ensure the Following before Installation

That the server machine is connected to Internet for Framework Activation and Learner Data Downloading. That you are Installing ERA 5.0 from a login which has the Administrative privileges. That you have Flash Player installed on the machines in order to view the eContent properly

ERA 5.0 INSTALLATION>SERVER PREREQUISITES

Please Ensure the Following before Installation

That you are Installing ERA 5.0 by keeping the installer CD/DVD in the respective drive of the server machine itself. That you have Internet Information Service (IIS) version 5.1 or higher installed on the server machine. IIS installation needs the respective Operating System installation CD

ERA 5.0 INSTALLATION > CLIENT PREREQUISITES

Please Ensure the Following before Installation of QOES client

Operating system should be either

Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0 IIS v5.1 or later Windows Installer 3.1 Windows Installer 4.5 Report viewer 10 Crystal Report Internet Explorer version 7.0 with SP1 or later

IF Crystal Report, Report Viewer 10 and .NET is not installed on a client machine. Learners will not be able to solve IPTs & Try IT on that client machine.

ERA 5.0 FRAMEWORK INSTALLATION

Insert the Single click ERA 5.0 Framework Installation DVD provided to you in the DVD-ROM. Open the DVD and then double click the autorun.exe file which will present the adjacent screen to you.

ERA 5.0 PREREQUISITE INSTALLATION

Following pre-requisites will get installed from ERA 5.0 Framework Installation CD .NET Framework 4.0

Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 express

Click on Accept button when the two adjacent window appears to continue the Installation.

ERA 5.0 PREREQUISITE INSTALLATION

If .NET Framework 4.0 is not installed earlier in your machine, then installer will start the installation of .NET 4.0 Framework If .NET 4.0 is already Installed on your system, the installer will then directly proceed to Install SQL Server 2008 R2 Express

Please be patient as SQL Server Installation will take 30-45 mins. Adjacent screen will appear before you while installation is in process

ERA 5.0 FRAMEWORK INSTALLATION

Click on Next button to continue the installation of ERA 5.0.

Once all the prerequisites are over, the installation of ERA 5.0 will start & following screen will appear.

Enter the Drive letter & then specify a shared folder in your server or any other system in the LAN where you wish to store the backup files

After ERA 5 Framework Installation is over following screens for copying Dummy Course Content will appear before you.

After ERA 5 Framework Installation is over following completion screen will appear before you.

ERA 5.0 QOES PREREQUISITE INSTALLATION

After ERA 5 Framework Installation is over , the Installer will ask for Installation of ERA 5.0 QOES Prerequisite as shown below

Installation of SQL Server 2008 R2 for ERA 5.0 QOES will start and following screen will appear.

After all the Prerequisite for QOES are Installed following message will appear.

Click OK to continue

Click on Install application to Proceed further

ERA 5.0 QOES PREREQUISITE INSTALLATION

The application for ERA 5.0 QOES will be installed on your system. After the application is installed, a confirmation message as shown will be displayed

Click on finish button to complete the installation. After you click on finish button, all the Installation process is over and your next step will be the activation of ERA 5.0 framework

ERA 5.0 FRAMEWORK ACTIVATION

Use the icon present on the Desktop for accessing the Learning Facilitator Login Or open the Learning facilitator login from Start >> Programs >> ERA 5 >> ERA 5 Learning Facilitator Click on Activate button to start activation process.

Click on Shortcut icon on desktop

ERA 5.0 FRAMEWORK ACTIVATION

Make sure that your are connected to internet while doing activation. A message of successful activation shall be displayed if the Activation Key entered is correct. Now you are ready to enter into the eLearning world!

Once the ERA 5.0 Framework is activated you can load the course contents. Be ready with course CD/DVD.

Insert course CD/DVD in CD/DVD drive of your server machine on which ERA 5.0 framework is installed. The setup shall run automatically

In case there is insufficient space on the drive to load the course, a message prompt shall be displayed. Please make provision for free space.

ONCE THE ERA 5.0 SERVER AND CLIENT APPLICATION IS INSTALLED. YOU ARE READY TO USE ERA 5.0

In case you need to Uninstall only ERA 5.0 framework you can uninstall it from the following path Control Panel Add or Remove Programs ERA 5

In case you need to Uninstall ERA 5.0 as well as its prerequisites you can uninstall it from the following path

Control Panel Add or Remove Programs ERA 5

If you remove the Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 following screen will appear

Click Here to remove Microsoft SQL Sever 2008 R2

Click on OK button to continue

Click on the respective component you want to Uninstall( You can Uninstall either ERA 5 or ERAQOES5 SQL server at a time)

Select first two check boxes only

Click on the Next button to continue

Uninstall process will take about 30-45 mins

Once the Uninstallation in complete a message will be displayed as shown

Once you have removed the Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 for either ERA 5 or ERAQOES, you again have to proceed in the similar manner as above for Uninstalling the SQL Server for either of the application
