 Installation of
 Putty (Command lines)
 WinSCP (File Transfert)

 Configure an Ubuntu Virtual Server

Prepare your server
 Change hostname (notroot user)
sudo hostname knowledgetree
sudo vi /etc/hosts

sudo vi /etc/hostname
sudo reboot

Installation
Download KnowledgeTree
 Go to
 http://www.knowledgetree.com/community-download

 Fill the form and check your e-mail

 Next download the latest version

Modifying rights
 Modifying rights on installation folder
 Create «  group_ktdms » group
 sudo groupadd group_ktdms

 Create user «  admin_ktdms  »


 sudo useradd -d /opt/ktdms -m admin_ktdms
 sudo passwd admin_ktdms

 Add «  admin_ktdms  » to «  group_ktdms  »


 sudo usermod –a –G group_ktdms admin_ktdms

 Modify right on folder /opt/


 sudo chown –R admin_ktdms:group_ktdms /opt/knowledgeTree

Prepare Installation
 With WinSCP (notroot user), Upload
 ktdms-oss-3.6.1-linux-installer.bin
 To folder « /opt/ktdms »

 Make the
package executable
 Click on
 ktdms-oss-3.6.1-linux-installer.bin
 Press F9
 Check all X combobox

Start Installation
 With Putty (notroot user),
 Folder : /opt/ktdms
 Type this command
./ktdms-oss-3.6.1-linux-installer.bin

And follow the wizard

 Accept licence

 Change install  Accept MySQL Default
location Port
 /opt/ktdms/3.6.1
 3306
 Accept Web Server
Port  Type MySQL Root
 8080 Password
 Disable SSL Support :  Knowledgetree
N  Type User Password
 Ktdms

Installation Configuration
 Choose if you want to receive information about
ktdms and install other component

 Finally start Installation and wait few minutes

Check Installation
 With Putty, go to
/opt/ktdms/3.6.1

Start ktdms
 To launch ktdms :
/opt/ktdms/3.6.1/dmsctl.sh start

 To stop ktdms :
/opt/ktdms/3.6.1/dmsctl.sh stop
