Educational System in Switzerland

Originally inhabited by Celtic tribes, Switzerland was later ruled by the Romans and Germans. It established itself as a confederation of cantons in the 14th century and maintained a policy of armed neutrality. Today, Switzerland has a strong economy focused on banking, pharmaceuticals, and engineering. The country's education system includes mandatory primary and secondary school, then options for vocational training, higher education, or university. Governance is shared between the confederation and cantons, with cantons funding universities and vocational programs. Students can study fields like science, business, law, and languages to attain degrees from bachelor's to doctorate level.
