Regression Testing

Regression testing is selective retesting of a system after fixes or modifications to ensure the changes have not introduced new defects or caused existing functionality to fail. There are two main types of regression testing: final regression testing which validates the final build before release to ensure it is stable, and regular regression testing which validates builds between test cycles to check fixes and prevent issues in subsequent cycles. When selecting test cases for regression testing, priority is given to areas affected by fixes, those with frequent previous defects, key functionality, and cases with high visibility or risk.
