Contact Resistance*
Contact between carbon nanotubes and metal typically results in a very high resistance This results in high power dissipation along with other undesirable properties which defeats the purpose of using CNTs Ideally the contact resistance should not be any more than 12.6 k. We typically observe : 50-1000 k RC RCNT

For CNTFETs to be commercially successful a viable manufacturing process needs to be employed Most of the research on CNTFETs is done using CNTs with fairly long fabrication times (which includes complicated manipulation after CNT growth)*

Conclusion
CNTs are desirable because of their mechanical and electrical properties (i.e. high tensile strength and current density) However, we still need to find practical solutions to reduce contact resistances and formulate a process to make high quality CNTs on a large scale If further research is done in the right direction, CNTFETs can be a promising replacement for MOSFETs
