Decline Curves - by Gustavo Milla Flores - English Intermediate Two - Final Version

The document presents an overview of decline curves, which are a tool used in reservoir engineering to forecast average reservoir production rates and determine necessary actions to maintain economic production. It discusses reservoir lifecycles, performance factors like water cut and pressure, and natural reservoir tendencies. Exponential, hyperbolic, and harmonic decline curves are introduced as methods to classify production decline and forecast rates and economic limits. An example exponential decline curve analysis is also included.

Economic limit
The so-called Economic Limit is when extrapolating the graph
reaches a point where the value of the production of oil or gas,
is equivalent to the cost of production. To continue with the
operation, the expenses would be higher than income.

Declination curves are used to forecast the production
rate and predict the limit economic.

It is a tool to analize the reservoir behavior versus
time.

Its important to compare with other methods like
