Key result area and Key performance indicator

Key performance or Key result areas are those aspects of the organization that must function effectively for the entire organization to success these areas usually involved major organizational activities or groups of related activities that occur throughout the organization.

KEY result areas capture about 80% of the department work role the remainder of the role devoted to areas of shared responsibility(eg helping team members participating in activities for the good of the organization. In simple terms key result area defined as primary responsibilities of an individual,the core area which each person is accountable.

Set goals and objectives Prioritize and their activities , and there for improve their time/work management. Make value added decisions. Clarify roles of department or individuals. Focus on results rather than activities. Align their role to their organizations business or strategic plans.

KPIs are commonly used by an organization to evaluate its success or the success of a particular activity in which it is engaged. sometimes success is defined in terms of making progress towards strategic goals but often success in simply the repeated achievement of some level of operational goal.

KPI are goals or targets that measure how well an organization is doing on achieving its overall operational objectives. Categorization of indicators. Indicators identifiable as possible candidates for KPIs can be summarized into the following subcategories;

Quantitative indicators. Practical indicators. Directional indicators. Actionable indicators. Financial indicators.
