SYNOPSIS
Chapter 4

Jagan start to feel gratified that Mali is becoming a writer, Jagan often reflected with a lot of pride because he think Mali is really helping mankind with his writing. When Jagan is young, he joined the movement for freeing India from foreign rule, gave up his studies, home and normal life and violated the British laws of the time. He was perform the service.

Mali become more independence than before. The link between father and son was the five-rupee currency note that he left on the table every morning and checked later to find out if it had been accepted. Although they lived under one roof, but they might be in two different worlds. They seldom reach home reach home at the same time, so no chance for them to communicate. Jagan often inquire about Mali news from his cousin. Jagan said he was unlike upset Mali in his life.

Jagan only concern his son and want to known what are Mali doing and his plan, but every time their communicate, their definely must quarrel. Jagan remembered that their last speak had been three and a half month ago. A day, cousin came back, he told with Jagan about Mali wanted to go to America. Mali wanted to learn the art in America, but Jagan feel that it was oatrageous and hurt his national pride.

The cousin describe some information about culture of America to Jagan. After Jagan knew about information of America, he hope Mali shall stay here, he do not want Mali become deterioration. Mali has already done all the preparation to America. Mali was very independence, he settle all the things by himself. At the end, Jagan know that he cannot be changed his son mind. Actually, Jagan was a very great father, he love his son very much, but did not show with his action. He hope can give any help to his son especially in finance.

Chapter 5

Jagan always tought the people around about the occasion of his son at America. When Jagan received the letter from his son, he felt very happy and excited. He kept every letter from Mali nicely and put them in a file. After three years, Mali told his father about he started to eat beef in the letter. Jagan never told others people about this matter. Jagan felt that this is a shameful act.

While Jagan wrote a letter about his feeling and collecting quotations from the shastras and Gandhis writing on the cow to Mali. Suddenly the call rings, Mali said that he has oredy come back and following by another person. Jagan and the cousin goes to the railway station to meet Mali. When Mali approached him, extending his hand, he tried to shrink away and shield himself behind the cousin. He felt that Mali was a stranger because Mali appearance is change.

At that time, Mali introduce the girl beside him. The girl name Grace and they are married. Jagan felt very surprised because Mali did not tell him before and Grace looks like Chinise. When they arrived house Mli feel that nothing has changed. Jagan has already spent two week to fitted up the room. Jagan began to avoid people, he scared people will ask about his daughter-in law. Grace does all the housework should

do by Indian daughter-in-law.She learnt culture of india like wear sari. Begin now, Jagan view on Grace has already changed. They started to communicate and know each other. Jagan know many news about Mali from Grace. One day, Mali suggest his father get a telephone for the house, but Jagan do not think this is necessary. They start to quarrel again, Mali fell that is awkwerd and beekward, how can doing any business without a telephone.

The father and son have many different concept, no matter in daily life and business. Grace started swallowing margose leaves, Mali stop her and cautioned her do not take it again. Jagan always think that is a natural antiseptic, purifies the blood and supplies iron.
