ETYMOLOGY
ETYMOLOGY refers to the origin and development

of a word.
For example, the terms malaprop/malapropism,

gargantuan, Machiavellian, and maverick.


Other terms: sybarite, forum, crestfallen,

hackneyed, marathon, and kangaroo.

SYNONYMS

SYNONYMS are words that have similar meanings.


Fast rapid, swift, hasty, quick, speedy, etc. Some words have similar meanings but they cannot

be easily interchanged.
