Campus Leadership
The role of the principal is to
effectively communicate all
goals and objectives set forth
by our district and campus
improvement plan to their staff.
The principal must be aware of
all changes and improvements
made to the technology plan by
communicating effectively with
the technology director and
superintendent. The role of the
principal is to be an effective
manager of his or her campus
by implementing the
technology requirement set
forth by the district to improve
student learning.
Reflection
The professional development activities will have to encounter some form of evaluation to see if
positive and successful results are occurring. The STaR Chart results by campus will play an
integral part in evaluating the success of the proposed professional development activities. Our
district will evaluate the previous year STaR Chart and determine what areas need to improve as
a whole. After the professional development opportunities are completed, the district hopes that
the skills and knowledge will have improved per teacher on each campus and hopefully will cause
an increase in productivity based on the new results on the STaR Chart. We would like our
teachers to use new technology to disaggregate data as well. The primary goal of the
professional development activities is to provide teachers, administrators, and stakeholders an
opportunity to improve their technology skills and understand the technology plan of our district.
The campus leaders will continue to search for new ways to use on-line learning by meeting with
teachers, attending regional service center workshops, and conducting surveys among our
community stakeholders.
Our students will need to benefit from all of the proposed professional development
opportunities. Teachers need to implement what they have learned into their lesson planning.
We would like to incorporate more student projects with technology based devices instead of
traditionally based tests. Creativity in the classroom is the goal of both students and teachers.
In addition to these lessons, teachers need to receive the proper training on technology ethics
and have the ability to teach students about these ethics. The primary responsibility is to make
sure students do not abuse copyright laws or commit plagiarism while they are completing
assignments using technology devices.
Utilizing the results of the STaR Chart is the best instrument to determine if our school district
is meeting the needs of our students and the changing times in our society.
