The Republic of Lithuania (Lithuanian: Lietuvos
Respublika) is a country in northern Europe,
Situated along the south-eastern shore of the
Baltic Sea, sharing borders with Latvia to the
north, Belarus to the southeast, Poland, and the
Russian exclave of the Kaliningrad Oblast to the
southwest.
Lithuania is a member of NATO and of the
European Union. The population is 3.4 million, the
largest city and the capital is Vilnius.
Northern Ireland (Irish: Tuaisceart Éireann,
Ulster Scots: Norlin Airlann) is a constituent
country of the United Kingdom, lying in the
northeast of the island of Ireland, covering
5,459 square miles (14,139 km²), about a sixth
of the island's total area.[1] At the time of the
UK Census in April 2001, its population was
1,685,000, between a quarter and a third of
the island's total population.

Northern Ireland consists of six of the nine


counties of the province of Ulster. In the UK, it
is generally known as one of the four Home
Nations that form the Kingdom. Some of these
terms have controversial implications in
relation to political ideologies concerning the
Portugal, officially the Portuguese Republica
(Portuguese: República Portuguesa;is a country in
southwestern Europe,on the Iberian Peninsula.
Being the westernmost country of mainland
Europe, Portugal is bordered by the Atlantic
Ocean to the west and south and by Spain to the
north and east. The Atlantic archipelagos of the
Azores and Madeira are also part of Portugal.
The land within the borders of today's Portuguese
Republic has been continuously settled since
prehistoric times. Some of the earliest
civilizations include Lusitanians and Celtic
societies. Incorporation into the Roman Republic
dominions took place in the 2nd century BC. The
region was ruled and colonized by Germanic
peoples, such as the Suebi and the Visigoths,
from the 5th to the 8th century. From this era,
some vestigies of the Alans were also found. The
Muslim Moors arrived in the early 8th century and
conquered the Christian Germanic kingdoms,
eventually occupying most of the Iberian
Peninsula. In the early 1100s, during the Christian
Basque Country (Euskadi) is an autonomous
community in the Kingdom of Spain. The
Autonomous community obtained the status of
historical region within Spain with the Spanish
Constitution of 1978. The capital is Vitoria-Gasteiz
(Vitoria is the name in Spanish , Gasteiz in Basque).
The Autonomous community of the Basque Country
is one of the territories where Basque is spoken. The
modern extent of Basque speaking territories are
also called the Basque Country ("Euskal Herria").
The following provinces make up the Autonomous
Community:
Álava (Basque Araba), capital Vitoria (Gasteiz)
Biscay (Bizkaia), capital Bilbao (Bilbo)
Guipúzcoa (Gipuzkoa), capital San Sebastián
( Donostia)
Cyprus (Greek: Κύπρος, Kýpros; Turkish:
Kıbrıs), officially the Republic of Cyprus (Greek:
Κυπριακή Δημοκρατία, Kypriakī́ Dīmokratía;
Turkish: Kıbrıs Cumhuriyeti) is an island country
situated in the eastern Mediterranean south of
Turkey, west of the Levant, north of Egypt, and
east-southeast of Greece.
Cyprus is the third-largest island and one of the
most popular tourist destinations in the
Mediterranean, attracting over 2.4 million tourists
per year.[1] A former British colony, it gained
independence from the United Kingdom in 1960
and became a Commonwealth republic in 1961.
The Republic of Cyprus is a developed country and
has been a member of the European Union since 1
May 2004. It adopted the Euro on the 1st of
January 2008.
