INTRODUCTION
Financed
by European commission, a consortium of 23 partners consisting universities, research institutions, organization operating in the fields of emergency management, is developing a new generation of smart garments for emergency operation personnel. The European-integrated project called PROETEX(Protection e-Textiles) a micro-nano structured fiber systems for emergency disaster wear started on feb,2006.There are so many subsequent generation of sensorized garments are being released.

SYSTEM OVERVIEW:-
SENSOR MODULES:-
IG is devoted to assess the health status of the emergency operators through following physiological parameter:
BR:-BR
sensor uses deformation sensors in order to capture local fabrics deformation due to respiration chest movement. BT:-BT measurement is carried out by using digital sensors (lm92) sealed in a polyamide foil. HR:-The HR signal is obtained by means of textile electrodes. OXYGEN SATURATION:-These measurements are exploited through an optical transducer based on controlled-source ellectromagnetic.
OUTER GARMENTS
The
OG garments includes the subsystems for assessing the operator activity state and monitoring the surroundings environment. It is produced in three different configuration. All the OG configurations include triaxial accelerometers, a textile motion sensor, a carbon monoxide sensor and an exeternal temperature sensor.

FUTURE DEVELOPEMENTS
The
newer version will contain two novel sensors, namely a dehydration detector based on biochemical sensing technology, to be placed in IG. A novel activity sensor made of organic electronics and located within the boot. New optical biosensors for stress detection Noncontact RF sensors for physiological and thermal parameters monitoring. Energy scavenging system.
