What is a ROBOT..??
As such no formal definition, Research Engineers at Robosapiensindia came up with the under mentioned definition An electrical or mechanical or electromechanical, programmable or nonprogrammable multifunctional manipulator designed to move material, parts, tools, or specialized devices through various programmed motions for the performance of a variety of tasks
ASIMO was created by HONDA, introduced in 2000. ASIMO, which is an acronym for "Advanced Step in Innovative Mobility, derived from the Japanese name..

GENERATIONS
Introduced in 2000,
First version of ASIMO was designed to function in a human environment.
In 2007,
Honda updated ASIMO's intelligence technologies, enabling multiple ASIMO robots to work together in coordination.
In 2011,
weight of just 48 kilograms was decreased to 6 kg. It is also faster, with a running speed of 9 km/h (5.6 mph)
NAO
Nao is an autonomous, programmable, medium-sized humanoid robot, developed by Aldebaran Robotics, a French startup company headquartered in Paris. Project Nao was launched in 2004. On August 15, 2007. The package includes a dedicated programming software called Aldebaran Choregraphe, and Nao is also compatible with Microsoft Robotics Studio, Cyberbotics Webots, and Gostai Urbi Studio.

FEATURES:
The worlds first robot to be able to display and detect emotions has been unveiled by European scientists. Nao, hunches its shoulders when it feels sad and raises its arms for a hug when it feels happy. Naos next gen is named as NEST , is cleverly named saying NAO energy station. Nao robot can autonomously plug itself in to get its refill of energy.
JULES
Jules is the French form of the Latin "Julius The project has been over three years in the making and had the backing of David Hanson, the American robot designer well known for his advanced robot faces and the Zeno robot produced at Hanson Robotics. That training was used to create software that can translate what it sees on video into equivalent settings of Jules's facial motors. The robot can now do this in real time, at 25 frames per second.
SPECIFICATIONS:
Copycat robotic head, Jules, which can mimic the facial expressions and lip movements of a human being. Jules is an animatronic head produced by US roboticist David Hanson, who builds uniquely expressive, disembodied heads with flexible rubber skin that is moved by 34 servo motors..
NEXI
The geniuses at MIT have done it yet again, with a next-generation humanoid robot known as Nexi. Nexi is touted to be an emotional robot who is able to move its body, hands and face in a manner that conveys human emotions behind the cold, calculative look. Nexi is kind of old news but shes getting some new friends in the form of a Mark III robot that is being built at MITs Media Lab. Nexi here follows your eyes and can sense who you are via RFID. She is very scary.
Head & Face The expressive head and face are designed by Xitome Design with MIT. The neck mechanism has 4 DoFs to support a lower bending at the base of the neck as well as pan-tilt-yaw of the head. The head can move at human-like speeds to support human head gestures such as nodding, shaking, and orienting.
ACYUT
o AcYut-"the one who never falls" or "the Imperishable" in Sanskrit- is the name of the series of humanoids being developed at Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani. Secured 6th position in the entire competition, wherein more than 250 teams came from around 26 countries throughout the world. RoboGames -2008 was an enriching experience.
